Chapter 3: Inner Breath (Part 1)

Two months' time, it's neither long nor short, but in terms of feeling, it has passed in the blink of an eye.

Fang Xin gained a lot of sensory understanding of the world in these two months and discovered many places that Fang Xin had not noticed before, such as the library behind the residential area.

This world, basically all books have been sorted onto the internet, paper books have exited the mainstream, and now very few young people go to libraries.

But the library was still quite clean, with several rows of wooden chairs arranged in a row, spotless under the sunlight, apparently often wiped by someone, but no one sat there. Looking at this scene, Fang Xin's heart had a faint and subtle sadness.

As soon as he entered the door, the librarian noticed him and greeted him, saying: "A-Xin is here!"

He is almost the only customer of this library now, at least among young people.

"Ah, Uncle An, hello." He greeted the librarian with a nod.

The librarian, Uncle An, who was already sixty years old but looked only fifty due to Earth's circumstances, said calmly: "Ah Xian, you've been doing pretty well lately?"

"It's okay." Fang Xin smiled slightly, but didn't say anything. Recently he had been diligent in his cultivation, and his spirit was indeed different.

"I heard you've been practicing qigong diligently lately, take a look at this book." An Shu took out a small booklet from the drawer and smiled at Fang Xin: "I learned many things from this book when I was young, Ah Xin, you take it!"

He felt the jade Ruyi hidden in his body move, and Fang Xin was startled. He took it with both hands and said, "Thank you, Uncle An."

Uncle An nodded and left, no longer disturbing him.

Fang Xin flipped through the booklet and saw that there were lines drawn on it, as well as some brief comments. The content of the booklet was not much, only about 20 pages long. When he flipped to the back, he saw the words "Second Edition, Huayi Comprehensive Publishing House, 50,000 copies" printed on it.

He took a brief look and put it in his bag, then took out another book to read. This book was already half-read, but it was a small piece from the Tang Dynasty.

Tang people, Su Anming was young and had an agreement with a neighboring girl. At seventeen, he went to the capital for the imperial examination. The girl saw him off and gave him a steamer basket with a steamed chicken inside. After Su became a scholar-official, the girl's family tilled the land themselves and were very poor, not daring to mention marriage again.

A high official or persuading his young daughter is laughing: "My heart had already promised that day, how dare I now be rich and noble and betray my original heart?"

He returned to his hometown and married a woman. After the marriage, the couple loved and respected each other. However, their happiness was short-lived. A few years later, his wife unfortunately passed away at the age of 19, leaving behind two sons and one daughter. Su Anming was deeply grieved and did not remarry for over ten years.

His brother said: "Sorrow is born of love, and love is born of lust. A great man has no need to worry about having a wife. Why are you so sad?"

Su Anming said: "I do not know why because of beauty, love is born, and because of love, sorrow is born. I only know that my wife has gone, so my whole life is full of sorrow! Among millions of people, my wife is the only one!"

"I do not know why it is that because of beauty, love is born, and because of love, sorrow is born. I only know that my wife is gone, and thus my whole life is filled with sorrow! Among the millions of people, my wife was the only one! The ancient text is very short, only a few hundred words, but this sentence, after reading it several times, I couldn't help myself for a long time, unknowingly, it's really hard to express the flavor in my heart."

With such feelings, this person is indeed hard to come by.

As for Su Anming, he finally became a third-rank official and was appointed as the governor of a state, which was already considered not very prestigious.

After reading it a few more times, I felt satisfied and put the book back, got up and went out. At this time, however, it was already close to noon.

The sunlight at the end of August is no longer too hot. Walking in the corridor, the sun's rays fall on the surroundings and reach the ground.

"Ah Xin, Fang Xin!" A shout came from afar.

Fang Xinli stood upright, looking far away, a tram stopped in front of him in just ten seconds, and a young man on the car waved at him.

Fang Xin looked at him with some surprise, and a stranger yet familiar person appeared in his mind.

"Li Changping, how did you come?"

"Hey! Have you forgotten that we have a big cleaning session at school this afternoon? We're in the same dormitory, aren't we?"

"Oh, I really forgot." Fang Xin suddenly realized.

Li Changping was fifteen years old and Fang Xin were classmates and friends, also roommates in the same dormitory.

In this era, the invention of new batteries that can be charged in two hours and allow cars to run 150 miles has basically phased out petroleum, a highly energy-consuming and polluting energy source, from the human energy stage. Vehicles based on electric vehicles continue to evolve.

This world has also gone through industrial revolution and environmental pollution, but in the past hundred years, human energy has shifted away from biochemical energy and mainly towards solar energy. In just a short hundred years, the pollution of forests and rivers has been continuously purified, although it is not yet complete, but it is expected that another two hundred years will be needed to restore the world to third-grade standards (Note: This is a standard in this world, which will be explained later).

Although there are all kinds of smart tools, schools still retain the traditional rules of cleaning and sweeping the school by students themselves before the start of school.

Fang Xing nodded and got on his electromagnetic car. In his heart, he couldn't help but feel a little moved. Even in this world, an electromagnetic car was considered a mid-range consumer product. Ordinary people usually took public transportation. Fang Xing wasn't someone who couldn't afford it, but as a homebody, he didn't need to own one.

He chatted with him for a few sentences and before he knew it, they had arrived at school.

The school is basically submerged in greenery, with driveways leading to each building, flanked by lawns and small groves of trees. The various buildings on campus do not seem uniform, with different styles.

Fang Xian even saw the elegant white marble columns of the Greek-style school building, many buildings had emerald green vines crawling on the walls, bringing a splash of color.

Fang Xin's dormitory was actually a three-story unit building, with trees and lawns nearby.

Student dormitory, although there is consideration for living space, but more emphasis on cultivating interpersonal skills among classmates, so it's a suite of three rooms and one hall, with shared bathroom, hall, kitchen.

With a swipe of the card, the door automatically opened and there was already someone inside.

A young man was busy sweeping the floor when he heard a voice and looked up.

"Mei Changtian, hello, we're late." Fang Xin found his memory and said politely.

  "It's nothing, I came first."

Mei Changtian was quite handsome, with a hint of elegance, and the two shook hands.

At the moment of handshake, Fang Xin's eyebrows furrowed, and between the two hands clasped together, an invisible force made contact.

In his body, the Jade-like Intent suddenly moved in one-hundredth of a second, and a weak force followed the point of contact, entering the opponent's body.

This contact was only for an instant, and when the hand let go, this force had quickly returned to Fang Xin's body. In that instant, a complete three-dimensional diagram of the human body appeared in Fang Xin's brain, with the flow of strength inside.

Mei Changtian seemed a bit bewildered, but couldn't quite put his finger on it, and just smiled and said: "Fang Xin, you've made great progress recently, did you work hard during the holidays?"

Mei Changtian was just an ordinary child from a humble family, with living conditions far inferior to those of Fang Xin's original life. If it were the original Fang Xin, he might have looked down on Mei Changtian with disdain, but the current Fang Xin felt a sudden jolt in his heart.

For two months, he had been diligently cultivating his inner energy, and it had increased by 10%, but the total amount of inner energy in Mei Changtian's body was at least twice that of his own.
