I give up.
Not for a lack of inspiration or direction, especially in this rewrite that I’ve properly planned for the first few arcs, but thinking about it after reading a few books and seminars about writing… I’m missing the mark royally with the audience.
When you think of a Ben10 fanfic, you don’t think of psychology or ambiguity. You usually just think of the Omnitrix as the ultimate cheat that solves everything in either a mostly lighthearted story (which of the three types typically has the best quality… which isn’t saying much, to be honest), a power trip story, and/or a crossover story (with only the character interactions as focus and nothing else).
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Anyway. Yes, I know that posting chapters at irregular intervals is also to blame. But hey…
I write mainly to be read and commented on, to be honest.
Anyway, I’ll have a better time just writing original fiction. I wouldn’t describe writing this as a waste of time, because I learned from my mistakes… all by myself, since nobody commented.
And I also know that I could target many other fandoms that won’t mind my “dark” thematics, but… no. I… spent too much time to not even entertain the thought of making money for my time. (Advanced chapters are a grey area in the fanfic context so I would rather not take the risk to begin with.)
