Chapter Eighty-One A Doll

"No, no!" Li Wenshan hastily apologized, "My sister's courage... is a bit small, but poor people's children are reckless, can't be scared..." Before Li Wenshan could finish speaking, he met Lu Yi's glaring gaze and instantly understood, immediately changing his words to "That thing, one scare and it's ruined!"

Gu Liu let out a sudden laugh, but halfway through it turned into a violent cough. Lu Yi glared at Gu Liu and Li Wenshan, gesturing to the servant boy, "Tell Cuotou to cook some gentle soup that's easy on children's stomachs, something that can calm their nerves would be best."

Li Xia took a bite of the honey-glazed ham and then stopped eating, calling out to Cheng Ying, "You watch over and serve Miss Xia, see what she wants to eat and move some over for her."

The King of Qin and Jin Xuyan stared at each other, almost simultaneously looking away. The King of Qin picked up his tea cup and took a big gulp, while Jin Xuyan grabbed his chopsticks, picked up a piece of bamboo shoots and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing hard.

Li Xia looked timid, occasionally glancing at the dishes on the table. Cheng Ying stood beside her, following her gaze, and picked up some of the dishes she was looking at, putting them into a small bowl in front of her.

Lu Yi ignored Qin Wang and Jin Xue's words, only looking at Li Xia, occasionally helping her move the bowl or pull her sleeve.

Gu Liu and Li Wenshan both lowered their heads and focused on eating.

The King of Qin drank cup after cup of tea, while Jin Zhiyan devoured the stir-fried bamboo shoots in the dish.

The crows and sparrows ate in silence, fully in line with the ancient etiquette of "not speaking while eating".

The King of Qin probably drank tea and got bloated, pushed away the cup and stood up, "Slow down." He walked to the couch by the window, leaned on the couch and looked at the scenery.

Jin Zhiyan continued eating the bamboo shoots from his bowl one by one.

Gu Liu and Li Wenshan exchanged a glance, both of them put down their chopsticks. Gu Liu stood up, turned around, picked up the plate of green bean cake, walked to the window, and before he could sit down, was waved away by Qin Wang, who chased him out along with the cake.

Li Wenshan looked at Li Xia, who was still lowering his head to eat the shrimp in his bowl. Lu Yi saw that he had a worried face and smiled, "Don't worry, Xia eats very little, it seems like not enough, I'll ask the kitchen to steam some egg custard later." As Lu Yi spoke, he glanced at the back of Qin Wang.

"I'm done eating." Li Xia put down her chopsticks after finishing a shrimp.

Cheng Ying handed over the wet handkerchief, and Xiao Shuai sent it over. Li Wenshan hastily grabbed it, "I'll do it, I'll do it." He said, pulling Li Xia aside and walking several steps away, squatting down to wipe Li Xia's face. Unconsciously glancing at Lu Yi, who had stood up to instruct the servant, and Jin Qianyan, who had finished eating the bamboo shoots and walked over to the window on the other side, he whispered in a very low voice, "Let's go, his temper is too big."

"It's okay, just wait a bit." Li Xia turned her head and glanced at Qin Wang, who was sitting by the window, fanning himself while gazing out at West Lake.

Li Wenshan heard Li Xia say "it's nothing" and his heart immediately fell back into place. He carefully wiped Li Xia's hands and face, stood up, looked at the four people standing around, hesitated for a moment about where to go next, when Lu Yi beckoned Li Xia over.

Li Wenshan hurriedly pulled Li Xia over, while Lu Yi squatted down and whispered: "Ah Xia, can you take these two bowls of yogurt over and eat with the prince?"

Li Xia nodded, and Jin Cuishan also ate a plate of bamboo shoots. The old man only drank a pot of tea.

Lu Yi let out a sigh of relief, stood up and pulled Li Wen Shan, looking at Li Xia following the small servant carrying two bowls of yogurt, walking to the bed.

Li Xiaochong patted the low table, "Put it here." As he spoke, his two hands supported him on the couch, and he crawled up, shifted around, turned around, and sat down properly. He looked at Qin Wang, who was staring at her, and pushed the bowl of cream from Qin Wang's side to his own side.

"You eat yours, I don't want to eat." Qin Wang seemed like he still hadn't vented his anger.

Li Xia pointed at the bowl of yogurt with her finger and looked at Qin Wang.

"What do you mean? You don't eat and I don't eat?" Qin Wang put away the folding fan, looked at Li Xia, then looked again at Li Xia's plump finger pointing to the rim of the bowl.

Li Xia quickly nodded. She was full, and besides, this cheese wasn't steamed for her anyway.

The King of Qin turned his head sideways and stood by another window, talking to Li Wenshan while glancing at Lu Yi.

"It's delicious." Li Xia looked at him with a glance towards Lu Yi and said softly.

The King of Qin looked at her for a while, put down his fan and said, "If I don't eat, you won't eat either?"

  Li Xia nodded.

"Alright, I'll accompany you for dinner." Qin Wang furrowed his brow, with a helpless expression.

Li Xia looked at him, already knowing the situation, but still pretending to be helpless and reluctant to eat, thinking of laughing and scolding him at the same time. She suppressed her smile and speechlessness, sat down beside the low table, lowered her head and ate her bowl of millet porridge.

The two of them finished eating the yogurt, and the young servant took away the bowl, bringing over the box of fruit juice candies for Li Xia.

Li Xia took the sugar, one hand holding the sugar box and the other propping it up, moved to Qin Wang's side, put the sugar box between them, lowered her head, first picked a piece from the sugar box and put it in her own mouth, then pulled Qin Wang's sleeve, indicating that he should also pick one.

The King of Qin glanced at Li Xia, then looked away, casting a sideways glance at Jin Cuiyan standing straight by the window on the other side, not knowing what she was looking at, and popped a piece of sugar into his mouth.

Li Xia let out a sigh of relief, swung his legs, ate sweets and admired the beautiful scenery of West Lake in front of him.

Li Xia ate five or six pieces of sugar in a row. Qin Wang stretched out his hand to pick up the sugar box and handed it to the young servant, "Just eat these, can't eat too much. If you like to eat, I'll let someone make more and send them over for you."

Li Xia nodded cleverly, stretched out her fingers, and let the King of Qin wipe them for her. She then rinsed her mouth with the basin presented by the young servant, and afterwards swung her legs while taking in the view.

"Did your fifth brother say you've read the Thousand Character Classic?" Not eating sugar, looking at the scenery, Li Xia didn't care, but Qin Wang felt bored himself, and Ah Xia must have found it even more boring. Might as well chat instead.

  "Hmm." Li Xia nodded.

"Do you recognize all the characters inside?"

  "Hmm." Li Xia nodded again.

"Ah Xia is really clever." The King of Qin praised, Li Xia's swinging legs paused for a moment, she wasn't really clever!

"Did your fifth brother say he loves you the most?" Qin Wang turned his head to glance at Li Wenshan, who kept looking over in his direction from time to time.

"Uh, Sixth Brother also dotes on me the most." Li Xia added a few more words.

"Then who is your father's favorite?"

  "Older brother."

  "Where is your mother?"

  "Sister."

The King of Qin smiled, "Then who does your sister love most? Your sixth brother?"

  I.

"Your father loves your fifth brother the most, your mother loves your sister the most. Your fifth brother, your sister and your sixth brother all love you the most, so your sixth brother is really pitiful." Qin Wang concluded.

"I'm most worried about Sixth Brother." Li Xia thought to herself, indeed, Sixth Brother was quite pitiful in his past life, and this life definitely couldn't let him be pitiful again.

The King of Qin smiled and said, "Are you most fond of your sixth brother, or have you heard that no one is fond of him, so you are the most fond of him?"

Li Xia glanced at Qin Wang, her heart filled with hesitation. As a five-year-old child, what should she say? She just wasn't interested in sweets, flowers, or powder and didn't bother to look, but Guo Sheng had already noticed that something was off about her.
