Chapter 38: Jiang Yan, Dont Be Afraid

During lunch, the principal tentatively asked about his attitude, to see if he had decided to build a new library for Huada.

He smiled slightly and nodded slightly as a response, and the principal's heart finally settled down.

Although Hua Da is a century-old university, the library originally established was obviously insufficient in resources. The allocated funds were limited, and if it wanted to be built, it still needed investment from others.

Ruan Jianglin as a businessman has never been a philanthropist, he can agree to it, and it's also a kind of return to his alma mater.

Leaders all praised him for being young and promising, although he didn't respond, it was still considered polite.

Jiang Yan noticed that his attitude was slightly better, but it was still only towards Professor Chen.

Professor Chen has already retired from Huada University, and it must have taken a lot of effort for the president to persuade him to come back.

After dinner, Jiang Yan followed Ruan Jianglin all the way.

He stood in front, blocking the light, two shadows under the street lamp, sometimes near and sometimes far.

Jiang Yan took advantage of his distraction while he was on the phone and secretly hooked her index finger around the palm of his shadow.

From her perspective, it looked as if they were really holding hands.

There was a hint of smile in her eyes, with a rare warmth amidst her usual coldness.

Ruan Jiang hung up the phone and turned around to see her playing silly with shadows.

"Is it that fun?" he asked.

Jiang Yan hastily withdrew her hand, not letting him discover her little thoughts.

Ruan Jianglin's eyes took it all in.

He stood tall, standing under the street lamp, his shadow stretching out long.

Just now at the dinner table, he didn't even finish one cigarette before extinguishing it, his nicotine addiction was acting up badly.

He pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, took one out and lit it with a blue flame in the palm of his hand.

"Jiang Yan, I'm giving you a chance to confess." His eyes were deep and profound, his usual careless demeanor was just a facade.

She doesn't need to confess anymore, her little thoughts have all been manipulated by Ruan Jianglin.

"Ruan Jianglin, I'll be a good girlfriend."

She knew Ruan Jiang was in high spirits and continued to speak according to his wishes.

He didn't speak, paused for a moment, then put the cigarette in his mouth and didn't remove it from his lips until it had burned halfway down.

"Jiang Yan, I'm not a good person. To be blunt, I'm a complete mess, and if you're with me, you'll end up crying."

He has always been very clear about his own positioning, playing among people, wandering in the flower cluster, having no definite nature, being an anti-marriage advocate, fearing trouble, and not taking emotions seriously.

That's him, stripped of his handsome appearance and proud identity, a rogue.

"I won't," she said with extreme certainty, as if it wasn't her usual emotional state.

Ruan Jianglin smiled and extinguished the cigarette in his hand: "Alright, I won't coax you even if you cry."

He had just finished smoking and his body carried a faint scent of smoke, but it wasn't unpleasant.

The autumn night's breeze lifts her hair, which is somewhat disheveled in the air.

Ruan Jianglin's short hair was also blown up a bit, he stood by the side of the road, Jiang Yan standing beside him.

He had a suit jacket slung over his arm, exuding a carefree air, and Jiang Yan stood beside him, her heart racing in tandem.

Because she knew that Ruan Jianglin had agreed.

When she was young, the man's gentle and soft voice still echoed in her mind. Occasionally, she suddenly looked up at Ruan Jianglin, and their eyes met.

Jiang Yan couldn't tell whether this was reality or not.

It's roughly a naive dream of youth, now it has become reality and suddenly I'm a little touched.

  Late at night

Xinghu Hotel 403, Ruan Jiang Lin had been pressing her against the door frame since she entered, and the male hormone filled her entire brain.

The familiar feeling in memory came again, but last time Ruan Jiang stopped halfway.

Her body trembled slightly, she and he were cheek to cheek, exceptionally intimate.

The rain outside changed from a gentle patter to a heavy downpour.

Just now when they came up, they all got rained on, Jiang Yan's hair was wet and stuck to her face, Ruan Jianglin reached out and peeled it off.

His breath drowned in hers, exchanging each other's.

When Ruan Jiang was about to put her on the bed, she opened her eyes and saw the man sizing up her eyebrows. Her eyelashes trembled slightly.

"Jiang Yan, I'll give you one more chance to regret." He obviously lowered his voice, with a hint of restraint.

She had her hands clasped around his neck, her entire body hanging on him: "Obviously you were the one who seduced me first, and then you played hard to get with that 'I'll give you another chance' nonsense. Ruan Jianglin, how can you be so shameless? Hmm?"

She raised an eyebrow, her hand exerting a slight force, and in an instant, the distance between them was shortened, close enough to hear each other's heartbeat.

He was pressed against her, his breath hitting her face.

  "Jiang Yan, we're even."

She's also quite good at playing hard to get.

Accompany him in Kyoto for a while, and then leave again according to time, isn't it just hanging on to that little thought of his?

Everyone understands the thoughts of adults.

He had his hands on either side of her, just about to get up, when Jiang Yan pulled him back down. She took the initiative to lean in and kiss him.

Thought he was going to back down again, somewhat annoyed and embarrassed: "Ruan Jianglin, can't you do it?"

Looking at her anxious and flustered appearance, he smiled playfully and reached out to gently tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear, his fingertips barely touching it.

"Just thinking of turning off the lights, or if you want to keep them on, that's fine with me." He replied, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

The little girl's impatience was all in his eyes.

  "Then go, hurry up."

She loosened her grip on his neck and let him go.

  "Afraid I'll run away?"

"No." Her voice was as small as an ant's, and it was clear that she had lost her confidence.

Her emotional appearance entered his eyes, and wherever his fingers went, they ignited a spark, hooking her thoughts into a burning mess.

After turning off the lights, she only felt her body getting hotter and hotter. She couldn't see Ruan Jianglin's face clearly, only a vague outline.

She hugged him tightly, and he whispered in her ear: "Jiang Yan, don't cry later, I said I won't coax you even if you do."

Jiang Yan didn't take his words to heart at first, until later when she finally understood Ruan Jianglin's meaning, because she had hardly ever cried about anything.

It's probably because there isn't anything that can bring her enough pain and sorrow.

He really didn't know how to coax her, she cried non-stop until her voice was hoarse. Seeing that he wasn't moved by this, Jiang Yan felt a bit regretful.

It was her ignorance that had just provoked Ruan Jianglin's desire for victory.

Jiang Yan didn't know when she fell asleep, but she knew she slept very soundly and had no dreams.

She vowed never again to provoke Ruan Jianglin like this.

She still remembered Ruan Jianglin's face from last night, smiling at her: "Jiang Yan, don't be afraid."

She said she was wrong and would never dare to be young and arrogant again, saying things like "Is Ruan Jianglin really soft".
