When he got there, he felt a pang of pain, and fear.
Mike was the one still breathing, but he was covered in blood, and wounds, he lied.
He used his mana to clean him, and remove any blood that was touching his wounds, in case it was the goblin’s. After making sure he wouldn’t die of blood toxicity, he made magic bandages that did everything normal ones did, and sped up the healing process. He unlocked locked instincts and added a rune of mana storage, and syphon, and a stability rune.
Behind the worry, he wounded if he would unlock more instincts, and maybe eventually actual memories.
He picked up his friend, and started heading back to the camp. When he got there he laid him down. He was too wracked with worry, fear, and regret to fall back asleep so he took the other’s shifts.
He took another look at his stats menu, and split the stats between the void stats. They were too strong to ignore.

Luckily nothing else happened over the night, he was tired but still couldn’t fall asleep.
When he thought it was around 6 o’clock he woke up his friends.
“Yo, holy shit, what happened to Mike?” Ty almost yelled, when he saw their friend. “And what happened to you, man? You look like shit, also why didn’t you wake any of us up?”
“There were 2 goblins last night, we both took one out.”
“Ok, but why didn’t you wake any of us up?” Chris asked.
“Couldn't sleep anyways.”
“Fine, but you aren’t doing anything today?” Justin said.
“How will we get enough fish? It would take the entire day without me giving someone a spear, infinite air, and storage.”
“Well what did you do to make Mike’s bandaids stick?” Jack asked.
“Oh, right I forgot about that,” Radun’s answer made everyone drop their jaws at his mistake. “Fine, I’ll just make some constructs.”
How did he know what that meant? Did it come with the mana runes? It didn’t matter at the moment.
He made 12 spears, and air constructs, and 24 bags, a pair for fish and plants for everyone.
After he did his job he just sat down in the grass, near the now burnt up pyre. At some point laying down, and another where he fell asleep.

He suddenly woke up when he felt someone touch his shoulder. He felt a lot better mentally, but he was starving, and thirsty, and it was dark out.
The guy who shook him, as his vision cleared he noticed it was John, had some food. He tried to get up, but he almost threw up, so he got up slowly. When he was sitting up he grabbed the food and began eating.
He was the type of hungry where you don’t know just how hungry you are until you start to eat. He had 3 sticks of fish.
After eating he felt much better, so he got up, and walked over to the water supply, he splashed his face once, before realizing that he forgot to make cups. He made 13 cups, before reboiling the water, because there was no way it wasn’t nasty again, between it being left in the open air, and the fact that they probably had to use their hands to drink it.
After waiting a few minutes for it to cool down some, he had 5 cups of water.
When he sat down next to the pyre, justin asked, “How are you feeling?”
“Fine, how is Mike?”
“Not great. He’s not in a coma or anything, he’s woken up a few times, but he can barely move without hurting himself.”
“I figured, but I still hoped he was a bit better.”
“It’ll take a while for him to heal.”
“Hopefully not too long, the magic bandaids, and bandages I made helps the healing process.”
“Really? Also when did you learn to make them, and make ‘constructs’, I think that’s what you called the things you made?”
“Yeah, they’ll last way longer, and prevent all infections. I think my skill isn’t fully unlocked, when I saw Mike, it was like new instincts were driven into me, and I knew all that stuff.”
“God, really? Do you think more skills are like that?”
“Definitely not earned skills, but maybe some given skills, hell maybe even all of them. It wouldn’t not make sense.”
“Think that there will be another attack?”
“I don’t know, but make sure that everyone knows to wake me up if there is another.”
“Ok, but you have to be careful.”
“Yeah, but I also need to make sure no one dies.” After he said that there was a comfortable silence as they just watched the fire burn.

For the next week nothing happened, and they were stressing over it.
They tried to make some shelter, and mostly failed, same with making plant fiber mattresses.
Their ‘coach’, of course, did nothing. He just sat back, and ate his rations. He was as big of a dick as ever.
Mike was able to get up and walk around, the bandages were really helping. Soon he might be mostly healed.
They decided to keep up their watch, but to see if the next few goblins would come once a week.
That morning, while collecting some food, Justin noticed 2 goblins, and Radun wondered if half would always show up the morning before the attack. He took care of one, but the other ran away.
“Tonight, if there is any sign of danger, whoever is on shift has to wake the others up, no exclusions,” Radun said hypocritically, but everyone still agreed.
After a while they all fell asleep. Then he was shaken awake.
“Radun, you have to get up, there’re goblins, again!” Justin said with worry, and fear.
