I stared at the door after the aeldari left. It had been hours, but I have been... preoccupied. I was questioning my purpose. Why did I do the things I did and the like. And so far, the answers disturbed me.

I am immortal. Not just the ageless kind, but the unkillable type too. I have fought for millenia and slept thousands of years longer. And yet... sigh It is as predicted, really.

When we were changed in the fires of biotransference, our minds changed, along with our bodies. Our souls died, and we remained. Ghosts of our selves. Shells.

We died in the Flames, and all that remained was uncaring, ever hating necrodermis. It... was disappointing. We were immortal, with immortal problems.

Boredom, lethargy, the 'It can wait' attitude, superiority complex, and more besides. It limits us in ways these organics arnt. I... hate them for it. Distane their indifference, their blindness. But... they are something I can never be again. sigh

The dynasty? Essentially dead. To rule over organics? I... tire of rule. My kin... I failed them. I am... undeserving. A failure.

Perhaps I should wander. To follow in the footsteps of The Silent King... a good enough plan. I think I will stabilize the dynasty, and ensure integration. Set things up for a place to return if I want. But... I can't stay here in this shadow of desolation. Of my mistakes and of history. I want something new. Something... interesting.

"Overlord, it is done. Your labyrinths are prepared." The cryptek said. I nodded and grabbed the two offered labyrinths. They were made to house canoptek constructs and his weapon collection. I wanted an army in my pocket.

I nodded at the cryptek, dismissing them, before returning to his list. It was of the things I would take when I was finished. The only major thing was that he was taking a Seraptek. But, that was for later.

He switched views, it was time for standing orders...

Task after task I completed, and it was soon time. I would be taking a Scythe for transportation along with fighters, but he doubted the need. But I was cautious. No need to remake myself prematurely.

It was time to wander the galaxy, see the sights, and perhaps meet an emperor.
