Chapter 8: As long as I dont hurt her, its fine

On the way to Ming's government office, Chu Ci leaned on the window of the imperial carriage and looked out at the bustling streets outside. Compared to two years ago, there had indeed been many changes, and there were many buildings she had never seen before. The city seemed even more prosperous.

When they arrived at the Ming government office, the people there were shocked to learn that it was the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess who had come together. They were surprised but also knew that the two of them not getting along was a well-known fact throughout the city. The people in the Ming government office just sincerely believed that the couple was putting on an act for their benefit.

Ming Tai Shi brought his men over to pay their respects to the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess, but he didn't know what the Crown Prince was up to this time.

However, Emperor Wu directly asked: "Is there still a shortage of personnel in the Taishi Temple?"

Min Taishi's first reaction was to say that there were no shortages, but after seeing the Crown Prince's wife giving him a strong look, Min Taishi hesitated for a moment before nodding and saying: "Indeed, we are short-handed."

The Emperor turned to Ming Taishi and said: "The Crown Princess wants to return to the Ministry of Justice to help, what do you think, Master Ming?"

These words sounded like they were seeking Master Ming's opinion, but the tone was clearly giving orders to Master Ming.

However, when Chu Ci wanted to return to the Ming government office, Master Ming naturally welcomed her with open arms. After all, two years ago, Chu Ci was already a member of the Ming government office, but later married Li Wang, who is now the Crown Prince, and left the Ming government office.

Behind Mingtai's back, several of his subordinates who had been close friends with Chu Ci in the past heard that he was coming back and their eyes lit up.

They thought that Chu Ci would be trapped in the deep palace for the rest of her life...

"Of course it's possible," said Ming Taishi with a smile. "It's an honor for the entire Ming government to have the Crown Princess return and help out."

Di Hong nodded slightly and glanced at the person beside him, then said: "You all shouldn't expect her to accomplish anything as soon as she arrives, it's already good if she doesn't get hurt doing chores."

Chu Ci listened, somewhat annoyed, and gave Di Xili a dark glance. Can't this guy just say he's concerned about her? Does he have to make a detour to insult her first?

But Di Honglian didn't seem to have time to linger here, and after entrusting Chu Ci with what he needed to say, Chu Ci muttered under his breath, "I know, I'm not a kid anymore..."

Di Jin seemed to have not heard clearly what she said, his face expressionless: "What?"

  "It doesn't matter!"

Emperor Qi glanced at her lightly, withdrew his gaze, and said to Ming Taishi: "Taishi, remember to go to Zhenghe Hall later. I have something to attend to, so I'll leave first."

Mingtai Shi readily agreed and sent Emperor Hong away from the Ming government office.

In front of the carriage, Emperor Zhi seemed to have thought of something and stopped for a moment. He turned his head to look at Chu Ci: "Will someone from the palace come to pick you up later?"

Chu Ci waved his hand: "No need, no need, I can find my own way."

The emperor turned and left without looking back, walking away with a cold demeanor.

Chu Ci looked at Emperor Mo in a mysterious and wonderful way as he left, really didn't know where she had offended him again.

After entering Ming's mansion, someone excitedly shouted at her, "My god, Chu Ci, are you really coming back this time?"

As soon as she turned her head, she saw that it was Cheng Qi, that little kid. Seeing her old friend from the past, she was also delighted, nodded and smiled, saying: "Of course it's true!"
