Rage

The ground shook as Kaneki, now a being of pure darkness, charged toward Tray, eyes locked with vicious intent. His fists clenched, raw power surging through him as he swung, aiming to obliterate Tray in a single blow. But just before impact, Tray’s eyes flared a bright orange—four orbs of fire burst from his chest, and a flaming tornado erupted around him. The force sent Kaneki skidding back, crashing into the dirt. As the firestorm dissipated, Tray stood tall, his body partially engulfed in flames. Unlike Kaneki, whose transformation had consumed him entirely in darkness, parts of Tray’s left arm and right shoulder remained untouched. But the injuries he had sustained earlier were gone. He locked eyes with Kaneki, the embers around him flickering with his breath. Kaneki didn’t hesitate. With a primal roar, he lunged forward, fists flying with reckless fury. Tray braced himself, slipping past the first wild swing. Then another. And another. Kaneki’s speed was relentless, but his movements were erratic. Tray ducked and sidestepped each punch with precise footwork, reading Kaneki’s attacks as if he had fought him a hundred times before. Then, instead of simply countering with a punch, Tray swept low, knocking Kaneki off balance. As Kaneki stumbled, Tray took advantage, clenching his fist and landing a blow square across his jaw, the punch scattering embers of fire in the air. Confidence turned into fear as Tray watched his punch all but daze Kaneki for a second. Kaneki growled, eyes flashing white as he retaliated. Instead of throwing another predictable punch, he grabbed a chunk of debris from his demolished house and hurled it straight at Tray. He barely dodged in time, but before he could react, Kaneki used the moment of distraction to close the gap, ramming his knee into Tray’s gut. The impact sent Tray flying backward, slamming into a tree. He attempted to stand up, and struggled to keep balance for a brief second, blinking. But just as he came back to his senses, Kaneki had found him and before he could react, he pushed Tray back on the tree, releasing a barrage of furious punches on his head and chest, his power and speed increasing with every second, each blow hit harder than the last and creating a shock that coursed all through Tray’s body leaving him in a world of pain. Kaneki charged a massive swing aimed at Tray’s head, he gritted his teeth and threw his punch, but he charged his swing milliseconds too long, and Tray used this to dodge the punch and escape. Kaneki’s punch, instead of hitting Tray, hit the tree in front of him, the sheer power of the blow ripped the tree in half. The top off the tree came crashing down but Kaneki caught it with ease and glanced at Tray who was running away. Kaneki launched the tree at him like a javelin, hitting Tray and knocking him to the ground in shock. Kaneki caught up to him in second and held a fierce forearm to Tray’s chest, his white eyes, beaming down on Tray, casting judgement.

‘I was wrong to put all my trust in you from the beginning’ Kaneki thought to himself, his eyes twitching and glowing with hatred. ‘The very first interaction, the support you gave, the plan to give me closure, the story of your parents... Was any of it real? Did you even care about me or Hannah? Or were you ready to kill us... AT ANY MOMENT??’

Kaneki let out a devilish scream before grabbing Tray by the neck, lifting him up and slamming him back down, cracking the ground beneath him and throwing a fierce punch across his face, causing Tray to spit a long stream of blood.

‘ILL RIP YOU TO SHREDS’, He thought to himself, keeping a fierce stare on Tray, ‘I’ll kill everyone you care about and make you watch... just as you have done to me...’

Kaneki let out another scream, fuelled with rage but Tray used the moment to grab a rock and shove it into Kaneki’s face. But just like before, it was futile, he didn’t flinch. Without a second of hesitation, Kaneki grabbed Tray and screamed before launching him with so much power that Tray shattered three consecutive trees with the impact before crashing into the dirt and running away. There was no way he could beat Kaneki... he was too strong. Tray looked back to see that Kaneki had already caught up and lunged at him, grabbing his head and viciously slamming it into a tree, leaving Tray dazed. Kaneki followed up with two punches across his face and a punch to his stomach before landing a forward kick that thrusted into Tray’s chest and launched him into a small mountain. Chunks of rock were scattered across the ground as the power of the kick buried Tray into the mountain. Kaneki looked at the destruction he had caused for a moment, taking a moment to breathe before making a final charge towards the mountain where Tray was. Kaneki clenched his fist and sped up. Tray hadn’t emerged from the mountain, maybe the impact had knocked him unconscious or maybe it killed him. Nevertheless, the rage in Kaneki would never subside until he made sure that Hannah’s killer was dead. He drew closer and closer to the point of impact, this would be the final blow that would annihilate Tray but just as Kaneki would reach the foot of the mountain, Tray emerged, but he looked different. Before, he was covered in flames but now, the flames were gone from every point of his body except his right fist. But the flames that enveloped his fist was not like before, they were blue and burned brighter than any normal fire, casting a blue hue on all the surroundings. Kaneki’s face turned from anger into shock, what.... was this? But before he could react, Tray slammed his fist into Kaneki’s face, the devastating impact sent Kaneki flying, destroying every tree in his path before crashing into the cold hard dirt. The flames on Tray’s fist were gone, leaving the boy just as he was before the transformation. Tray’s punch had obliterated Kaneki’s dark transformation and left him unconscious on the ground. Tray held his right arm in pain and looked upon Kaneki with pity before turning and walking away.

Despite all of his rage, Kaneki was utterly defeated.
