Finaly closing the book, I turned to the next one on the pile, “Six River City”. It looked to be a pretty new book, so the information should be relatively accurate
The city I was currently in, Six River City, was relatively wealthy because of the river that ran through it.
The river connected to many places across the southern part of the continent, within the city it diverged 4 ways, hence giving the name Six River.
The river supported the city through thriving trade deals and most of the wealth of the came from this.
There were a few different forces within the city, the strongest authority was the City Lord who was a member of the Cloud Sword Sect. He had an immense background and alongside this, his personal cultivation level was rumoured to be very high. This allowed him to rule with an iron fist
There were only 4 forces outside of his reach, the Alchemist Guild, the Formation Federation, the Rune Union and the Blacksmith Association. Each of these forces were immune to any authority, even one of the 4 major forces would not have much sway with them.
Each craft was fundamental for every cultivator and the forces had roots in every continent so their influence could be found almost anywhere.
Lastly there were the forces completely local to Six River City. The Li family, the Golden Dagger Mansion and the Xi family.
The Li family was a diversely invested family, they owned many of the shops around the city, they owned most of the farms around the area and they had a firm control on the medical industry within the city.
The Golden Dagger Mansion was owned by a very wealthy merchant, he controlled most of the trade going through the river.
Lastly, the Xi family was a family of combat, they handled security and any combat related work, for example they guarded most of the Golden Dagger Mansions security on their trade routes.
Unfortunately, the book didn’t say anything about the gangs within the city, I still needed to look out for that piece of information.
Satisfied with what I’ve learnt, I finally moved on to the last book. It was quite tiring learning so much at one time, but the last book snapped me into a state of concentration.
It was in pristine condition, a good sign. The book was titled “Powerful Cultivators in Eastern Jade Continent.”. Now, this is important to know.
It had 3 different chapters, Legendary Cultivators, Current Powers and Rising Stars.
Since the date wasn’t stated, not that I even know the current date, some things could be wrong, however this was still need to know information.
I started with Legendary Cultivators, it listed only 5 names.

Wow, finally done. And finally a Death Sect name.
There was no way I would remember all these people, I would have to write some things down later.
For now, I tried to memorise as best I can before moving on. The book wouldn’t disappear, so it wasn’t the end of the world.
For now, the stages I knew about were Foundation establishment and Nascent soul, clearly many were missing.
I decided it was time for a walk since I was feeling much better now.I put the books down, made the bed and started walking, but this time with healthy strides.
I looked out the hallway only to see it was empty this time, so I just picked a direction and started walking. I passed a few people, but they were clearly moving with purpose and didn’t spare me a glance.
As walked past a room, I got a glimpse of someone familiar working. Hui?
He was working in a room full of draws, taking some pills from a bottle and putting them in one of the draws. He worked fast that was for sure.
I knocked on the doorframe to get his attention and he noticed me immediately.
As usual he gave a quick bow and greeted me, “Young- Duyi, this one is glad to you are up and well!”. I nodded back, “Thank you. Is there a library around here?”.
“Yes, there is. It is down this hall,” he pointed towards the direction I was going, “then turn leave the current building. The big Pagoda is the library, you will see it.”.
“Thanks again Hui.”, and I decided to copy him and give a slight bow. He smiled and bowed as well.
I made my way out the building and could see a big pagoda not so far away, stone slabs laid down as a pathway through a mini forest showed the way to it, but something else caught my attention.
I could hear shouting, not the panicked type, but I could hear the determination in their voices. Curious, I decided to follow the voices.
The sound came from just behind the building I just left, I followed along and peered around the corner, I saw a huge platform with many shirtless men. That sounds like some peoples dream, but definitely not mine.
They wielded wooden swords and were performing some training exercises, I looked around and noticed my friend there, at the same time he noticed me and waved me over.
