SS1 9.1 – Dildo 101 & Blindfold 22

  Orbiter 69 could carry 12 kg smart ordinance for surgical strike. However, its basic nature was ISR drone and not ISR Predator. To turn it into high volume hunter-killer, I had to pair it with another system.

  My first pick was Dildo 101. It was a powered 81 mm mortar round with simple electro-optic sensor. I had built it with my men once and we used it in Syria a lot, when we were being embedded to USSF element and Kurdish fighters to fight ISIS.

  I couldn’t help but had big smile as I found I could use my tablet to buy every component and software I needed. Therefore, I didn’t need to build everything from scratch. After the shopping, I started the assembly right away.

  The baseline of Dildo 101 was a lightweight skeleton bracket made of hardened polymer. It has three basic sections. The front section, used to hold gimbaled Mini-EO sensor with imagery tracking and sight lock-on capability. The rear section, used to house flight control, navigation system, networking, power pack, and small rotor. And the middle section where I could put one 81 mm mortar round with dual impact and proximity fuse.

  With ease, I assembled the load for front section and rear section, and connected the two through cable line in the bracket. Then, I opened the middle section and put a piece of 81 mm mortar round on it. After closing the bracket, I installed a pair of folded-wing on it. One was the main wing and another one was the tail wing.

  Last but not least, I tightened everything using small bolt screws. The bracket had 12 slots for bolt screws. Six was in the left, and another six was in the right. And maybe, that was the reason why some people called this add-on bracket as bolt-on package.

  ‘This brings back memory,’ I muttered as I examined the first assembly of Dildo 101.

  It took me about 5 minutes to finish it, but I would become faster as I assembled more. Then, I tried to assembly my second pick. It was Blindfold 22. It was the tear gas version of Dildo 101, and I also finished the first assembly in 5 minutes.

  ‘Not so bad,’ I happily muttered.

  Without delay, I continued the assembly work. Today, I would assembly Dildo 101 and Blindfold 22 as many as I can. It would increase my hunting radius after all.

  Their maximum speed was only 40 km/h, with maximum service ceiling of 2500 meter above sea level, maximum combat radius of 20 km, and loitering time of 10 minutes. This statistic was nothing compared to bigger loitering munition. However, Dildo 101 and Blindfold 22 were unmatched in term of precision and stealth approach.

  It was also cheap. A piece of 81 mm mortar round was 60 mollar, while the add-on bracket was 1900 mollar. With a price as cheap as 2000 mollar, I could turn ordinary mortar round into loitering munition with 20 km combat radius. For me, it was an excellent deal. I could also easily mass produce it.

  Well, the electric catapult and console to control Dildo 101 or Blindfold 22 cost me a few thousand mollar, but I had only to buy it once. So, it was still a good deal.

  Our routine in the evening was pretty much very ordinary. After taking evening bath in turn, we enjoyed a good diner. Then, Ariel and Kara came over to me as I assembled an electric catapult that commonly being used to launch a small drone.

  “Berg,” Kara said. “When will we start the hunt?”

  “Right now,” I casually said before turning my gaze to Ariel. “Send Orbiter 69 airborne.”

  “Where does Ariel have to fly it?”

  “Just let it hover 500 meters above our position.”

  “Okay.”

  This was not the first time Ariel flew Orbiter 69. With ease, she carried out my request. First, with Kara’s help she set up a working desk next to the HMV. Then, the two sent Orbiter 69 to the air.

  After that, I thought her how to collect data imagery and identification, and stored it in a database. The first imagery and identification we collected was our own data.

  And so, starting from now, every time Orbiter 69 spotting us it would recognize us, and the blue marking box it placed in our head would have our name. If we clicked this box, it would display our detail information right away.

  After realizing that Orbiter 69 had such capability Kara immediately said, “I never thought a drone can do such thing.”

  “Well,” I calmly said. “Other than face recognition, physical traits recognition, symbol and insignia recognition, body size measurement, and body temperature measurement, we can add other parameter later.”

  “I see.”

  “Now, let’s bring Orbiter 69 to Kubran Valley to collect some data. Fly it at 4000 meter above the ground so we don’t alert the monster.”

  “Okay.”

  Wasting no time, Ariel carried out my request. A moment later, we already collected data imagery and identification of orc and goblin. We classified them as hostile and used red marking box. And once Orbiter 69 was capable of recognizing orc and goblin, red marking box instantly filled the screen to the brim. After a quick tally, I estimated we had about 200 orc and goblin presence in the area below Orbiter 69.

  And a moment later, Orbiter 69 spotted four Minotaur. They were leading dozens of orc and goblin, trying to box a pack of white rump. Well, in a nighttime hunting, it was to be expected to encounter nocturnal monster like Minotaur, and they were the primary target I was looking for.

  “These Minotaur will become our first prey for tonight hunt,” I calmly said.

  Big question mark in an instant popped up in Kara’s forehead. “How do we hit them?”

  “We will use this,” I said as I showed Dildo 101 to Kara and Ariel.

  By using electric catapult, I smoothly sent four Dildo 101s to the air. It took a few minutes before this package reached Orbiter 69’s location, and then loitered right below it. After that, I taught Ariel and Kara the procedure to use it to eliminate a target.

  First, Ariel searched, identified, and marked a target, and sent its location to Kara. Then, Kara would position Dildo 101 to loiter 100 meter behind the target at altitude of 1500 meter above the ground, made sight lock-on to its back, and set the fuse she would use. If she had multiple targets to serve, Kara would wait until each target had Dildo 101 ready for them before pressing engage button.

  This was the first time these two working together as a pair of hunter-killer team, but they did it very good. As the result, right after Kara pressed the engage button, four Dildo 101s simultaneously made nose dive to four Minotaur at four different locations, straight to their back.

  Blaarr! Blaarr! Blaarr! Blaarr!!!

  The Orbiter 69 beautifully recorded the last moment of each Minotaur. They perfectly became a full blooming firecracker. A second later, my tablet received notification. We got 40.000 mollar for four Minotaur kills. After a smile, I then turned my gaze to Ariel and Kara.

  “That’s a nice teamwork and tactic,” I happily praised the two. “Until their last moment, the Minotaur didn’t realize the incoming package.”

  “Mhm,” Ariel gave me a happy nod.

  As for Kara, she gave me a huge smug face before asking, “What is the name of killing package we just used?”

  “It’s Dild One-O-One.”

  I couldn’t tell a kid that my former unit used a sex toy as a name for our beloved ordnance, so I modified it a bit.

  “That’s a weird name,” Kara said while tilting her head.

  “It is.”

  I couldn’t agree more. The name had given me a lot of headache. Every time my XO made post engagement report where Dildo 101 was our main ordinance, he would deliberately wrote, ‘From midnight until morning, under the cover of darkness, one after another we silently blindfolded and dildoed everything that moved until they couldn’t move anymore. The result was very satisfying. We received no complain. Fuck yeah!’

  My superior officer would then give me an in-person lash out after she received the report. She thought it was a roundabout way to harass her. She flatly rejected my explanation that the name and the way the report was written, had nothing to do with her or whoever the superior officer was. It was purely out of my men amusement to entertain their nerdy mind.

  On the other side, my men would sulk like toddler if I changed the name or the way we wrote the report. In the end, the name stick and it took a considerable time before I got used to it. Now, once I got used to it, it felt weird when I tried to change it.

  ‘What a mess,’ I took a deep breath before putting back my attention to Ariel and Kara. “I will teach you how to launch Dild 101 to the air. After that you can continue your hunt, while I’m watching the perimeter.”

  ““Okay,”” Ariel and Kara replied at the same time.

  With ease, Ariel and Kara mastered the procedure to launch Dildo 101. I also taught them how to hunt and neutralize a target using only Dildo 101. In this mode, they didn’t have target identification and recognition from Orbiter 101.

  They have to use their own judgment using basic electro-optic sensor on Dildo 101, I told them to use this procedure only when they had no other choice. After that, I moved the electric catapult right next to Kara’s seat. This way, she didn’t need to get up from her seat every time she wanted to launch Dildo 101.

  Then, I closed the lesson by asking, “Any question?”

  “If we have loitering Dildo 101, but find no target to hit,” Kara said. “How do we retrieve it back?”

  “We don’t,” I casually replied. “Once you put it in the air, you are not supposed to retrieve Dild 101 back. If you don’t find target for it, you detonate it in the air.”

  Kara lightly nodded. “Okay.”

  “Other question?”

  After Ariel and Kara shook their head at the same time, I let them to carry out the hunt. I watched over them for a moment before taking up lookout position on top of HMV.
