  Two weeks have passed since Aiko assigned me the task of training every day in preparation for more advanced training. She watched me leave and return every day since I started, coming back covered in sweat and heading for the shower as I did.

  The greatest surprises were the amazing skills I unlocked after reaching 50 stat points in Strength, Vitality, Agility, and Dexterity.

  Enhanced Strength - Passive (Upgradable at 100 Strength): A skill obtained by shaping your physical strength to an advanced level. Helps the user increase Stamina growth. Increases physical strength.

  Enhanced Dexterity - Passive (Upgradable at 100 Dexterity): A skill obtained by shaping your dexterity to an advanced level. Helps user control their body better. Increased ability to react and the speed of reflexes.

  Effects: +100% to reflexes.

  +100% to reaction speeds.

  +100% to balance and bodily control in and out of combat.

  +100% growth to all stats relating to dexterity.

  Enhanced Vitality - Passive (Upgradable at 100 Vitality): A skill obtained by increasing your vitality through rigorous training to an advanced level. Increases HP to greater levels. Helps recovery time outside of sleeping.

  Effects: +100% to total HP.

  +100% to Chakra and Stamina regeneration outside of sleeping.

  +100% growth of Chakra and Stamina.

  The new stats have helped me keep up with training. I thought I’d reach a plateau, but now I know that I won’t have one, thanks to the system. My INT and WIS stats have reached 45 each. I’m only a few away from getting skills relating to them like these.

  ‘I haven’t had to spend a single stat point since I started training. The real problem is Chakra. It’s still at 14, and I haven’t unlocked the ability to use it or train it yet.’

  Today, Aiko will see the results of my constant training and start me on the rest of what I need to do. She’s fully aware of what I want to train. This is going a lot better than I ever thought it would, and that’s thanks to the system doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

  As of right now, I’m waiting for her at the training area she first brought me to. Kazuo should be watching the kids at the orphanage. Around 20 minutes pass, and I hear the approaching footsteps of Aiko. She walks up to me and looks me in the eyes while standing taller than me.

  There is a moment of contemplation as I wait for her to speak. A small sigh escapes her lips as she smiles. Placing her hand on top of my head as she does.

  “Looks like it’s time I taught you about Chakra, huh? You’ve really impressed me, Fuyu. I’ve never met anyone do what you’ve done. Well, there is one, but he’s not like you.”

  She removes her hand from my head and reaches into her back pocket. Pulling out a small piece of paper as she does.

  “This right here is a paper that tests your Nature affinity, but before we can find out your Nature affinity. You have to learn to manipulate your Chakra. That’s where we’re starting today. Unlocking Chakra is usually difficult for someone as young as you. So don’t be upset if you don’t get it first try.”

  ‘There is no way I’m not unlocking my chakra today. I need to start advancing my training. This is the way I’m gonna do it.’

  I nod my head, and she guides me to another part of the training area—one that is more secluded and away from the possibility that people might be watching. After a few minutes, we find a place and sit down.

  “Aiko, how long does it usually take for someone to unlock their chakra?”

  I’m curious about the times I’m up against here. She adopts a thoughtful expression for a second and then looks at me.

  “It depends on the person. The state of the times. Whether or not they’ve been trained beforehand. It’s an important step to becoming a shinobi. What matters is getting it done, not how fast you do so.”

  She’s trying to stop me from overreaching beyond my capabilities. There is something to be said about temperance. Something I’ve never had.

  “Now, this is where your training will become difficult.”

  She spent the next hour explaining the basics of chakra to me. I had a loose understanding of chakra in my old life, but I’m learning way more than I ever knew before. After explaining it to me, she stood up and walked behind me.

  Placing her hands on my back and asking me to close my eyes. I do as she asks, and she begins pouring chakra into my body. I can feel it going through me, and it’s completely different than anything I’ve ever felt before in my life.

  I don’t waste a second, and I begin trying to control the chakra. After a few seconds, I acquire new skills that will propel me forward in my training.

  “What the…”

  The words of Aiko barely register as I focus on controlling my chakra. It’s the first time in my life I’ve left this kind of warmth and energy. The levels are increasing at an unbelievable rate. Only a few seconds, and they passed level 10.

  ‘Prodigy Boost is going to make it to where I don’t need to train nearly as long to see results. With that skill, I won’t have to spend weeks or months training a specific skill or progressing in some Ninjutsu. It’ll literally save me years of time and effort.’

  I don’t know why I have that specific skill. I can only assume it’s a gift from the system or that I’m a part of the Uchiha clan. Whichever it is, I’m grateful for them.

  The hands of Aiko leave my back, and I continue controlling my chakra. I spend the next four and a half hours training these new skills Getting a good feel for it. Not stopping until all three of the skills are maxed.

  In the span of almost five hours, I raised my CP from 850 to 3350, making it the largest of HP, CP, and SP. When I opened my eyes after all this time, I saw Aiko’s stupified look.

  “But… Wha… How did… Fuyuki, this is…”

  She can’t find her words as I stand up and make my way to her. And with these skills unlocked and past level 50, I’ve completed the Basic Chakra Control Technique. I’m making monstrous progress, and there is nothing that I see that’ll slow me down.

  ‘It’s not like I can explain any of this to Aiko. Not that I’d want her to know about the system to begin with. I can see she has a lot of questions and concerns.’

  Instead of bombarding me with questions, she takes a knee in front of me so we’re eye to eye. Placing her hands on my shoulders. Looking into my eyes with great concern as she does.

  “Fuyu, I want you to know that you’re special—more special than anyone I’ve ever seen or heard of. From now on, when you’re training, I want you to make sure you’re alone. Always come here. It’s a safe place, and almost no one knows about it.”

  I place my hand on the back of my head as I scratch it. Having a hard time finding a response to that. Before I can, she brings me into a hug. Squeezing me and rubbing my back. All I can do is reciprocate.

  “I promise.”

  Those are the only words I need to say as she eventually lets me go. The worried look stays on her face, but it’s not as prevalent as before. As she stands up, she takes out the Nature Affinity chakra paper again. Handing it to me as she does.

  She takes out one herself, and holds it between her index and middle finger.

  “We’re gonna find out your Chakra Nature Affinity. What you need to do is push your chakra into the paper, and we’ll find out what it is.”

  I watch as she demonstrates. Her paper splits in half, and both halves dampen. I don’t know what they mean. Again, I don’t know a whole lot about Naruto.

  “I have two nature affinities. Wind, which caused the paper to split, and water, which caused both halves to dampen.”

  She motions for me to do the same, and I do as she does. I channel some chakra into the paper, and it begins to react. First, it crumples up and then catches fire and turns to ash. I know the fire part is fire affinity, but I don’t know the crumple one.

  “Looks like you’ve got a fire nature affinity and a lightning nature affinity.”

  I’ve got two? I always thought you were supposed to have one… My confused look doesn’t go unnoticed by Aiko, and she cracks a small smile.

  “Sometimes people naturally have two releases. It took me a few years to train wind nature. My natural nature was water.”

  Now that this is over, I’ve completed another one of my objectives for the quest. All I need to do now is learn an E-ranked Ninjutsu, beginner Taijutsu, and Shuriken Jutsu and level them up to level 50. After I’m done with those three, I’ll be finished with ‘Get ahead of your peers.’

  “When will we start Taijutsu and Shuriken Jutsu training?”

  Aiko can’t help a small but humorous grimace from appearing on her face as I jump straight into what I want to learn next. She folds her arms and takes a breath.

  “If you want to start on those, we can, but it’s not like Kazuo is available to take over all the time. So, I’ll give you some books to read. From there, you can train as much as you want without pulling me away from the rest of the orphans.”

  I can’t help thinking that I won’t learn as fast with a book. However, from what I remember about the Gamer comic I remember reading, you can learn skills from books. I assume it’s the same here.

  ‘That right there tells me I can learn skills and jutsu’s from reading books if I want to. Not only will that allow me to train without Aiko, but I can progress at whatever rate I deem necessary.’

  “That’s fine with me, Aiko. I’m just happy I can start training more than just my body.”

  She places her hand on my head and ruffles it around. After a few seconds, she tells me it’s time to head back to the orphanage. Informing me she’ll have the needed books by tomorrow.

  Meaning the quest is very nearly done.
