Chapter 25: The Endless Starry Sky, the Vast Universe of Langya

This stall doesnt look like much, its run by a tall and sturdy young man. The man looks very ordinary, if you put his face in a crowd, it would be hard to find again. He wears an ordinary Taoist robe, with a Taoist outfit, but between his eyes, there is a sharp and piercing gaze.

His stall had a pile of withered medicinal herbs on it, which looked like they were not young anymore. However, now that there is the growth hormone liquid, old medicinal herbs are not necessarily valuable. Whats valuable are those rare medicinal herbs that need to grow in special places. Unfortunately, his stall didnt have any rare medicinal herbs.

What caught Qin Lingyuns attention was a painting on his stall, which looked very old, with the edges of the painting slightly yellowed. The painting depicted a strange and eerie mountain forest, with three purple-red suns at the top of the mountains. The trees in the forest had enormous branches and leaves, a species that Qin Lingyun had never seen before.

Under the three suns, there is a floating figure in mid-air, but its just the back of a woman, wearing a light gauze-like garment, one hand holding a black long spear and the other hand holding a red fan, the overall tone of the painting presents a very eerie style.

When Qin Lingyun saw this painting, she seemed to feel that the womans back in it was about to come alive and fly out of the canvas, while her own spirit had a tendency to enter the painting.

Qin Lingyun immediately calmed her mind and maintained her primordial spirits stability, she was extremely curious, what exactly was this strange and eerie painting?

Many monks passing by also cast their eyes on the painting, but they seem to have no feeling for the mystery of the painting, taking it as an ordinary picture, and walk away without stopping.

Qin Lingyun walked up to the stall, gazing at the painting. The young Taoists eyes narrowed, his hands clasped in his sleeves, and he said: "This fellow Daoist, are you interested in this painting?"

Qin Lingyun nodded silently and said, "Im indeed quite curious. The mountains, water, and sun in this painting are all things Ive never seen before. Is there really a place like this in the world?"

The young Taoist priests eyes were strange: "Could it be that fellow Taoists are unaware?"

Qin Lingyun was taken aback: "What do you know?"

She had seen nothing recorded in the "Xiū Zhēn Mì Lù" and there was no relevant information in Mù Róng Hèn Hǎis memories, but most of Mù Róng Hèn Hǎis memories were lost, so she couldnt be certain that Mù Róng Hèn Hǎi didnt know.

The young Daoist smiled and said, "Perhaps my fellow Daoist has been diligent in his cultivation and hasnt paid attention to the mysterious things of this world. These are not secrets, and they are briefly discussed in this Tale of the Great Month. My fellow Daoist will understand once he takes a look."

The young Taoist priest flipped his palm and handed Qin Lingyun a small booklet with the words "Da Yue Chronicle" written on it.

Qin Lingyun curiously took over this "Da Yue Chronicle", flipped it open, and quickly scanned it with her divine consciousness. After finishing the entire "Da Yue Chronicle" in a short while, Qin Lingyuns heart was filled with shock.

She had never thought that this world was such a state.

She was originally in a small planet called Da Yue, the planet is spherical, with oceans and land, on which there are many countries established by ordinary people, among which Da Wei Guo is one of the larger ones.

The oceans area is larger than land, and countless monsters live inside it.

"The starry sky is infinite, and the stars that appear at night are actually sun-like celestial bodies. Billions of these celestial bodies surround a vast landmass, collectively forming a large world. The large world where the Big Dipper is located is called the Langya Great World."

"I originally thought that the Great Wei Kingdom was already big enough, but I didnt expect that the Great Wei Kingdom is just a country on the planet of Da Yue, and the seemingly boundless planet of Da Yue is like a speck of dust in the vast universe of Lang Ya. But what does the vast universe of Lang Ya count for in the endless starry sky?"

Qin Lingyuns consciousness had undergone a tremendous change, and this "Great Moon Chronicle" recorded only some simple things, but it was enough to shock her.

For the first time, Qin Lingyun felt an unprecedented sense of insignificance.

"One day, can I walk out of the Big Dipper and wander in that endless starry sky?" Qin Lingyuns heart surged with excitement, as if she saw the endless stars twinkling in her eyes.

"To think that Im still just a Qi Refining stage cultivator, its hard to predict what the future holds."

Qin Lingyun calmed down her emotions, now she had roughly thought of it, the scene on this painting was very likely to be real, but definitely not the scenery of Dayue Star, because Dayue Star only had an orange-red sun, while this painting had three purple-red suns, which were quite different.

Young Master took the "Great Moon Chronicle" handed over by Qin Lingyun and said slowly, "This painting was unintentionally obtained by my ancestors in the past and has been passed down. No one knows what scenery is depicted inside, but this painting has a special effect."

  "What special effect?"

Young Master nodded: "If the yuan god is damaged, watching this painting frequently will speed up the recovery of the yuan god. Apart from this effect, it seems that there is no other special place."

Qin Lingyun didnt hide her thoughts either, and said straightforwardly: "Im very interested in this painting, I dont know if you can bear to part with it and give it to me?"

The young Taoist priest said bluntly: "Originally, it was passed down from our ancestors and shouldnt be sold, but now that the familys fortunes are declining, Id also be happy to exchange some spiritual stones."

Qin Lingyun flipped her palm, and three rectangular lower-grade spirit stones with a faint blue glow appeared on the stall: "Three pieces of lower-grade spirit stones, how about it?"

The young monk reached out his hand to take away the spirit stone and said, "Alright, three pieces of spirit stone are just three pieces of spirit stone."

Just then, a hoarse voice came from beside him: "I want this painting."

Only three monks stood by with their arms crossed, led by a middle-aged man with a goat-like head and mouse-like eyes, wearing brocade robes, his expression full of arrogance, looking at the young monk with a slanted triangular eye, casually throwing out seven or eight pieces of low-grade spirit stones.

Fang Datong happened to arrive at this place and saw such a scene. He immediately stopped in his tracks, not going forward, but standing in the corner to watch.

The young monks hand hovered in mid-air, hesitating to continue reaching down, a hint of fear and unease flowing from his expression.

The nearby cultivators saw the man with a deer head and mouse eyes, and they all dodged to avoid him. Qin Lingyuns hearing was far superior to that of ordinary cultivators, and she clearly heard the whispers of many cultivators in the distance.

"Overlord Mouse and his followers have set their sights on something again, better to stay far away, lest you invite trouble."

"Who made the Overlord Mouse the leader of the four major immortal families in the vicinity, we scattered cultivators cant afford to provoke him."

"The Ba tribe acts in a tyrannical manner, and its said that theyve defected to the Wu Gui Xian Temple, the number one demonic sect of the Great Wei Dynasty. The Ba Mouse is running amok in the city, and whats more, they like to abduct female cultivators as their cauldron vessels. That female cultivator I saw seems to be in great danger."

Having heard these rumors, Qin Lingyun had a general understanding of what kind of person Ba Shu was. She had heard of the Ba clan and the Five Ghosts Temple before. Originally, she wanted to retreat and not offend Ba Shu, but after learning that Ba Shu liked to seize female cultivators as his furnace tripod, she knew that she no longer had a way out.

The lustful and filthy gaze that occasionally overflowed from Ba Shus triangular eyes made Qin Lingyuns anger surge up.

She only wanted to cultivate quietly by herself, but she couldnt have imagined that trouble and danger would be unavoidable in the end. Since it was so, she also didnt retreat anymore.

A flash of cold light flickered across her eyes, and Qin Lingyun said expressionlessly: "I was the first to take a liking to this painting."

"Hah? You dare to speak out of turn about something Ive set my eyes on?" the Bully Rat said menacingly.

Seeing the young monks fearful appearance, Qin Lingyuns painting scroll transformed into a white light and disappeared into her storage bag. She smiled and said, "Our transaction is complete, farewell for now."

Qin Lingyun ignored the existence of the tyrannical mouse and walked in another direction. She knew that in the market, no one dared to take direct action, even if the tyrannical mouse was arrogant, it did not dare to take action.

The Overlord Mouse did not expect that a sixth-level Qi-refining female cultivator would be so tough on him. In his opinion, the cultivators who came to this small town were unlikely to have any deep background. He had been around for decades and it was the first time he saw Qin Lingyuns unfamiliar face. She must be a wandering cultivator from outside, if she were from a major sect or a large clan, why would she come to such a small town?

Since there was no background, the mouses actions were naturally unscrupulous. With his cultivation of nine layers of Qi Refining, plus the backing of his family, ordinary cultivators indeed did not dare to contend with him.

"Good, good, little female cultivator, your guts are not small. This debt will be remembered by me."

"Go, hum..." The mouse king let out a cold snort, waved his hand and turned away.

Qin Lingyun, however, found that many cultivators around her had a hint of pity in their eyes, as if she was a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, and would soon be taken away by the tyrannical mouse as a furnace tripod.

Qin Lingyun ignored the gaze of the crowd and walked forward with a expressionless face.

The cultivators gradually dispersed, each busy with their own affairs. Qin Lingyuns matter was just a small episode that flashed through their minds, after all, for the many cultivators, cultivation was the most important thing.

Qin Lingyuns footsteps were light and quick, getting faster as she walked. Her strong intuition sensed that a pair of eyes like venomous snakes were staring at her back all the time.

However, she was clear-headed and remained calm at all times. If the likes of Ba Shu were not willing to give up, she would not just sit back and wait for death.

As she turned the corner, she saw a familiar figure, a chubby face, a large mole on his chin, and it was Fang Datong standing there, with a smile all over his face.
