Chapter Ninety-Four
Lisa the nanny opened the door, and three big men stood at the entrance. "Excuse me, is this Dr. Jerry's office?" asked the white man on the left, a handsome American in his thirties with deep facial features and a smiling face.
"Dr. Jerry, someone is looking for you." Lisa said, stepping aside.
As soon as the three of them entered the room, it immediately felt much smaller. It was obvious that the man in the middle was the boss! The two men on either side, who were over 2 meters tall and had sturdy builds, looked fierce and should be bodyguards. And the one who spoke earlier, with a refined appearance, should be some kind of secretary.
"Lisa, Sally, take the kids out to play." Fang Mornan glanced at them and said to the nannies. The two of them saw this and carried the children towards the pediatric ward, where there was a small playground.
"I'm Jerry, what can I do for you?" Jerry said, looking at them.
"Hello! I'm Alexis, and this is my boss, Ronnie Alexander Hamilton. We're from New York."
Jerry looked at the three big men, who were all wet and obviously caught off guard by the sudden heavy rain. Despite their disheveled appearance, the middle man's pale face and clothes clinging to his body couldn't hide his naturally cold and aloof demeanor.
"It's better if you three wash up first." Jerry looked at the three of them and said, "If there are no clean clothes to change into, would wearing hospital gowns be okay?" he suggested.
Alex looked at his boss in front of him and heard a cold voice say: "Good!"
Jerry called and asked the nurse to bring three sets of loose hospital gowns. "There's a private bathroom here, whoever wants to use it."
Roni took over the patient's clothes and walked into the bathroom. "Boss," Alexis said worriedly, but was immediately shut up by Roni's cold glance.
The remaining two people were taken away by nurses for a bath. After they left, Jerry asked eagerly: "Nan Nan, what do you think?"
Fang Mo Nan raised an eyebrow and rubbed his nose. "Hmmm! That old boss Hamilton has terminal liver cancer."
His face was waxen yellow, his right hand unconsciously pressed against the liver area, it should be very painful. Jerry knocked on the armrest of the sofa: "And he didn't receive any treatment, his hair is still thick and dense. Apparently, he knew that his life was not long. Early liver cancer is difficult to detect, once detected, it's basically terminal."
"Hmm!" Fang Mo Nan nodded, but she was surprised that Jerry was a neurosurgeon. How did they find him, unless... Agnes had said something.
"Nan Nan, are you sure? This illness is not easy to cure." Jerry frowned and said.
"Let's see!" Fang Mo Nan said calmly. "It's still too early to say now!"
About twenty minutes later, Ronnie came out of the bathroom first, wearing a loose hospital gown that hung loosely on him. Fang Mo-nan stared at him carefully, and he was thin except for his head, almost skin and bones everywhere else, especially his abdomen which was bulging. That was swelling. Possibly due to pain and discomfort caused by the tumor itself, constipation, emotional tension and depression, as well as intestinal candidiasis, etc., resulting in a lack of interest in food. Moreover, frequent hiccups were caused by tumors stimulating the diaphragm due to stomach, lower esophagus or liver cancer, which further worsened the patient's condition due to spiritual and nutritional deficiencies.
"Sit down!" Jerry had just said, when Alex and another person came in, wearing new shirts and pants, with their hair still dripping water. "You two sit down too."
Jerry looked at Ronnie and said: "You've got liver cancer. Who told you to come find me?"
Roni heard his words, very calm, without even blinking, as if it wasn't about him, and spat out a person's name, "Agnes". Despite the severe pain in his body, he tried his best to maintain his elegant and cold demeanor.
"It's really her, humph! Die with dignity and live with suffering." Fang Mo Nan looked at his stubborn appearance.
Fang Mo Nan looked at the patient Ronnie, over thirty years old, with a ordinary build in Western standards, sharp facial features carved like a knife, deep brown hair and calm emerald green eyes, exuding an icy chill all over his body. Hmm! He can indeed endure.
"Then did Agnes tell you about the specific situation?" Jerry asked.
Alec caught his boss's eye and said, "Agnes says Jerry can find the man who can cure my boss - Fang Mernan." What a mouthful.
Jerry pointed at Fang Mo Nan who was sitting on a single sofa and said, "Hey! She is the doctor you are looking for."
Alexis's eyes widened, pointing at her, stuttering, "S-she..." He looked at the boss who was obviously frightened, this Agnes wasn't kidding! "L-lord..."
Roni gave a cold glance, and Alexis immediately shut up. He slightly raised an eyebrow and said: "You cured Agnes' ovarian cancer."
"Hmm!" Fang Mo Nan nodded. Amusingly watching them, it's indeed the emperor not being anxious but the eunuch being anxious, that Alex guy was staring at her with eyes like searchlights, sizing her up from head to toe.
"So I'll leave my illness to you." Ronnie said coldly. A woman like Agnes didn't have the guts to cheat him.
Fang Mo Nan raised an eyebrow, and he was straightforward. "I need your detailed medical history." She's also quite interested now, a white mouse delivered to her doorstep, not to be wasted. "Jerry, you take his pulse first."
"Uh-huh! Okay." Jerry said.
Fang Mo Nan opened the medical record, slowly flipping through it. The detailed records of Ronnie's examination data, physical condition, and various treatment plans during this period were all signed by famous doctors in the United States.
During this period, he studied Western medicine and had a good understanding of the various treatments for his illness. However, judging from the situation, he was not satisfied with these treatment plans and did not adopt any of them. It can be said that he clearly knew his condition and did not intend to make an effort, intending to wait for death instead! Taking medication was just to reduce some suffering.
After Fang Mengnan saw Jerry finish the injection, he asked: "Your private doctor should have made it very clear to you that I...". The implication was that she didn't dare make any guarantees.
Americans usually have a fixed private doctor who is responsible for their health problems in the long term and is also very familiar with their physical condition. Once they feel uncomfortable, they will first consult their private doctor. If the private doctor feels that the condition requires more professional treatment, they will use other doctors.
Alexis caught her implication and said loudly: "You didn't cure Agnes, did you?"
Fang Mo Nan put the medical records on the coffee table and said lightly, "Different personal conditions, that doctor also dare not guarantee a hundred percent cure."
Alexis didn't seem to expect Fang Mo Nan's calm tone, he raised his hand and pointed at Fang Mo Nan, shouting "Do you know who we are?"
"Shut up." Roni said calmly. Several people looked at each other. Not knowing who he was referring to, he added: "Alexis, get out." His eyes coldly warned Alexis.
Alex stormed out, giving Fang Mo Nan a fierce stare before leaving.
Fang Mo Nan helplessly shrugged her shoulders, of course she knew that these people were extraordinary. This demeanor couldn't be put on by ordinary successful people, and the signatures on the medical records were all famous doctors. Without sufficient capital, how could they afford to invite them? So she had to say the ugly words first, it wasn't like the minor illnesses of the past. The preventive injection was a must!
"Teacher Jerry, what do you think?" Fang Mo Nan looked at him with a face as gloomy as the dense dark clouds outside the window.
Jerry came to his senses and gave a suggestion, "Accompany your family and enjoy the quiet time." He shook his head helplessly and was also at a loss for what to do with the current situation. It's unknown whether the patient can hold on for two more months.
Rongni looked at Fang Mo Nan, a slight smile on his face. The result was even more unsightly than crying, "Doctor Fang, I'm sorry to trouble you. Regardless of whether it's cured or not, you don't have to take any responsibility."
Jerry moved over and whispered: "Nan Nan, you'd better feel his pulse first, it's terrible."
Fang Mo Nan also said in a low voice: "From the medical records, it's very clear that it's really bad, but I'm going to try anyway."
Jerry immediately became anxious and said, "This is a matter of life and death, it can't be taken lightly. If there's no great confidence, I think it's better to be cautious." He raised his voice and continued, "Don't forget that you haven't obtained your medical license yet, if this goes wrong, it could cost someone their life."
Roni didn't expect Jerry to stop him so desperately, even saying that Fang Mo Nan wasn't a qualified doctor. He immediately spoke up: "I'm already a 'dead' man, in your Chinese words, it's treating a dead horse as if it were alive, you can rest assured and treat me."
"We have a responsibility to our patients, we can't just try anything!" Jerry continued, still not wanting her to take the risk.
Roni looked at Fang Mo Nan, no matter how Jerry said it, the final decision was in her hands. "I will sign a guarantee letter that does not require taking responsibility, and my entourage will also sign on it." He said to another person: "Call Alexis in."
After Alex came in, he heard the boss say so and had to follow the rules. He wrote a letter of guarantee, signed his name, and called Fang Mo Nan. His face was always serious and cautious, but also helpless. The boss's order was not to be disobeyed.
"Fang Mo Nan said: 'Teacher Jerry just said it, a doctor has to be responsible for his patients! I can come up with a plan that has some confidence in it. Although it's not guaranteed to cure the disease, at least it won't make the situation worse. The key is whether you have a strong will to fight against the illness.'"
Roni's tightly strung heart relaxed a bit, she didn't refuse, that's good. But her words were just for show, and he sincerely hoped she wasn't all talk, but had some real skills, after all, he still didn't want to die.
Jerry was helpless, since Fang Mo Nan said he had some confidence, so he could only try to see, Fang Mo Nan's temper he also understood, the more difficult the disease, the more others couldn't cure it, as a doctor, everyone wants to try, stimulate fighting spirit.
Jerry said: "How do you plan to treat it?"
"Fang Mo Nan said: 'Mr. Luo Ni, first stretch out your left hand and let me take your pulse to understand the specific condition of your illness.'"
Roni stretched out his left hand, and Fang Mernan's warm three fingers landed on his wrist, concentrating his energy, a thread of spiritual energy passing through his wrist into his body. After circulating for a while, she understood the condition and said, "Jerry teacher, have someone prepare a sterile operating room." She pointed to her head.
Jierry understood that the operating room equipment didn't need to be perfect, as long as it was sterile. He also looked forward to curing the disease like last time. "I'll go prepare."
"Sorry to trouble you, teacher." Fang Mo Nan said. After Jerry left, Fang Mo Nan turned around and said to Ronnie: "Let me tell you about the treatment plan: for acute conditions, treat the symptoms; for chronic conditions, treat the root cause. Your liver is basically dead and you're also experiencing edema. So my first step is to improve your liver's regenerative function and reduce the swelling. I'll be using some special treatments and Chinese medicine. Once your liver's regenerative function improves, cell regeneration will occur and other functions will recover."
"These two processes will take about a month or so!" Fang Mo Nan looked at Ronnie, "Can you accept that?"
"Alright!" Ronnie said, whatever she says goes, and this treatment has been going on for over a month now, the doctor said he only had three months to live, or even less.
"Jerry came in and said: 'The operating room is ready.'"
