The battle starts, Zara leaps into the air letting gravity do the rest.

  He chants, “Relic Of Creation, Active, Matter Manipulation.”

  Turning the air behind him into glass he steps and leaps on it gaining momentum.

  Ninomiya doesn't bulge.

  A flash of light hits the collision area from Zara’s first strike.

  [Shockwave Hits]

  In the distance Hiori and Alice are affected by the shockwave.

  The ground beneath them melts into a molten mass, the wildlife and flora burn into ashes.

  [Back where Ninomiya is]

  The plasma cleared, Ninomiya caught him with his bare left hand in that instant.

  Ninomiya summons a weapon to his right without a chant. A piece of the melted Earth fortifies, solidifies, concentrates in his hand.

  “Matter manipulation without a chant? Are you a monster?” Zara breaks a sweat.

  “Monster? That's the wrong term. To us you were the monsters.” Ninomiya smiles.

  “We sent them as nothing but a burden on our food. I was sent to discover a world that could be inhabited. Yet when I returned, your army already decimated what I loved, what I liked.” Zara unleashes his anger with those words.

  “Same here, you took what I loved. My emotions, battle after battle I learned you guys were the bad guys and I was good.” Ninomiya laughs.

  Zara broke a tear, “We had no choice, the both of us.”

  The Eye Halo lit up.

  The sky turned red.

  “Relic Of Creation, Active, The Eye Of Despair.”

  Ninomiya didn't dodge it.

  He took it straight on.

  The island along with Ninomiya gets blasted into the ground.

  A pool of magma is what remains, Ninomiya gets up from the pool.

  Half his body is wounded, “Ah, no wonder the Cult of Doom is unmatched.”

  Zara is pulled back by fear, “I could only use that once in my entire life, yet he tanked it.”

  Ninomiya laughs at his pitiful attack, “At least pair it with neutral so I die?”

  Alice gets a bit worried by the magnitude of the attack but after watching Ninomiya walk out of it with an injury she feels safe.

  Ninomiya heals up the wound inflicted, “The Cult of Doom borrows their powers from their God, they don't have a physical relic inside of them. Meaning if the user is far, they have a certain delay. If they die in the delay they die permanently.”

  He preps his sword, Zara feels fear erupting inside him.

  Ninomiya advances his attack, swift and nimble movements.

  Zara tries to strengthen his attacks but ultimately fails. Ninomiya stabs his chest, Zara screams.

  Pulling the sword out he slashes continuously trying to find the timing. Increasing the ferocity he finds it.

  But Zara seemed like he was long dead.

  He whispers, covered in blood, his eyes slashed, half of his head spewing bits of the brain, “I'm sorry everyone, the mission was a failure.”

  Whispers in Zara’s head as he remembers his past.

  “Zara, you will survive no matter what.”

  “Zara, I trust you. Come back with great news.”

  “The residents of Orbit won't let go of the resources.”

  “If we get it, we can sustain our population.”

  “Mali, Dad will surely be back with good news. Your mother will take care of you until then.”

  “Fortress 3, this is Zara of the 2nd dispatch we have found a gateway through the System-E. Spread this to all the worlds, we have been saved, I repeat we have been saved.”

  Zara looks into the darkness where he sees himself in the dark murky blood. A reflection of him tells him crying on his knees.

  “When I opened my eyes. Everything was gone.”

  The red Eye Halo fades into nothing.

  Zara dies.

  Ninomiya looks back at Alice, he smiles as his consciousness fades away.

  Hiori looks down on the ground of the fallen Ninomiya, “I want that power someday.”

  Alice already ran towards Ninomiya, “Maybe you're not all dead. Maybe there is still hope.”
