Chapter 4 Alias

I walked with some of my people to check what may be new in the scrap yard, There was a whole android. She had some clothes on her that ripped up, I tried getting her story by turning her on. She opened her eyes and looked freaked out, but tried getting up. Surprisingly she could walk with no issue, just a few hick ups to it, and then she started running to the city. We all blocked her way, she would never be welcomed back and we all knew from experience.

"Where is Tori? I have to find her" She says confusing us all.

"Who is this Tori? Did she do this to you?" I asked as the second in command.

"No, she wouldn't and can't say that about her parents though," She says sure.

"How can you be so sure? All those city people aren't into androids having a mind of their own" I say to her a bit harshly.

"She is different, she made me feel welcomed by her family," she said.

Then she looked sad and like she would cry, so I knew she was upset. So I motioned for her to follow us underground and went to get her some clothes to replace hers. She seemed to trust her human, I knew her family and how they became rich by my creator's work. Sophia I finally learned her name and she looked better dressed like some of our people.

"Now you look more like us, it will help you fit in with us," I say kindly.

"I can tell what is going on right now, but I know Tori is kind," Sophia says.

"Most are nice until they aren't in the future," I say honestly.

She was silent after I said that, and It was time for me to leave her alone. So she can learn to make friends here and find better chances, so I go to my commander. He was lying in bed resting what was left of his body and I walked in softly to not scare him. He looked at me tired and like he was close to leaving soon. So I felt like we might be having a funeral and none of us like those.

"I know I don't look that great today, but I'm sure you are good as a leader," Mathew says.

" I don't like to think of the bad day, but I'm not a leader type," I say.

"yes, you are my boy, you just have to believe in yourself for your future," Mathew says with a smile.

"I couldn't do it without you, you are my creator," I say knowing he is fading more each day.

I kiss his forehead and leave the room feeling mixed emotions. Then Sophia caught me in the hall and came closer, maybe to talk about this place. I never know some days, so It's hard to understand the new kinds of my people. She comes over closer and seems mouse-like, unsure of herself mostly by how she looks.

"what do you need, Sophia?" I say a bit curious.

"I wanna know something, but also who is in there?" she says pointing to the door I came from.

"Well, that would be hard to explain to you now," I say since she is new.

"Oh okay, well I'll leave you alone then," she says like she is holding back herself.

She left abruptly and I felt unsure of what she wanted to know, but I couldn't dwell on that too long. So I go on with my life for now and keep things running for right now.
