Chapter 23: Talking

“Okay, I have some work for you to do,” Raven said to Felix.

“This is the list of things that need to be programmed today.”

She gave him a list she just wrote a bunch of little things on, such as jumping, walking up stairs, some mini games, and similar. Though none of the things on their own would take a lot of time, all of them together would take Raven about 3 days of work.

“Okay, I'll do it. But you have to go to dinner with me.”

“What the actual fuck?” Raven slipped up, since Felix was getting on her nerves so much.

The urge to just scream in his ear, “I'm a lesbian!” was strong, but her urge to keep her job, and be able to pay bills was stronger, so she just forcefully smiled, “Do your work.”

“Okay, but then you have to go to dinner with me.”

There was no way she'd do that.

“Just do your work,” she said and then sat by her computer and started working on the game.

“You know, I actually have a lot of money saved up. I mean like 500k.”

  “Aha, okay,” Raven said unimpressed.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

Though that was a lot of money it didn't really mean much if it wasn't hers. Did he think his money is gonna get her to drool all over him? Raven thought about it for a few seconds, and guessed she would have at least that much self respect, even if she did like men.

“Okay, fine you win. We can be just friends.”

“Co-workers,” Raven fixed him, though she was happy he finally let it go.

Felix turned back to his computer and continued with work while Raven started to think that maybe she would get more done by just herself if only Felix didn't bother her.

And so she typed the code, tested it, and wrote some again. She continued to write and test the code and then fix the issues.

“This is going to take way more than one day to finish,” Felix realized, still working on the first task.

“If you stopped speaking, you might actually make it,” she suggested passive aggressively.

“Then stop talking with me so I can work,” he said and went back to work.

That made even Raven angrier, how could he start a conversation and then act as if Raven did that.

Finally it neared the end of their work day, and so Raven saved everything again and shut down her computer. Then she went to find Daphne, as she wanted to know when they'll be getting new people for this project. But as she walked through the building it became quickly obvious that she already left. Raven couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

Of course having feelings for her boss wasn't the best thing, but she also couldn't really help it. If only Daphne and Felix switched places. But as far as Raven knew, Daphne wasn't really a programmer, so of course that could never happen. Either way, it was time for Raven to leave as well.

She smiled when she saw Felix already left, since that meant at very least she wouldn't have to deal with him.

She walked outside the building and towards her car, which was still standing on the parking lot, as the cars do.

Driving back home, she thought about the game and everything she could do. There were many ideas she wanted to implement, but it was more a matter of time, if she would be able to do all of them.

Even a multi-player could work, as long as she counted on it, and program accordingly. Converting it at a later date would waste too much time. Of course multi-player would need servers to run on, so she'd have to ask Daphne if that would be okay to implement.

Of course the way Raven wanted to do it, was to make it optional, only for certain things, and not for the whole game, which would allow for the intricate story, while allowing your friends to play alongside you.

She parked her car, and went inside her apartment. That's when her phone rang.

She picked it up, it was Bella calling, “Hey, Birdy. Do you have time to come over?”
