I woke up hearing my dad talking on the phone. I looked at my clock at 6:18. I sighed and reluctantly got up wishing I could just go back to bed. I went to the bathroom and started washing my face. When I heard my dad's voice get louder I quickly finished washing my face; once I dried my face then went downstairs. I find my dad in the kitchen yelling on the phone, when he notices me he quiets down looking at me apologetically ‘I'm sorry’ he mouths to me as I nod and grab water from the fridge. Before bringing it upstairs so I can continue getting ready for school. I get up to my room and begin picking out an outfit. I decided to go with some ripped jeans and an old band T-shirt. I went back into the bathroom and started doing my make-up. I hear someone knock on the door of my room. I quickly finish my make-up and say.

  “ come in”

  My dad walks in and shuts the door quietly.

  “Hey I’m sorry that earlier your mom called again and was trying to set up the court date again, she is very adamant about it.” I nod and say it’s fine. He leaves and then I finish my stuff before getting my bag and phone and start the walk to school. When I get there I see lots and lots of people walking the hall as if they own the place. I continue walking until I bump into a guy who looks like a prince who adores expensive clothing from the most expensive stores. He looks like a famous guy from the movies I watch with Alice all the time. I look around making sure no one saw me bump into the new kid.

  “Hey, sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going.” He says looking around as well, I shake my head.

  “ No it’s fine, don't worry about it you didn’t mean to… hopefully,” I said and heard him chuckle.

  “Hey, what's your name?” He asks, looking down at me.

  “Alya,” I said, and he answered immediately.

  “Like the name cutie. I’m Ethan Lovegood Air Element at your service.” I chuckle at the charmingness of this boy. I nod and question.

  “What are your classes? Loverboy.” He looks at me with a glint in his eyes and sees him scan over my body with a quick up and down motion. He then hands me his paper and I read from the top of the list. AP Literature, Pre Calc, World History, AP Biology. I read through the rest of the list and look back at him handing his paperback.

  “We have pre-calc together. I can show you before lunch how does that sound?”

  He nods before asking.

  “Alright, that's cool. Do you know where AP Literature is though?”

  I nod and tell him to follow me. We start walking to his class. While walking I tell him a bit more about the school and other classes and sports we have. It felt like I was giving him a tour of the school. It was cool… Well, he was cool. I laughed at his jokes as we walked to his class and when we got there I said bye and walked to my class, Biology. When I get there I'm greeted by normal people just a few ‘Hi’s’ and ‘Hello’s’.

  I quickly sit down and get my notebook out my notebook I also grab a pencil and wait for the class to start while waiting I grab my phone and check my messages when I see nothing new I go to Instagram and start scrolling. When I finally hear the bell I put my phone in my bag and start taking notes.

  I grabbed my lunch tray and filled it with the lukewarm food from the lunch lady saying ‘thank you’ quietly as I passed by each one. I walked over to the small table that was already partially filled by Alice and Adiren, I quickly sat down and started eating they were already in an intense conversation about whether it was worse to step on a Lego piece or have both sides of their pillow being warm.

  “It’s worse! You idiot! I hate it when my pillow is warm. It’s so uncomfortable!” Alice practically yells.

  “No, it’s not! When I step on a Lego it feels horrible worse than if my pillows were warm! Just put it in the freezer if it’s uncomfortable.”

  We stop and look at him and slowly we start laughing.

  “W-what the hell!? Wha-what do you mean put it in the freezer!” I ask laughing and holding my stomach.

  “What!? Haven’t you guys done that before?” He says not laughing.

  “W-why!?” Alice asked laughing as well. He rolls his eyes and starts eating his food. We quickly stop laughing and finish eating before we start talking again.

  “So biology was pretty boring..” I say trying to start a conversation.

  “Who do you have again?” Alice asked biting into her apple.

  “Mr. Codwell,” I say matter of factly.

  I watch her nod and then look at Adrien.

  “Alyaaaa was he here this morning?”

  I look at her and think for a moment was he here’ I didn’t pay attention. “I- I don’t know if he was or not I wasn’t paying attention.”

  She nods and looks to Adrien.

  “So were you there?”

  “Yeah, I even tried talking to you Alya but you didn’t answer! What has got you so…distracted?” He asked and I shook my head.

  “This new kid…Ethan I think his name is…”

  “Ooooo Alya has a new crush!” Alice says giggling and I glare at her. “Fine fine I’m kidding!” She says pouting.

  “I do not have a crush! He was just very interesting and look!” I say and I point to Ethan when he sees me he smiles and waves and then walks over and sits next to me right in between me and Adrien.

  “What's up Ethan,” I say and I smile.

  “Nothing much cutie!” He says and starts eating I glance at Adrien and see him glaring at Ethan.

  “Ethan this is Alice and Adrien” I reply and point to each of them.

  “Oh cool hey, what's up guys!” Ethan responds.

  Alice quickly says hi and even starts flirting with him but he seems oblivious giving me most of the attention while Adrien ignores him and glares at him occasionally.

  Once school is over I walk out with Alice and Adrien who is still in a bad mood. Alice says bye and leaves in her car and I pull Adrien to my car.

  “What’s your problem, Adrien!? Why did you ignore him? He was trying to be nice!” I say and get in and wait for Adrien to get in when he does he finally replies.

  “Oh whatever, he was flirting with you the whole time giving you googly eyes.” He says coldly and I squeeze my steering wheel until my knuckles are white.

  “But I never repospricated the flirting!” I groan and start driving while he talks. “Okay, but I don’t think he is good for you! He seems to kind to…… likable!” He says looking at me fiercely waiting for a reply.

  “SO WHAT! Is it that hard to believe that someone other than you and Alice would want to hang out with me!” I yelled trying to focus on the road.

  “That’s not what I mean! And you know it!” He says right back.

  “Then please enlighten me ADRIEN! What did you mean!”

  “I just- I don’t think he is good enough for you!”

  “Who are you to tell me who is good enough for me and who isn’t? You aren’t my boyfriend you made that clear!” I say and turn into his driveway.

  “I- I- I didn’t mean it like that Alya I just don’t want you to lap up attention from a random boy who you just met”

  “Lap up! Are you kidding me? I’m not a dog! Get out, Adrien!”

  “Alya! Please I’m sorry I didn’t mean it!”

  “O-out,” I say holding back tears when he finally gets out of the car and slams the door I let the tears fall as I drive home.

  When I finally got home I ran upstairs passing my dad who was cooking. I get up to my room and call Alice telling her what happened.

  “That idiot! I’ll talk to him don’t worry Alya.”

  “Okay, I just- Do you think Ethan gives off weird vibes?”

  “Um….Well I mean I just met him so I can’t give you anything solid I think personally that he is head over heels for you!”

  “That is not what I asked!”

  “Well….I mean he does seem like a pushover a little bit.”

  “Oh shut up Alice you were flirting with him the whole lunch..”

  “I was not! What are you even talkin' about!?”

  “Yeah, yeah, whatever Alya. He likes you to deal with it. And as for Adrien ignore him or something.”

  “I don’t want to ignore him though”

  “Well then talk to him.”

  She says quickly just I hear my dad yell to come down for dinner.

  “Fine. I’ve got to go my dad is calling for dinner. Love you ya girl!”

  “Alright, I got you Bye girl!”

  I hang up the phone and toss it onto my bed before walking downstairs. I get into the kitchen and my dad is putting soup into bowls.

  “Hey, Dad!”

  “Hi, honey how was your day at school?”

  I smile and grab one of the bowls from him.

  “It was good, there is this new kid, Ethan…. He is an air kid.”

  “Well that’s fun is he nice?”

  “Yeah, he is! I think he is cool.”

  “That’s great just make good choices. I wouldn’t want you getting hurt.”

  I shake my head and smile.

  “I will Dad.” I finish my soup and put the bowl in the sink. “Alright, Dad I’m going to bed.”

  “Okay, honey good night!”
