Chapter 12,

Excitement filled the air as the festival was today and I could hardly contain myself from excitement and nerves for the day. Belle seemed to be just as nervous for the day so I made sure to smother her with hugs and she did the same for me. Edwin came into my chambers looking as handsome as I had ever seen him in a red suit with pearls running down the jacket, “Are you ready Eleanor?” I nodded and took his arm. “Yes, today will be a good day for everyone, I know it.”

The moment we left the castle everything was decorated in reds and pinks, with flowers strewn all through the streets and decorating the houses. Belle hugged me one last time before she took Aaron’s hand and ran him over to where the line of soon to be newlyweds were waiting. “I would like to see where lovers announce their love for one another.” I said blushing. “That will be later in the day, so let us just enjoy the festival.” Edwin said leading me to a stall selling heart shaped scones.

I had not had this much fun since Delilah came back into my life. We danced and ate all that we could until it was time for Belle and Aaron’s turn with the priest, As he asked them the questions I could not help but notice Belle’s father glaring at me and mouthing something that I could not quite make out, I leaned in on Edwin who took me in his arms and glared back until Belle’s father looked away. “I do!” I heard belle chime and Aaron answered the same both looking prouder then ever as the priest sealed them in marriage leaving them and turning toward the next couple.

Belle and Aaron joined us for a wonderful day and as the sun was beginning to set Edwin kissed my hands, “Now is when we share oaths.” I nodded tired but buzzing with nerves and excitement. Edwin leading me to the middle flower ring and asked, “Do you wish to go first or me?” My stomach did a flip and lowering my voice asked, “Will you go first?” He nodded and kissed my forehead, “Eleanor, you have made me a happy man. I am happy to have such a kind and diligent wife who sees our people as hers and has never strayed from being mine.” Leaning in Edwin kissed me like he did on our wedding night which I melted into until he pulled back and smiled encouragingly to me. “My dear Edwin, you have made me so happy. Happier than I ever thought possible in my life, you are so dear to me and so wonderful to your people, I have found that I love you.” I stammered, trying to keep my voice from lowering then as Edwin had I leaned in to kiss him which he did.
