Zero to a hundred

To be honest, the death of everyone I ever knew is kinda putting me in a contemplative mood

Cause when you think about it, it's funny how fickle our lives could be one moment you're alive breathing and healthy and the next

  You're gone, no fanfare

Nothing, just......gone dead all your memories, all your experiences gone forever, what took a lifetime to build would only take a fraction of a second to be destroyed.

Why do we care so much then? We're all going to die at the end of everything, no matter how much we postpone it, it's inevitable

Al things are going to die, it will all come to an end and at the end of everything nothing will be left to die except death itself

"I think I might be going crazy" I said to myself as I stretched, surprisingly a voice coming from my right hand side answered me

"Yes, yes you are going crazy" I sharply turned my head towards the source of the voice, surprised.

A lean man sat around a meter from me, a simple cloak obscuring his figure

"Hey?" I said cautiously, one can never be too cautious, especially to random people who suddenly appeared beside you "who even does that?" The voice in my head grumbled, I nodded sagely in agreement but forgot there was someone at my front.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

The cloaked figure tilted his head in a manner one could only describe confusion "I'm from the great house of lagoona, made my way here immediately I sensed a disturbance" he paused a little before continuing "but it seems I was to late"

"Have any idea what might have happened here?" He asked me

It sounded like any other question but I could feel a slight change in the atmosphere a feeling of dread slowly spread down my spine, rasing hairs as it passes, causing goosebumps all over my skin, I froze there for a second, contemplating how to answer this question

"Well we were attacked" I said to him, letting the shovel in my hand melt into paint as I pointed towards the graves I had just finished digging "I slept through it tho"

Taken aback by my last statement, his face was obscured but he managed to somehow give the impression of slowly blinking his eyes "slept through it?" He asked me his voice sharp "do I look like a fucking joke to you?" He said, taking a step towards my direction at the Nick of time a voice, this time distinctly female said to the cloaked man " he isn't lying mordai, at least he believes he's saying the truth"

my eyes widened realizing who I was beholding, the cloaked man stopped in his tracks and said in a commanding tone "introduce yourself"

I quickly answered him slightly unnerved by the fact that I might be dead if it wasn't for the intervention of the mystery woman "lithra of the claviscus house" the cloaked man slightly shifted his head upon hearing that name, the female voice promptly saying"true"

The cloaked man turned back to me "I hearby arrest lithra of house claviscus and the grounds of murder and treason"

My mind whirred trying to understand the rapidly escalating circumstances "you've fucked up" the voice in my head Snickered

"Can at least bury the last body? It's that if the head of the family It was way too hard to- I was cut off during my statement by the graceful nothing of unconsciousness

The last thought on my mind being "wow that went from 0 to a hundred real quick"
