Chapter Fifty Eight: The New Kings

Chapter Fifty Eight: The New Kings

Nathaniel walked around the city. He’d heard the dragon was killed but he didnt see it.

He had a new mission. He didn’t even hesitate. Nathaniel did not rest for thirty six hours.

One by one, he revived every single dead soldier and villager. All of the dead men and women came back and were shocked, but Nathaniel convinced every single one of them to get back up.

Thirty six hours later, Nathaniel fell asleep against a ruined building.

  Six Months Later.

The Castle of Flowers had been renovated in a massive way. Barraud had overseen the architectural plans, and the castle was more beautiful than ever before. The spikes had been removed. The burned ballista towers were remade and Barraud even made these look fancier.

Batuuk had been given rule over Port Anna, and his bandits had moved there to begin building the new trade city. His previous crimes were pardoned by the new king.

The new king was Nathaniel, and he’d been there to witness Batuuk’s charge head-on at the dragon. There was no one braver than Batuuk.

Nathaniel was elected by the townspeople. They wanted him to be their king. Most of the dead had cleaned their skeletons of flesh, and the Castle of Flowers was home to many lively and friendly skeletons. The streets bustled with activity, the city prospered as the survivors were the only ones who still needed to eat.

The elves brought some humans back to their homeland, to help with their declining population, Dominic strangely signed up to go. Freya chose to stay in the castle.

Lord Redran wrote the book you are reading now, he retired to his manor, and started spreading ghost stories. He lived there with Arkanon and the two friends helped to rebuild Buttermilk.

Stella took a very long time to move on from Jason. He’d disappeared during the battle. She knew he’d died a hero and never forgot him. She kept his flaming sword as a family heirloom. Her new husband was not a secret dragon, just a pear farmer.

Sharky decided to return to the ocean. He finally remembered where his homeland was. He’d forgotten that for a while. He took some treasures with him and was celebrated upon his return.

Brutus and Rodon came out of their shells and began to talk to the other undead people in town. They soon became local celebrities.

Nathaniel was walking out of the castle keep. He wore black pants and a purple decorative shirt and a purple flowing cape. He wore a golden crown and he had a neat, dark beard. He carried a sword and sheath hidden in a cloth under his arm. He walked through the castle street, people called out his name and waved as he walked by.

Nathaniel walked into the pub and the crowd cheered as he walked in. He walked over to skeleton Greg and tapped him on the shoulder. “Looking thin, mate, you gotta stop working out.”

The table of men erupted in hearty laughter. Nathaniel walked over to his usual booth and saw his friend Freya sitting there.

“I found your boyfriend.” Nathaniel said, with a warm smile.

Freya was confused. She stared at the door, expecting a skeleton version of Jason to appear.

Nathaniel opened the cloth and placed the beautiful golden sword in its sheath on the table.

  The End.
