Chapter 3-3: Molten Hot Troubles...?

Ten switches could be seen ahead of Rei and Keo, all inactivated. There were unlit torches over each one of them. Rei went over to the nearest switch and pulled it. The torch over it lit up, as well as the one on the top row and opposite side of it. “Looks like we just need to light up all these torches, Ill try a couple more and see If I can find a pattern. Don’t touch anything yet, Keo.” Rei said, pulling the switch that was next to one he just pulled. The torch over it lit up, as well as the one on the second from the top row on the opposite end. “Predictable… This should be easy…” Rei said, moving to the next switch.

“Rei, wait, I know it seems predictable, but be careful, who knows what happen if we get something wrong?” Keo said to Rei. “Wrong, eh! We’ll be fine!” Rei said, leaning up against the next switch. It was pressed down and the ground started to shake. “See, I told you.” Keo said. The ground started to break down from the center of the room, cracking and falling below. “Ugh… any ideas!” Rei yelled, looking below. There seemed to be a deep pit under them, with molten magma at the bottom. They were too late. Rei and Keo fell into the pit.

“AHHHHHHHHHH!!!” The two yelled. “T-try to stay calm, Rei! See if you can find any sort of opening on the cavern walls, it seems like a long way down!” Keo yelled to Rei. “ANOTHER PUZZLE???? HOW CAN I DO ANOTHER PUZZLE WHILE IM FALLING TO IMMINENT DOOM!! Oh… wait… I see an opening…” Rei dove towards the opening, and flung himself inside. He was on solid ground. Keo followed behind, and dove towards to opening. He slipped and grabbed onto the ledge. “N-no!” Rei yelled. He grabbed Keo’s hand and attempted to pull him up. “Ngh… Cmon…!” He groaned. He successfully dragged Keo up, who fell over onto the solid ground. The ground started to crumble once again. “Great.”

They fell down onto a slope that was directly under the falling floor. “Here we go!!!” Rei yelled, sliding down. Keo was flat on his face, sliding behind Rei. The slide dawn had narrow walls, and no detours, or so it seemed. Eventually, Rei and Keo were separated into separate slides. “Keo!! Can you hear me!!” Rei yelled. All that could be heard was Keo tumbling down the opposing slide. “Guess I’m on my own… who knew Keo could stoop too Avi’s level… well, almost to her level… … AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” Rei kept sliding down the slope. He eventually saw an opening below. “(Brace for impact!!)” A rock could be seen ahead. Rei bashed into it, and was flung flat onto his face, back onto solid ground. He picked his head, up …before Keo fell on top of him from the opening above…

“G-Get off of me!!” Rei grumbled. Keo rolled off of Rei and stood up. He adjusted his glasses and said, “That was quite the fall, huh!” Rei stood up, holding his arm, looking at Keo. “T-that was quite the puzzle! It was so confusing… that I ALMOST DIED!!” Rei yelled at Keo. Keo smiled. Rei smiled along. “Well… we didn’t, and that’s what matters… let’s keep going…” There seemed to be no more “puzzles” ahead.

“Lets hope Avi turns up… we have gone in the complete opposite direction of her…” Rei said. “aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH” A high pitched scream could be heard getting louder and louder. “nonononononONONONONO!!!!!!” Avi came crashing through the wall. She fell face first onto the floor. “Well, here she is, I guess…” Rei said. Avi stood herself up, and noticed Rei and Keo. Keo waved to her. “H-hey… lets never… split up like that… again…” Avi said. She seemed to be exhausted. “What happened?” Keo asked. “Ugh… that “combat” room was just a deathtrap! Some giant rock monster tried to eat me! How many things are going to try to eat me!? Well, anyway, I ran away, and fell down some slide, and fell through a weak wall, and found you guys… Let’s just get going…” Avi explained to Rei and Keo her situation. The three kept moving until they were stopped at a stone door, that seemed to be shaped like the door to a room in a settlement.

Rei turned the doorknob and entered the room. Keo and Avi followed behind. There were many rocks in the room. Rock shelves, with carved, decorative rock figures on top of them, rock lights, and rock screens. “How…?” Rei said. “What’s that glowy thing?” Avi asked, pointing to one of the rock screens. There were three in a row, as well as another, more colorful, differently shaped light up rock next to it. “Doesn’t matter, Avi, I’ll explain another time. “Ok… wait… what are we looking for, anyway?” Avi asked. “No idea, actually.” Rei responded. Keo reached for once of his scrolls but was stopped by a voice.

A, large, round, and seemingly obese cave creature appeared turned around from a chair that was seemingly hidden, in front of the light up rocks. “Who… who’s interrupting my gaming session!” The creature could speak fluently. “Uhh… are by any chance, not from around here…?” Rei asked, confused at the existence of a computer in a fantasy world. “I made them… And you can’t have them…” The creature said, adjusting its rock glasses. It could now see clearer and noticed Avi.

“Hi!” Avi said to the creature. She was quickly cut off before she could say anything else. “H-Hot… f-f-f-female… h-h-human… in my r-room!!!!????? AHHHHH!!!!” The creature ran over to Avi. “Here we go again… You do NOT want to know how many times this has happened before you showed up, Rei” Keo said.

“Lets just see how this plays out…” Rei said, looking over to Avi. “Greetings, I am Frongo! Your new husband! Now, tell me your name… my queen!” Frongo, the creature, said to Avi. Avi was confused. She blushed. “Q-queen…? M-me…?” Avi said to Frongo. “Get us out of here!!!” Avi whispered to Rei and Keo. She whispered too loud. “Oopsies! No men allowed… only me… and Avi!!!” Frongo pointed towards the exit. “You cant just kick us out of here…” Rei said, with a dull expression on his face. He grabbed Avi by her arm and tried to drag her away. “I-It was nice to meet you… Frongo!” Avi said, fearfully.

Frongo stomped on the floor, and Rei and Keo fell through a trapdoor. Frongo grabbed Avi. “Ahh!” She whined. “At last, nobody can take you away from me! You are my TOTALLY hot babe…… mmmmmmmmm… Well, lets begin the date!” Frongo said, pulling out a device. “D-Date!? N-No!” Avi whined, again…

Frongo started the device. A catlike voice could be heard on screen. “DATING… START!! Enter your names!” A rock-cat creature said, through the screen. Frongo inputted his name, using the joystick and buttons. “F, r, o, n, g, o! Frongo!” He said. Frongo then inputted Avi’s name. “A, v, I… Avi!” Frongo said. Avi was dumbfounded, she was too confused to even think about trying to leave.

A list of questions appeared on screen, Frongo picked the his first question. “So, Avi… Are you from around here?” Frongo asked. Avi put her fingers together, “N-no…” She responded. “Off to a great start, your turn, my queen!” Frongo handed the device to Avi. She picked the second option on screen. “Uhh… How much do you make…?” Avi asked. “Nothing! I make everything myself! I love being inside this cavern! It just feels so safe and cozy! Now… my question… hmm” Frongo looked at the screen and chose his next option. “Is this your first time getting together with someone?” Frongo asked Avi. “Y-yeah… I’ve never been on a date…” Avi crossed her legs, smiling. She picked her next question. “So, are you ready to get marr- wait, who’s even picking these responses for me anyway! I am an individual!” Avi threw the dating contraption on the ground and smashed it. It let out a meow of pain, and broke apart.” N-no! M-my… 24-Core MTil 7980x!!! You broke it!!! Ugh… guess were gonna have to do this the hard way!!” Frongo said. It stomponed on the floor, and dropped a cage over Avi. “Stay put!!!!” Rei and Keo climbed through the trapdoor they fell through… “Avi!! Lets get you out of here! Ugh… These bars are made of solid rock! How are gonna get you out of there!” Rei said, pulling at the bars. Frongo re appeared, holding two large stone blades. “En Garde”! He said, Charging towards Rei and Keo.

Rei jumped in the air and dodged the attack. Keo ran to the left, but didn’t fire his bow. “I cant see how this guy can be violent! Let’s just try to tire him out! He doesn’t deserve to be hurt, he’s just lonely!” Keo said to Rei, firing arrows away from Frongo. Rei nodded. Avi began cheering Rei and Keo, lifting her arms up, kicking her legs, and smiling. “Behold, my stone blade technique!” Frongo said, Throwing his blades in the air, and grabbing them as they landed. The charged towards Rei once again. Rei jumped and Frongo hit the wall. Keo fired arrows around Frongo, getting them stuck in the wall. Frongo used his blades to cut through the arrows, and kept fighting.

Rei began running circles around Frongo, and Keo fired arrows in random directions. Frongo began to become dazed. He ran into another wall… and another… and another… He fell over, and crawled away… “N-no h-hot babe for me t-today I guess… aww…” Frongo said, He dropped a glowing stone on his way out. Avi’s cage was also destroyed, and she stepped onto the ground. “Woo! Did my cheering work!?” She asked. “You just dated a rock… are you happy!” Rei asked her. “A-and it looks like he does the same thing! Lets get out of here! Hey, whats this glowy thing? You think it will open that blocked off wall back at the entrance? Only one way to find out! Lets get going…” Avi said, leading the group back up to the entrance of the cavern, where the original puzzle and combat rooms were located.

Upon arrival, Avi held up the rock in front of the wall, and it opened. A small, silver key was laying on a pedestal in a small room, which was located behind the now opened wall. “This must be the key to that room back in town… Lets hurry back…” Keo said. The group exited the volcano and swiftly walked all the way back to town.
