Chapter Ninety-Three: Challenge

  ♂?,,

Jin Liangjun, who has just turned seventeen this year, already possesses a Taekwondo black belt first dan.

Taekwondo is a combat sport that originated from the traditional Korean martial art of self-defense, which was revived in Korea after independence. As Koreans who had been scattered overseas due to war returned home, they brought with them various martial arts techniques from around the world and merged them with their native art, eventually forming the modern system of taekwondo.

In 1986, under the active promotion of Taekwondo founder Mr. Choi Hong Hi, Taekwondo successfully became a competitive event at the 10th Asian Games.

At the beginning of this year, Kim Yong-chol, the father of Kim Yoon-joon, came to China with other members of the International Taekwondo Federation to work on the 11th Asian Games taekwondo project. Because they received news that the Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou this year seemed to exclude taekwondo and replace it with Chinese martial arts.

As the chairman of the International Taekwondo Federation, Jin Yun-cheng is naturally very concerned about this matter. In recent years, he has been actively promoting the development of taekwondo around the world, and taekwondo has developed extremely rapidly in these years, with many dojos established all over the world. He hopes to change this fact through his own efforts.

However, Taekwondo was absent from the 11th Asian Games held in Guangzhou in September due to various reasons, while Chinese Wushu successfully made its way onto the stage of the Asian Games.

Jin Liangjun was deeply influenced by his father and had a strong passion for taekwondo since he was young. When he heard the news, he felt extremely dissatisfied, thinking that it was an insult to Chinese people's taekwondo. They promoted their own martial arts at the Asian Games but excluded taekwondo, which made him very angry.

He had personally witnessed China's martial arts program at the Asian Games, and in his opinion, it was nothing but fancy moves that were useless in actual combat.

For this, he also wanted to privately challenge the Chinese martial arts contestants, but no matter how provocative he was, not a single person accepted his challenge, leaving him depressed.

After the Asian Games, he followed his father to Beijing for public relations activities for the next Asian Games.

After Jin Liangjun arrived in the capital, he searched everywhere for someone to challenge. He went to gyms, stadiums, and martial arts schools, but most people ignored his challenges. The few who accepted were no match for him, and couldn't even last three rounds in his hands.

His behavior was strongly opposed and scolded by his father, who said he didn't know the height of heaven and earth, that China had many skilled martial artists, with hidden dragons and crouching tigers. To make his son give up, he also told Jin Liangjun something he had never mentioned to anyone before: he was once defeated by an unremarkable old man doing exercises in a Chinese park, and after returning home, he studied hard and practiced diligently, which led to his current achievements.

His father's words of advice did not change Jin Liangjun's mind, but instead gave him a good idea.

He then focused his attention on the old men who practiced in Beijing's major parks every morning.

After more than a week of observation, Jin Liangjun finally found an unusual old man in Shichahai, who he speculated should be a master of martial arts.

These past few days, he has been pestering that old man, asking to compete with him, but no matter how hard he tries to provoke the other party, they simply ignore him.

Today, Jin Liangjun came here again and continued to pester the old man. As a result, the old man was possibly annoyed and pointed to a small grove in front of him, saying: "If you want to fight, there is an expert in that small grove, win against him first."

He walked towards the small woods in front of him with a mixture of faith and doubt, and as it turned out, he really did hear some movement. His spirit lifted, he immediately ran quickly in that direction.

Lin Hong saw that the person was wearing a white loose-fitting outfit with a black belt around his waist, and the black and white clothes looked quite good together. Even he felt a sense of handsomeness.

This place is quite remote and ordinary people can't find it, he thinks that the other party was attracted here because of the explosive sound emitted by his previous practice.

The young man came here and shouted a greeting.

  "Hello, how are you?"

Lin Hong was slightly stunned and didn't know what he was saying, couldn't understand a word.

The young man saw Lin Hong and didn't understand, so he immediately switched to English and said:

"I am Kim Yang-joon from Korea, nice to meet you."

It turned out to be a Korean, Lin Hong suddenly realized, he was wondering why this guy didn't speak Chinese but instead spoke English.

Since the other party greeted politely, Lin Hong didn't want to be too cold, so he responded: "Good. I'm Stone, Lin."

"Excuse me for asking, were you just practicing Chinese Kung Fu?" Jin Liangjun asked.

Lin Hong nodded: "I've finished practicing. If you want to practice here, feel free to do so. I'm leaving, goodbye."

Lin Hong looked at his attire and seemed to be here for morning exercise as well. At this moment, it was already winter, but he was wearing very thin clothes, which showed that his physical fitness was not ordinary.

Lin Hongben is a relatively introverted person, and in general, he doesn't like to casually chat with strangers. So he bid farewell directly, wanting to go home, anyway today's morning exercise has ended.

"Wait a minute." Jin Liangjun was unwilling to let him leave so easily, he would be returning home soon and if he didn't find the right person to try out this time, there wouldn't be another chance.

He then blocked Lin Hong's way.

"I've always wanted to experience the power of Chinese Kung Fu, please don't hesitate to teach me!" Jin Liangjun's Chinese was quite good, and after he finished speaking, he looked at Lin Hong with a serious expression.

"Not interested." Lin Hong stepped aside and continued walking forward, bypassing his outstretched right hand.

Afraid? Thinking that Chinese Kung Fu is just a three-legged cat's trick, not as good as our Great Korea's Taekwondo, afraid of losing the match?

Lin Hong heard this and immediately stopped in his tracks.

Although he knew in his heart that this was the opponent's desperate move, Lin Hong still stopped.

Lin Hong knew that Korea was a small country in the northeast direction of China, and they were the ones who fought against the US during the Korean War. Having studied history, he knew that Korea had been a subordinate state to China since ancient times.

Originally, Lin Hong didn't want to bother with this guy named Jin Liangjun, but since he took the initiative to provoke him, Lin Hong was happy to play along.

Master has instructed, don't take the initiative to provoke trouble, but when trouble finds you, one can't lose the martial artist's blood nature.

Lin Hong has just been promoted and successfully entered the dark energy stage, now his whole body is full of energy. Since he wants to fight like this, let's see what his "Taekwondo" is all about.

"How do you want to compare?"

"No rules, fight to the end." Jin Liangjun saw Lin Hong agree and was overjoyed. "I hope you won't disappoint me. I've been in China for more than three months, but I haven't seen a real martial artist yet. All I've seen are some fancy moves."

"Let's begin." Lin Hong said, standing firmly in the center of the arena.
