Chapter 6: What Youre Curious About

  "My home."

He Mingzhen turned on the light, and his tall back cast a shadow on the floor under the lamp.

Wen Qi admitted that she had been curious about everything about He Mingzhen, including his family.

She remembered that in her sophomore year, she had a severe ankle sprain and went to a foreign-funded hospital far from school just to see Dr. He Mingzhen. That was the first time he sent her home, and when he asked where she wanted to go, she jokingly said she wanted to go to his home.

But all these were old stories from three years ago, and even Wen Qi himself couldnt remember them clearly. Unexpectedly, He Mingzhen still remembered them until now.

Wen Qi smiled dryly, "I... at that time was just joking, didnt think you still remembered."

"Of course I remember." He Mingzhens eyes drooped, filled with a heavy gaze that stared at her intently. So carefully, as if afraid of missing a single detail.

Wen Qi increasingly sensed that the atmosphere was not right, and looking at him in front of her, she suddenly felt afraid. She tried to open her mouth to call out to him: "He Ming Zhen..."

"Hmm?" He Mingzhens face finally got rid of the gloom from just now, and a smile emerged, with shallow dimples on his face that were so captivating.

"Lets go... its too gloomy and cold here." Wen Qi stretched out her hand and gently tugged on He Mingzhens sleeve, her icy fingers instantly falling into his palm.

His grip on her wrist tightened slightly, rendering her unable to move.

Wen Qi almost forgot that He Mingzhen was an orthopedic doctor who made a living with his hands.

Struggled for a while, but all in vain, finally softened his tone: "Go back, okay?"

"Give me some benefits and Ill take you back."

He Mingzhen wrapped her coat tightly around her, holding her in a loose and sloppy embrace, surrounded by the pungent smell of mud.

Wen Qi tiptoed, half-tilting her head just to barely reach his neck. But He Mingzhen not only didnt cooperate, but instead straightened up even more. She could only watch as the lips that were so close to hers moved further away.

"I... cant reach." Wen Qis face turned bright red as she replied truthfully.

He Mingzhen suddenly smiled and lowered her eyelids, saying in a low voice: "Then Ill come?"

"Lets get out of here, shall we?" Wen Qi used her other hand to gently push his body, in this gloomy environment, she didnt want to stay a minute longer.

At this time, the floor was covered with a dense layer of black ants, and Wen Qis eyes widened as she tightly hugged He Mingzhens waist, "Quickly get out, I want to get out..."

"Alright, go out." He Mingzhen slightly raised his eyebrows, almost imperceptibly, and when he closed the door again, a glimmer of light flashed in his eyes, with emotions deep and unfathomable in his narrow and long eyes.

Late at night, vehicles on the street were in constant flow.

Wen Qi sat in the passenger seat, staring at the traffic in front of her, yawning from time to time.

Her unconscious movements were easily caught by He Mingzhen, who also found a coat from somewhere and covered Wen Qis exposed legs. "Were stuck in traffic, itll take a while, you sleep first, Ill wake you up when we arrive."

She took a closer look at the overcoat and recognized it as her own, which she had lost in the private room that day. She didnt know when he had retrieved it.

It turns out that He Mingzhen, a busy person, also remembers such trivial things in his spare time.

A thread of joy surged up in Wen Qis heart. She lowered her head, deliberated repeatedly, and still made a decision.
