Chapter Thirty-two: Taiji in the Park

The whole way was quiet to the point of being eerie. Lin Luoran didn't know what she was feeling, her face flushing and heart racing, as she sat in Liu Zhuo's car on the way home.

She only remembered that later on, Liu Zhuo escorted her downstairs and just opened his mouth to say: "A temporary measure..."

Lin Luoran interrupted him loudly: "I know!" Her face turned red like a monkey's butt, as if someone had put a fire on her back and she hastily got off the car and fled.

Liu Zhaoyan's eyes were filled with amusement as she gazed at Lin Luoran's fiery figure, but instead of finding it laughable, she was reminded of the rare sight of Lin Luoran not being her usual elegant self.

Lin Luoran rushed upstairs like she was being chased by a ghost, and only after drinking two cups of water did the redness on her face subside. After calming down, she found herself laughing at her own foolishness - she wasn't some lovesick young girl, and today her skin had been way too thin.

She wandered into the space, randomly picked some small tomatoes to eat, and looked at the thriving ginseng with a somewhat embarrassed expression.

Today, however, Liu Zha helped out, and she also refused to admit it. Taking advantage of the tall man's distraction, she managed to get away with it. But now that the ginseng is growing in her space, she can deceive everyone else, but not her own conscience.

What else should I bring back?

After washing up, she sat on the blanket she had bought specifically for this purpose, adopting the meditation posture she saw on TV. She recalled that when Liu Zhen dragged her onto the car, the man said his surname was Muo and his name was Nan, shouting that it wouldn't end like this. Lin Luoer couldn't help but laugh. Since he said it wouldn't end like this, then there would always be opportunities to compensate him in the future. She might as well wait for him to come find her instead.

Lin Luoran put aside his worries, perked himself up, gradually slowed down his breathing, and after adjusting his state, he began to wrestle with the spiritual energy inside his body again.

Although cultivation emphasizes following one's heart, there is also the concept of cause and effect. Lin Luoran did not know at this time that her lack of greed and understanding of giving and taking had prevented her from leaving a flaw in her Dao heart from the very beginning, laying hidden dangers for her future cultivation.

The pearls emitted a soft, hazy glow in the moonlight, Lin Luoer's body and mind were both calm, the spiritual energy inside her flowed slowly like mercury, but when it encountered narrow meridians, it couldn't pass through.

Lin Luoran was originally like a reed, which could not be trampled to death in adversity. She did not get discouraged even if she failed once or twice, but instead, she strove to guide the spiritual energy along the meridians to move and impact the bottleneck of the meridians repeatedly.

One night of cultivation, unknowingly until dawn, the bottle neck had not yet broken through, but the spiritual energy had condensed a little. What was strange was that after cultivating for one night, not only did he not feel tired, but he felt refreshed and invigorated. Lin Luoran thought that cultivation was the most wonderful thing in the world.

It's almost dawn anyway, Lin Luoran didn't have time to sleep either, so she simply washed her face and went downstairs for a morning exercise.

There are no local events in the neighborhood, and Lin Luoran's place is not far from the park. She ran all the way there, considering it a form of exercise.

The survival pressure in the city has created a fast-paced life for urban people, with many people attending social events at night and working during the day, busy like a spinning top that doesn't stop. In the park, there are only retired elderly men and women who have come of age, but no young people like Lin Luo Ran.

Lin Luoran felt embarrassed to compete with the elderly ladies for the limited fitness equipment, so she could only exercise her limbs in the park. She was beautiful and stood out among a group of old men and women, making her even more noticeable.

Lin Luoran was completely unaware of it, for at this moment she was watching an old man in a white robe practicing Tai Chi in the center of the park with rapt attention.

In today's advanced information age, Tai Chi is even more revered by many as a way of nourishing life. Lin Luoran had also seen quite a few Tai Chi masters back then. At that time, she hadn't started practicing yet and always thought those people were just show-offs, so she didn't pay much attention to this national treasure either.

The old man in front of him had almost all white eyebrows, and his age didn't seem small. His face was very ruddy. The movements under his hands were somewhat random and not the usual Tai Chi movements, but Lin Luoran found it had a charm to it.

What's more, what made Lin Luoran even more astonished was that when the old man was practicing Tai Chi, following his gestures and movements, a stream of air that couldn't be seen with the naked eye was produced under his hands, making those grey mists which seemed to be everywhere in this world bypass him.

It's clear from the plants that this gray fog is not a good thing, it must be some kind of heavenly murk. Lin Luo Ran was able to maintain his current crystal clear body after washing his marrow, thanks to the mysterious pearl. Now seeing someone who can dispel the gray fog with human power, how could he not be shocked?

The old man in white robe slowly finished a set, saw a girl standing beside him with eyes wide open, and nodded with a smile: "Little girl wants to learn?"

Compared to the old gentleman, Lin Luoran was younger and was called "little girl". She didn't get angry, hearing the old man's question, she hesitated for a moment, and said with embarrassment: "Can you teach me?"

She saw that the old man in white had some real skills, and was afraid that he might have a rule of "teaching men but not women, teaching only to those with the same surname".

After listening to Lin Luoran's concerns, the old man burst out laughing: "An old man retired at home, practicing randomly, it's not some kind of secret skill, do you still want to learn?"

Is this random practice? Lin Luo Ran was astonished, is there really a natural genius in the world who can master it without a teacher? Looking at the old men next to him who were practicing Tai Chi with mediocre results, Lin Luo Ran thought for a moment and his eyebrows furrowed slightly.

The old man in white robe looked at her frowning and thinking, burst out laughing: "Good eyesight girl, you can see the difference between me and them, it's also a fate, old man today must teach you."

This is a windfall, and if Lin Luoran doesn't agree to it, she'd be an idiot! Who doesn't have secrets? She herself has a mysterious space, yet she won't let the old man understand some ways of health preservation.

Lin Luoran suddenly understood and happily called out "Master", also saying that he would formally present his respects as a disciple another day.

The old man heard this and became solemn, "Nowadays, there are not many young people who understand etiquette. It seems that I still have to dig up some of the old man's old tricks." After finishing, he smiled at Lin Luo Ran, very satisfied with her respectful behavior.

Lin Luoran sneered and said it was his own random practice, but now he's done it himself, the old man has revealed his own secrets.

The old man realized his mistake and just smiled slightly, starting to seriously tell Lin Luoran about the differences between his Tai Chi and others. One was that he saw Lin Luoran's extraordinary talent and had a mind to appreciate her, so he explained in extra detail; another was that looking at the old man who indeed had real skills, she was exactly at a bottleneck in her practice, listening with extra seriousness.

More than an hour had passed unknowingly. Lin Luoran calculated that Baojia would probably come to pick her up for work, just like the old man agreed to meet again tomorrow.

Xiao Ran ran back home, Lin Luo suddenly patted his forehead - hadn't even asked the surname of this "master", and was too careless himself.
