Chapter 39: I Am Not That Person

Chapter 39 I Am Not That Person

Her delicate skin was lit up by the lamp, and fine white downy hair appeared, like a baby's. However, the obvious tear stains on her cheeks were still eye-catching, revealing that she had cried, and not lightly, because the hair strands hanging down to her cheeks were all soaked through, wet and stuck together.

This is his wife, whom he married almost a month ago, pure as a sheet of white paper. Others thought so, and he did too.

He didn't understand her at all and never wanted to, this marriage had no meaning for him. After ignoring her for a week, if his adoptive father hadn't asked him to take her home, he would have almost forgotten that there was such a woman in one of his residences.

Perhaps, people are born with a kind of reverse psychology. He has always been high and mighty, never having anyone dare to ignore his existence or not take him seriously, while she has the ability to make him feel worthless in front of her.

He thought it was a woman's coquettishness. He had always disliked such tactics. It wasn't until now that he realized she really didn't take him seriously, just because he wasn't the one in her heart.

He didn't care, but he couldn't bear the feeling of having married another man's woman, it made him feel like he had eaten a green-headed fly.

He can tolerate a strange woman entering his territory, but he cannot tolerate someone else's woman as his wife. What is he? Picking up someone else's broken shoes? Wearing a green hat before it even becomes a reality?

He has never been so ridiculous in his life!!

A cold smile spread across his face, he clenched the fist beside him tightly, the alcohol burning in his stomach, spreading to all four limbs, making him feel like his whole body was on fire, a stifling breath stuck in his chest, causing his entire body to ache.

What is she crying about? Marrying him and being so wronged? Now, it should be him who's crying!

He really should have grabbed her and thrown her out of the door!

The person by the bed moved slightly, and the thing clutched in their palm revealed a corner. The fleeting brilliance suddenly stung his eyes. He squatted down, pinching the exposed small half of the brooch, but she seemed to have felt something and grasped it even tighter.

He roughly pulled the brooch out of her palm, without caring whether the edge of the brooch would scratch her delicate hand or not. Xue also woke up with a start due to this sudden movement.

She gazed at the person in front of her, still thinking it was him who had returned. But before she could continue her dream, his unfeeling and icy voice shattered it: "Don't look at me with that gaze, I'm not that person!"

The snow fell heavily, and she was startled to find him too close to her. She hastily retreated backward, but found that her legs were numb from being curled up for too long, and her entire body fell again, bumping into the bedhead cabinet behind her. Ignoring the pain in her legs, she stared wide-eyed at the person slowly standing up in front of her. What did he just say? Who was that person? Who was it? What did he know?

Cang Mu simply stared at her with an expressionless face, his eyes filled with indifference, disgust, and even mockery.

He raised his left hand and his gaze shifted to the brooch on his chest, his voice calm and unruffled: "Who gave it?" In fact, he didn't need to ask, he already knew perfectly well.

Xue Luo's only reaction when she saw the brooch in his hand was to pounce on him and grab it: "Give it back to me!"

He didn't live up to her expectations, however, and with a slight tilt of his body, he raised his hand, causing her to lunge at nothing. But she couldn't let it go, as if he had stolen the thing she treasured most. She went berserk, using every ounce of strength she possessed, determined to get it back, even if it meant getting hurt in the process.
