Chapter 18: The Beginning of Training

Chapter Eighteen: The Beginning of Training

At the sound of a whistle, everyone gathered and formed two neat rows.

The officer in charge of training looks like he's only in his early twenties, but his military rank is already that of a lieutenant colonel. Su Qing also doesn't know if this person has any background, but with such achievements at such a young age, it's no surprise that he will have a bright future ahead of him.

"My surname is Ning. I will be in charge of your training this time. You can call me Instructor Ning." The instructor gave a relatively warm self-introduction as soon as he came up.

"This instructor seems to be from the Special Forces Brigade, I've seen him once." Someone in the team whispered.

"From the start of training, you will be treated as ordinary soldiers and must obey my orders. No unauthorized talking is allowed, and if there's something to say, report it." Officer Ning emphasized discipline seriously, seemingly dissatisfied with someone speaking out.

"First, run 2000 meters around the playground, then do some warm-up exercises. Now, everyone turn left and start running." Before the female team members could react, the instructor had already started them off on their run.

Su Qing and the others started running under the leadership of the instructor, during which not only Su Qing but all the team members saw that the old men in the military district were drinking tea and eating snacks by the training field. In order not to lose face at home, the ladies who didn't exercise much on ordinary days also persisted.

But this loose team is not a soldier after all, and there is no such consciousness. As expected, someone made a mistake.

"It's not like we're preparing for an activity, running 1,800 meters is enough. Not running 2,000 meters, I'm exhausted." A girl complained involuntarily as they were about to reach the finish line.

"In the team, speaking casually without reporting. Everyone runs an extra kilometer." The girl didn't think that her words would make everyone have to continue running and was filled with regret. The boy was fine, he was used to running all day during military training before. But those girls had only participated in school's casual military training, now they also had to be punished because of someone else's mistake. One by one, they glared at the girl with resentment, except for Su Qing and Guo Wenjiao. These two didn't mind whether it was an extra kilometer or not, besides, this running exercise was probably the easiest subject in training.

After running, the boys were fine, but the girls were panting heavily. Two of them even sat down on the ground, but when the instructor shouted "stand up", they quickly got up. Under Ning's leadership, everyone did a thorough warm-up exercise, and the female team members also took the opportunity to catch their breath and rest.

"Below, free running, male team members ten thousand meters, female team members five thousand. Whoever finishes first will rest first." Ten thousand meters is a piece of cake for these male team members, but several female team members' faces fell. These delicate ladies had never run such a long distance at once before.

At the instructor's command, everyone started running. The boys were very fast and the girls were left far behind at first. Guo Wenjiao had indeed practiced a lot and could barely keep up with the boys. At the beginning, the girls' speed was not too slow, and Su Qing ran with them. Su Qing basically maintained a steady pace, while others couldn't. As a result, Su Qing also pulled away from the other girls, getting farther and farther away. Su Qing kept an eye on Guo Wenjiao's speed in front of her, maintaining a certain distance.

Five thousand meters was no difficulty for Su Qing, not even a single drop of sweat. However, to appear normal, Su Qing made herself sweat profusely and pretended to be out of breath at the finish line. Despite this, she still earned the admiration of her teammates. Guo Wenjiao arrived second at the finish line, and had never trained before. Compared to the other female team members, she was in a completely different league, with one girl even unable to finish the run due to dizziness.

The instructor probably thought that the physical quality of these female team members was too poor, so they just practiced formation and stood at attention for the rest of the morning. The boys didn't have it easy either, doing push-ups, running, and pull-ups, completing a set in one morning.

Guo Wenjiao felt that the military training was unnecessary for herself. She applied to train with the boys and the instructor agreed. Su Qing wasn't interested in the training, whatever they did was all the same to her. But those girls looked at Guo Wenjiao with a strange gaze, as if saying "I knew she would show off". However, they forgot one thing, showing off also requires capital and strength.

The morning training ended, and a group of girls complained about the hardship and tiredness. In the afternoon gathering, half of the girls were missing, leaving only four people. The two girls other than Su Qing and Guo Wenjiao looked at each other, seemingly regretting coming to the training ground again in the afternoon to suffer.

The first training session in the afternoon was still running. The team members ran 10,000 or 5,000 meters again. In the afternoon, the girls added sit-ups to their training program. A total of two groups did eighty, and two girls couldn't hold on, lying directly on the mat. Su Qing looked at the instructor and thought, was he not willing to train the girls, wanting the team members to give up voluntarily?

Su Qing guessed that if she didn't attend training tomorrow, there would only be one girl left, Guo Wenjiao.

As the day's training came to an end, Su Qing was about to leave when Guo Wenjiao walked up beside her and said, "I hope you can still hold on tomorrow and not become a deserter."

Su Qing raised her head and took a glance, smiling: "Don't worry, I won't let you down."

The next day, only two girls were left. Su Qing couldn't train alone, so everyone trained together again. The intensity of the training was much higher than the first day, and there were more projects to complete. In just one morning, Su Qing ran 10,000 meters, did 100 sit-ups, 50 push-ups, and some balance exercises. She deliberately made a great effort to complete the training requirements, not wanting to hold anyone back or be considered a weak link. Except for Su Qing, everyone else was used to participating in training, but Su Qing was able to keep up with the high-intensity training without falling behind on her first try. The others looked at Su Qing, who was normally unremarkable, with newfound respect, wondering how long she could keep it up.

Su Chen saw his sister's exhausted look and came over to Su Qing during break time.

"Qingqing, are you okay?" Su Chen asked with concern.

"Brother, don't worry, I'm fine. Just a bit tired." Su Qing actually didn't feel tired at all, but pretending to be tired wasn't easy. Su Qing thought that after the training ended, the acting skills she had practiced could be used as an actress.

The other team members also gathered over soon after.

"Sū Chén you xiǎo zǐ gòu biàn tài, wǒ kàn nǐ mèi mèi gèng lì hài." The speaker is Dīng Yú Xī, who grew up with Sū Chén in the same compound.

"Those big sisters didn't come today, and Su Qing can still hold on." Another young man said.

"This quality is even better than my cousin's, running speed is very fast, right Wengiao?" This is Guo Wengiao's older cousin Zhang Mingyu.

"This is just the beginning, I'll only admit it if you can hold on till the end." Guo Wenjiao said provocatively, and in her heart, she also hoped that this not-so- delicate and pretentious little sister could make it.

"Su Qing has been insisting on morning runs for several years, and it seems to be very effective." Su Chen thinks that Su Qing's daily insistence on running laid a solid foundation for this time.

"Su Qing, come on, hold on until the training is over, I'll treat you to a big meal." Zhou Yang also chimed in to cheer Su Qing on. Guo Wenjiao was also considered half of the Beijing Military Region, but she grew up in the Southwest Military Region. If Su Qing couldn't hold on either, it would somewhat lose face for the Beijing Military Region.

"Zhou Yang is so petty, just one meal and he wants to get rid of me, next time we should invite everyone together." Su Qing retorted jokingly.

"Don't worry, training is over, I'll treat you to a big meal." Zhou Yang readily agreed.

I hope everyone will continue to support and vote more. Thank you.
