Here we go, the rewrite is up as of yesterday. Few notes before I sign off, to answer any last-minute questions and common concerns.

  1. I will be posting the rewrite as a new story entirely, for many reasons. Foremost of which being that I don't actually want to touch or change this version. Many of you asked me to leave the old version up - rest assured, I have no intentions of taking it down. If only for a sort of legacy thing, and to remind me where I started with this whole thing. It would also mean the loss of all those old comments and things, and I just...I have no desire or intention to take this down.

  2. What changes are being made? There are lots of new scenes. More character-building; like I said, I rushed quite a bit in the old version. Lots of polishing, too. Some condensing of characters and removal of random plot threads - or actually tying those threads back into the story so they don't just get lost. POV changes changed quite a bit, too. Statera's POV is in first person, while everyone else's is now in third; that should make the switching POV's more coherent and cohesive.

  3. Uh...that's about it, actually. Most of the comments and questions were requests to leave this version up. Rest assured, I have no intentions to take it down.
