~~~POV: Fuyuki Uchiha~~~
My mind bounces around the options and outcomes of awakening the 1st tomoe of my Sharingan with the ticket. I don’t know how the Sharingan works. Not knowing anything substantial about the world and the lore of Naruto is coming back to bite me.
‘If I unlock the Sharingan now, I’ll at least know what it does… So many people from my old world loved the Sharingan. Saying it’s probably the most potent eye power you can have… If I unlock it now, it could help my growth exponentially.’
Every decision has downsides, no matter what it is. The first is an unknown consequence of unlocking the Sharingan at a young age. A part of me wants to research the Sharingan at the village library, but now that I’m thinking about it, the Uchiha wouldn’t allow that.
Due to a reasonable and sound deduction, you’ve obtained +1 WIS.
‘Even the system agrees the Uchiha wouldn’t allow the secrets of their eyes to be readable in the public library. So, I’m not getting anything from there.’
A small sigh escapes my lips as I’m at an impasse. The real problem would be if someone in the Uchiha clan figured out I had the Sharingan. Found out that I’m actually a Uchiha. The protection I have would disappear. When the clan massacre begins, I’ll be caught in it.
The problem is, I don’t know when the Uchiha massacre happened. It could be a few months or a few years from now. I could be leaving a lot of progress on the table with my Sharingan if I wait for the Uchiha to die and be one of the only ones left.
‘It’s really a fork in the road that each direction leads down a path of problems. Ultimately, my personal control of the Sharingan will determine whether or not I’ll be caught. As long as no one knows I have it, and I don’t show it to anyone, I’ll be fine.’
It seems that I’ve decided. I opened my inventory and looked at the ticket again.
Sharingan Advancement Ticket - Consumable: This ticket is for the user to use at any time to advance the Sharingan to its next evolution. There are three levels to which you can use this ticket to unlock. You can’t unlock more than one level at a time. The three levels are the 1st tomoe, 2nd tomoe, 3rd tomoe.
This can’t be used to unlock the Mangekyo Sharingan due to the evolution's unique requirements.
This can’t be used to unlock the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan due to a second pair of eyes being needed from a blood relative.
You don’t have to use this ticket now. You can save it for a later date and use it at any time.
Sharingan is currently locked.
1st Tomoe - Unlockable.
Would you like to use this ticket to unlock your Sharingan? (Y/N)
This item is currently in your player inventory.
‘Yes, I want to use it.’
The ticket disappears from my inventory, and nothing happens for no longer than a second. However, after that, I fall to my knees with my hands covering my eyes. I feel a surge of chakra and a deep burning. The pain only lasts for a second.
I lean back on my knees and look at the tree a few feet away. It’s a bit blurry, but my vision focuses, and everything becomes clearer and sharper. The world is a different color at first. It’s red, but then it changes to black and white.
The chakras of some of the animals nearby are visible. They glow blue in the black-and-white world. After a second, my eyes burn again, and the world returns to normal color.
That’s when I see a small butterfly and watch its wings flap. Slowly. I see the details of its wings.
The next thing I do is stand up and take a step forward, only to fall and rest on my hands and knees. My balance is off, and my body can’t keep up with my Sharingan.
‘Time to stop this.’
Not wanting to deal with this, I stop the chakra flowing into my eyes, and everything returns to normal. I move over to the tree and lean my back against it. Taking a break from that intensity. I take this moment to look at the new notification.
‘This is how strong it is at just Lvl. 1… No wonder the Uchiha are so damn overpowered in the Naruto world. With everything it allows, this will make my training so much easier.’
So, an eye power is called a Dojutsu. It’s nice knowing how to refer to eye powers now. There is so much for me to learn due to my incredible lack of knowledge of the Naruto world.
I want to see how much the effects improve with every level. So, I activate my Sharingan again and move around a bit this time. I practice punches and kicks, getting used to how my body works when my Sharingan is active.
You’ve leveled up the Sharingan one time!
Wanting to see the changes to the effects, I bring up the skill again.
It goes up by 5% per effect at every level… I’m no math guy, but I’m sure that’s around 500% when I reach the 2nd tomoe. I also level up my Sharingan really fast due to all the boosts I have to my EXP gains. The problem is I can’t have it active for more than a few minutes.
My Chakra levels are too low right now.
Well, now I have something to work toward. But it’s time to check something else out. Now that my Sharingan is all sorted out. I deactivate it and open my quests tab. Checking out the new quest I have there.
“Now, this is what I call a quest. It's something that I do every day or almost every day, and I have to work on it continuously. Based on the time limit, by the time I finish this quest, I should be around 12. I’ve been working toward this quest with ‘Get ahead of your peers,’ seeing the quest now, it’s been worth it.”
The failure conditions are stiff, but this is something I can easily do every day. Failing any two conditions for three consecutive days will fail the quest.
I have enough time to do the 100 push-ups, squats, and sit-ups, so it’s time to get started. I spend the next hour getting through those three objectives, and as I do, the objectives reset for tomorrow, and the Status Recovery reward is auto-applied.
All my fatigue and muscle soreness are gone. It's time for me to get back to the orphanage for the day and have whatever leftovers there are for dinner. Aiko always saves me a few servings since I miss lunch a lot.
I’ve made tremendous progress today, and tomorrow, I’m starting on a new training regiment thanks to this. There is nothing to stop me from getting stronger.
