Epilogue

Ruth passed away at the age of two-hundred and twenty-five, just like Adam before her.

The funeral procession was so large, it was said that over a thousand people attended. Humans, Benelim and to the surprise of all, Maelim. Some of the Maelim wished to say goodbye to a worthy foe. Others were there in gratitude for Ruth sparing their lives and freeing them from their warlord masters. While things were tense at a couple points, all parties maintained their civility. They knew Ruth would have wanted it that way.

King Christoros and High King Ioannis showed up, alongside the entire Senate of Primus. The legionnaires buried her with full honors, and the druids sang the songs of Terra over her grave. A dozen people gave speeches over the course of several hours. Including the two Benelim kings, both Consuls of Primus. Leela and Katherina, and several Godshards.

The Godshard brothers, David and Solomon, would go on to create the Sacerdozio, an organization that would go on to become the largest Godshard institution. At its peak, the organization stretched over half the world. From the northern kingdoms to parts of the Triad. A core tenant of the Sacerdozio was the Twin Path, less powerful Godshards known as Sacerdoti would go out amongst the people, inspiring them with their words and charisma. Other more powerful Godshards known as Maghi would study in great sanctums and continue to grow their knowledge and spellcraft.

An entire belief system inspired by Ruth and Sheba, and their partnership from centuries prior.

Regrettably, some of Ruth’s fears came to pass, and not all Godshards believed in the Sacerdozio. These newly dubbed Adamites broke away, following a Godshard named Evelin, and were more nomadic and free spirited. They became far more solitary and rarely worked with the Sacerdozio. They believed their organization was too rigid and was thus anathema to the teachings of Adam.

But all Godshards revered Ruth, for they saw her as common ground, a legacy pure and true, second only to Adam the first. The Sacerdozio maintained control of the island, which would go on to become the Island City. Despite their ownership, in honor of Ruth and Adam, all Godshards would be welcome regardless of their beliefs.

To the Benelim, Ruth became known under a different name: Amica, Friend. Centuries after her death, Leela and Katherina were staunch advocates of peace and unity between Benelim and humanity, a cornerstone in their relations. The legacy of The Uniter would echo throughout the centuries. Septentrio was renamed Rutherna in her honor, and a great statue was erected, through the combined efforts of Benelim and human sculptors.

Relations between humans and Benelim would wax and wane like the changing of the tides. Yet both peoples are in agreement that Ruth the Uniter ushered in a Golden Age. Her life stood as a testament to the potential both sides had, when they could put aside their differences.

A goal to which all aspired to, forevermore.
