An alarm clock rings out showing the time “7:00 Am”, the sound filling the dark room. The sunlight peaks around the curtains filling the corners making the light bounce. Connor in a drowsy motion turns off the alarm and gets up out of his bed. *Yawn* “Holy Shit that was not a good sleep” Connor walks out of his room and into the lounge room, picks up a remote, and turns on the tv then sluggishly moves to the kitchen to make some breakfast before heading to school. A news reporter reads out an event that happened the previous night. “A man named Kage Grant was shot dead after attempting to assault a police officer this happened shortly after he was questioned about the disappearance of a woman, she was later found at a friends house in the morning, we have an interview with the police officer right here today” The Camera pans over to the officer standing formally ready to speak on the situation. Connor, being done with making his breakfast, sits on the lounge for a short while watching the news and spooning his freshly made cereal into his mouth. The officer begins to speak. “Okay so after i questioned him he tried to attack me. He was a suspect yeah but he wasn’t a high level suspect you know, because she didn’t know him~” the tv turns black in an instant after Connor pushes down on the red power button on the remote. “Man some people can be fucked up, but thats weird that guy attacked the officer if that girl was okay, welp he might have killed a different person and the whole situation was just a coincidence, i bet the police are looking into it” Connor sets the remote down on the coffee table. Connor searches his pockets making sure he has everything. “Keys, Yep. Wallet, Yep. Phone, Check. AAnnd, oh damn i almost forgot it” Connor walks back to his room and picks up a small black box off of his desk, its size looks to be just shy of an old flip phone, with a set of 5 multi-coloured LEDs sprawled along the end of it. “I almost forgot this, I almost forgot I was paid to search that house this afternoon, why do so many people blame ghosts for everything, well I don’t really care cause im getting paid because of it” Connor throws the EMF reader into his backpack and swings it onto his back. He puts his headphones in and pulls out his phone, he swipes seemingly endless in order to get to the bottom of his playlist with the number next to the most recently added song being 1390 “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” By Blue ?yster Cult.
This was usually how Connor would get to the school in the morning, walking across town while listening to his music. Connor walked down the street, across a bridge connecting the 2 parts of the town together, taking in all the sights of a small town. Connor approaches the front gates of his school, Connor glances up to see that his friend Oliver is waiting at the front gate. “Oi, Why do you always walk to school, why don’t you just take a bus?” Olivers says while he walks with Connor up the pathway leading up to the school. Connor removes his Earbuds and places them gently in the case, “Well i get to listen to music” Oliver looks confused at Connor “You know you can listen to music on a bus right”, “I guess that’s true hahaha” they both go back and forth in conversation while they walk into the cluster of building making up the school.
Connor spends his day at school heading to classes, eating lunch with his friends at break times. In his final class Conner sits patiently waiting for the school day to end. At last the final bell of the day rang out. He immediately grabbed his bag and walked out of school. He saw Oliver at the gate waiting for his bus to arrive. As Connor passed him He gave him a wave and a nod as well as a smile that said “see you later”. After Multiple Kilometers of walking connor finally makes his way to an abandoned house, there was always something distinctly eerie about this house, the way the paint was peeling off along with the overgrown grass that had started enveloping the concrete footpath to the point you could barely see it through the tangled waves of grass. It had not been lived in for years, more or less looked after. Connor reaches into his backpack as he walks down the footpath to enter the house, since the locks had fallen off the doors Connor expended no effort in entering the house. The rooms were dark, with seemingly no electricity connected to the lights. The walls torn with withered wallpaper draped and bunching towards the floor, “Dusty as all hell” Connor thought to himself. Gripping his EMF and torch he walked around, exploring the rundown house, he saw knocked over furniture, kids toys sprawled all over some areas of the floor. The holes in the ceiling opened to a pitch black view into the roof. A tv sat across from a tipped over lounge chair. “Well, well, well, If it isn’t a CRT TV” Connor said under his breath being careful not to make too much noise, The EMF not making any noise or displaying any sort of reading. Connor decided to fiddle around with the TV; he sat his EMF down and began playing around with the buttons and knobs. He reached around the back and flicked a switch, the tv shot on with a large chunky static sound, all the thing would display was static since the damaged antenna. Connor attempted to display a test card to see if the display was working and fully functional. He managed and displayed the Multi-Coloured bars of light on the tv. It filled the small area around him with light. A small yellow light flickered from above him out of the corner of his vision. An exposed cable starts to fall from the hole in the ceiling, previously it was barely visible but now it was slithering through the air hurtling towards Connor. The cable falls tangling around Connor like a carpet snake. The exposed wires connect with Connor's bare skin completing the circuit. Volts surge through his body, the cable trapping him into this agonising situation. He felt everything, the needle-like wires piercing his skin with electricity, the cable seemingly getting tighter around his arms and neck, he struggled to free himself with his arms moving in response to the electricity, The static of the TV as well as the high pitch whine of the EMF reader fills the rooms along with connors pained screams. His body collapses and he falls over unable to move, his body screaming in agony he reaches out to try and pull away the head of the cable but ends with him left lifeless on the ground, no more convulsions, no more electricity, no more signs of life in Connors body.

The morning sun shone harshly into Connors room, his curtains were not closed last night so the blinding light woke him up way before his alarm. Seemingly he was okay he remembered every second of being draped in those cables, it had felt like his skin was melting from the inside out. But as he stood in his room contemplating this new found pain, he could not help but wonder if his experience was just another dream. Connor had previously had dreams where he felt pain but not like this, this was far too real and agonising than even those surreal dreams. He came to the realization that he had died, he had no idea why he was still alive or even how he made it home from that house. Connor did nothing but stand in silence, but non the less it was a school day. “Well I guess I gotta get ready, since I'm not hurt or anything haha” Connor sighs in disappointment. It would have been a good way to get out of going today, he thinks to himself. Connor walks sleepily around his house, he enters his bathroom, He grabs his tooth brush and begins to hurriedly brush his teeth. As he finishes he glances up at himself in the mirror and sees his eyes have split or fragmented into red and blue colours, similar to a chromatic aberration effect used in photography. “What is That”, he stares at his eyes. The fragmentation in his eyes looks 2 dimensional, almost like it was an overlay applied to him in a photo editing program. He glances around his eyes in the mirror a slight static hum can be heard emitting from himself, it seemed to be coming from his red and blue eyes.
