After the emergency was called off, the rescue and rebuilding efforts began. Groups of people with no fighting experience left the training center to help bring people to healers or to help clean up the mess of the attack.
The healing crew arrived first with more reinforcements. With the help of civilians, they helped create tents for the injured while they went to pick up anyone that was damaged to later bring back.
Then the first responders arrived; their job was to rescue anyone trapped underneath the rubble, but due to miscommunication and lack of personnel, they arrived later than expected. They are the first responders, but the unexpected attack at the dawn of night caused many problems.
The first responders have three people who have formed contracts with the water babies, a C-rank mythological being.
There are five fires around the town; they separated while they tried to connect with another person with a water-based mythological being to try and contain the fires.
Their efforts were unsuccessful; the other water-based mythological beings are either injured or out of town to try and collect other mythologies.
Luckily the two fires are in the outskirts of the town, where the people are hiding inside their homes, and they have access to a B-rank mythological being to protect them and guide them away from the fire.
The three fires in the center of the town are extinguished, leaving behind a large cloud of smoke.
At this point the sun begins to rise, people are being healed, rescued, and pronounced dead, and most importantly, everyone is united to help.
Powerless people have joined the battleground to help the injured people. They help evacuate buildings that are on the brink of falling and sacrifice their lives to help those underneath the rubble.
Hours pass by without anyone noticing; everyone is trying their best to rescue and clear zones to begin the reconstruction period. It would have normally taken days to reach this level, but a collective effort and the abilities that people have made it take less time than normal.
Yves feels a warm heat ray hitting his face; it’s annoying him, a light beaming directly at him. He doesn't want to get up; his position is way too comfortable.
Yves then hears some footsteps; he doesn't pay too much attention to it, but his mind is still in his world.
Yves feels someone tapping his cheeks, a soft hand poking him. He feels ticklish and lets out a small smile.
Yves opens his eyes; he sees a silhouette. It is out of focus, but he can see that it is someone young, wearing what appears to him to be a fuzz of pink or yellow.
His eyes squint; they get out of focus. He then sees a young girl looking at him in confusion. The young girl is wearing a beautiful pink dress, making her look like a princess.

Yves smiled; his day started incredibly; he felt so happy seeing something so adorable first thing in the morning.
“Where is your mother?”
The young girl looks at him in surprise. “She is over there, near the tent.”
“That’s good.” Yves looked beside him; his eyes widened.
He is surprised to see both Leia and Fabio sleeping so profoundly; he carefully tries to move away, but he can’t bring himself to move as he is hypnotized by Leia’s beauty while sleeping.
The sunlight makes her skin radiate; her light brown complexion shines beautifully with the light. Fabio also appears like a model the way he is sleeping, with his head resting on the remains of a tree.
During this time the young girl looks in astonishment as Yves is moving his head in many strange ways, shaking as if he is ticklish.
Fabio opened his eyes, his gaze looking tired, his mouth clenched together, his lips cracked, and his eyes drowsy.
His face quickly regains itself after he looks at Yves. He raises his hands to let Yves go. He looks at Leia and shakes her violently.
Yves sees this and is shocked, as he is very happy to see her sleeping, but now her body is shaking as if she is on top of a washing machine.
Slap
Leia slaps Fabio, his cheek burning red.
Leia wakes up; she looks at Fabio smiling; she then looks at Yves looking extremely confused, combined with her being outside, overheats her brain.
“What happened?”
“You don’t remember?” Yves responded but then remembered that she collapsed after he told her to use her powers, so he decided to not continue with that thought.
“I don’t remember. Why am I outside?”
A group of women rush to them. They then get escorted to the training center. Fabio tried to explain that he was fine, but they didn’t buy it. They want to be one hundred percent sure that they are fine.
Yves looks at the town after the disaster; he can’t believe how much it changed in just the span of a day.
A sudden wave of realization brought him to his knees.
The women looked back at him, their eyes widened, and alarms started ringing in their heads.
Yves remembered how he defeated the Skinwalker with no help and with abilities he never knew he had.
He saw how the women started panicking; he stood up, extended his hand, and tried to release the ink.
He tried but nothing came out, it lowered his spirits but led him to arrive at two conclusions.
The first is that he can only use his abilities after he feels his emotions being eliminated, making him calm and more concentrated.
The second one is that he still has no idea why this is happening and that he can’t depend on that sudden clarity and has to do something in case he is unable to enter that zone.
“I am fine,” Yves smiled before walking away, leaving the rest behind.
The walk to the training center is very quiet, everywhere he goes is filled with people reunited but no one dares to make a sound.
It is a time of mourning for the death of people. Yves knows that there will be stricter laws regarding people entering and increasing safety.
As he was walking, Yves heard something that caught his attention.
He saw two people talking about the creatures involved in the attack.
“Did you hear that the beings that attacked us were both wendigos and skinwalkers?”
“What? How is that even possible?”
“I don’t know, but that is what the higher-ups are saying.”
Yves wanted to talk but ultimately decided to keep quiet as if they didn’t reveal the information, it was for a reason.
However, the more he walked, the more something was bothering Yves; he felt that someone was in charge of this attack. His gut feeling is telling him that an external factor had a role in the attack; as for Yves, he can’t wrap his mind around a scenario in which a Wendigo will join forces with a Skinwalker.
How could their attacks be so coordinated? Nothing's making sense. I don’t know how many Wendys were there, but everything appears to be too much of a coincidence for me not to suspect an external force that coordinated and did the attack. But why? Why did they attack?
