I am not crazy

Being snuck into a carriage in the middle of night was NOT what I expected when I was told that I would be taken to the capital, not that I was complaining or anything! Wait! I AM complaining!

I slumped unto my seat, a defeated sigh escaped my lips, my eyes snapping to the ring on the index finger of my right arm

" I haven't even checked you out" I said to the ring

With a light grunt I pushed a bit of my will into the ring, the otherwise plain surface of the ring lit up with inscriptions blinding me

My eyes cleared to find myself in a clearing with a humongous structure in its center at the front of this structure lay the humongous skull of a creature

It's jaws stuck in a yawning pose, the height from the base of where the tongue would have been to the base of the upper jaw was at least 30 meters

It's mouth being the entrance into the structure behind it, I took a step back and drew a deep breath to steady my fraying nerves after this, I took a step forward into the jaws of the great beast, the mouth of the beast leading into a hallway

Flames on the torches lined on the side of the hallway flickered into life some glitching out soon after

My steps echoing in the eeriely quiet hallway "nothing is going to happen to you lithra" I whispered to myself

My words bouncing along the walls, soon after the hallway opened up to a wide hall,

My face warped as I stared at what was definitely once a beautiful hall, items glitched in and out of reality as some items seemed to be ageing before my eyes

" I knew it was too good to be true" I said to myself, I looked around the hall, my eyes catching sight of multiple swirling inscription, their patterns and colours revealing themselves to me

The grimace on my face deepens as I see multiple brakes on the patterns that were supposed to preserve the objects in this hall compromising the entire frame work leading to this........mess

I opened my eyes to the roof of the carriage unable to formulate any words another great sigh was unleashed from my mouth as I sat upright and placed my head in my hands

"Don't worry they said, You have an incredibly useful inheritance! They said!" "What the fuck is this!" I shouted to no one in particular

After a few minutes of trying to cool down there was a knock on the door, a voice from behind it telling me informing me that we were almost at our destination

I poked my head out of the window of the carriage , squinting my to see the siluette of the the capital of ivanos.. ilustria "pretty good name if you ask me" I thought to myself

The most prominent feature of the capital visible from here, 'the twin towers of ilustria' as we got closer the city became more and more detailed

Another structure became visible, a towering and extremely wide building with as slanted roof, the building seemed to always have a cloud of perpetual deariness over it, not helped by the crowd of crows continuously perched over it "the pride of ilustria they called it, more like torture chamber of ilustria" I spat

Yes it's the fucking academy"who would even study in that kind of place?" The voice in my head asked suddenly

"Oh you're alive?" I answered back "I thought you had died in a ditch somewhere in my brain"

"Oh shut up, I'm just saving my words for cinematic entrances"it said "pfft excuses" I retorted

"You do realize you are talking to yourself right?, cause I am a voice In your head, made by your imagination, so technically you ARE insane, I think that this academy might be a perfect match for you " it said

I sat in silence contemplating the reason of existence of the next five minutes before answering meekly "I'm not insane!" I said not even sure of my own words

The voice not even gracing me with a comeback "you know what?, fuck you!" I shouted at the air

"Crazzzzzyyyy" a thin voice in my head sang

  Caleb pov;

Guarding a group of rich nobles traveling was nothing new to me, it was just another day and another job

I turned to the guard on his horse at my side and whispered, pointing at the last carriage of the ground "psst" I called directing his attention to me "it's only one person inside that carriage right?" I asked him

I was met with an affirmative nod, I turned attention back to the gates of the city "then who was he talking to" I thought to myself
