Chapter 24: Carnage in the Jungle (Part 1)

The camp that was still rough yesterday has become organized. A small square castle with a metal wall of about 500 meters in length and width, several rows of simple metal plate houses, oil tanks, power generation rooms, kitchens and other buildings have been built inside, and even a 400-meter-long field runway has been set up, and two small attack aircraft are taking off from the runway.

Saijin was in one of the metal sheet houses used as a command room, looking at the data report in his hand and laughing 'heh heh'.

This planet's richness is beyond human expectation, with a perfect natural environment and perfect biological communities, leaving people speechless at the rich mineral deposits. This is a treasure star bestowed upon the Sacred Unicorn Mercenary Corps. In just one short night, the unmanned reconnaissance aircraft had already scoured the surrounding 500-kilometer area, discovering five rare and scarce Zakula energy crystal mines, with reserves so abundant that even the normally stoic Sai Zhen couldn't help but burst out laughing. Not to mention the other two large gold mines that were almost exposed on the surface in the form of natural gold nuggets.

To hell with the Federation's "Galactic Expansion Act"! This planet will become the secret base of the Sacred Unicorn. Give Sai ten years, and he'll have the power to challenge the Federation!

"There's no shortage of geniuses and heroes in the world, they just lack a bit of luck." Saiyin snapped his tongue and pulled down the corner of his eye to make a silly face. "Without a doubt, I'm a hero with great luck, and I've never lacked luck."

With a satisfied sigh, Sain's hand pointed and a silver light flashed before him. A beautiful girl with a traditional maid's long dress and a fiery figure emerged from the light. As soon as she appeared, the girl knelt down in front of Sain: "Great master, your slave is willing to do anything for you."

Saiyin's evil smile, he held the girl's face and was about to bring her head closer to his lower body when the door of the command room was suddenly pushed open with force.

A crisp sound, and the girl turned into a flash of silver light that dissipated in mid-air. Sai Jin glared angrily at the person who had burst in.

The one who rushed into the command room was a tall and beautiful woman with fiery red long hair, agile like a leopard. She was also Saren's most trusted confidant and deputy officer.

"Uh, Aridia, can you knock and come in next time?" Sain's gaze swept over the red-haired beauty's high chest under her silver uniform like a fly's proboscis.

"I don't have the energy for this, Saren!" Aridia slammed a file in front of Saren, two sparks burning fiercely deep within her eyes. "A small team of nearly three hundred people who were pursuing Gu Xiechen was ambushed by him, and their leader 'Wild Dog' was injured by him. And you? What have you been doing? Playing with your puppets again?"

"No!" Saren's gaze, as pure as that of a holy angel, looked at Aridia: "Those poor energy aggregates, how could I have such thoughts about them? Hmm, let me take a look at the intelligence."

He hastily grabbed the documents in front of him and after quickly scanning the intelligence on top, he suddenly jumped up.

"Praise all the goddesses, this is good news, at least it proves that this guy is within a hundred kilometers of us, he's still around here!"

"Send all the male gods who have desecrated those goddesses to hell, this guy is a ruthless and vengeful person! Deploy the 'Dawn' squad, spare no expense in taking him down. If possible, capture him alive!" Saijin swung his hand forcefully: "Killing him would only get us a batch of cheap military supplies, but capturing him alive would at least allow me to extort the Gu Corporation three times!"

Aradiya furrowed her brow: "Dawn Squad? You've just formed them, are you really going to mobilize them?"

Saren walked up to Aria, carefully extending his hand to pat her shoulder. "My dear little witch, their existence is for my service. Now is the opportunity for them to prove their worth, why shouldn't I mobilize them? Hmm, Gu Xiechen is still within our control, this is indeed good news!"

Sai's mood was quite good, so he 'accidentally' leaned his head close to Aridyah's face, and his lips 'coincidentally' brushed against Aridyah's red lips. Even with his entire body covered in black smoke from a sudden explosion, Sai's mood remained quite good.

Such good mood, Sai Jin only lasted for three days.

Five mercenaries formed a standard forest search formation, cautiously advancing forward. Gu Xie dust slowly descended from the branches like a giant python, his two arms slid over the necks of the five mercenaries with a soft and boneless touch. The dark, tough potential burst forth, the necks of the five mercenaries rotated 360 degrees accompanied by an ear-piercing "crack" sound.

A team of twenty mercenaries cautiously approached a water pool, with three mercenaries left behind thirty meters away on a mound to keep watch. The other mercenaries walked to the edge of the water pool to fill their canteens. Gu Xiechen suddenly appeared from a hole in the mound, like a mad tiger, and swung out his three claws, tearing apart the chests of the three sentries. He picked up a multi-barreled machine gun and wildly swept it across the mercenaries by the water pool. By the time the nearby search party heard the gunfire and rushed over, only corpses were left on the ground.

Two warriors of the Holy Unicorn Mercenary Group, with over 400 mercenaries, were pursuing the trail left by Gu Xiechen. Suddenly, a large tree trunk exploded, and Gu Xiechen, hiding in the tree hole, rushed to the back of the two warriors with a gust of wind. The Snow-Devouring Divine Claw fell on the two warriors' vital points, causing them to spit blood and fall forward. Gu Xiechen let out a dragon-like roar and charged into the team from the front, killing his way through despite being shot at by hundreds of people, and then disappeared into the dense forest from the rear of the team. Over 200 mercenaries fell to the ground dead, and more than 100 were left crippled and moaning in pain.

As more and more mercenaries were killed or injured, the number of lethal weapons that Gu Xiadun could use also increased.

The mercenaries of the search team were resting in the dense forest when suddenly 5 or 6 hand grenades were thrown from a distance, causing the mercenaries to fall into chaos.

Several small attack aircraft flew rapidly at low altitude, and three missiles with long tails of flame suddenly shot out from the treetops, instantly blowing up two of the attack planes in mid-air.

On the third day, things finally developed to a degree that Sai Er could no longer tolerate. Early in the morning, just after getting out of bed, Sai Er was squatting in front of the command room brushing his teeth when suddenly three gunshots rang out and the sentry standing in front of the command room fell to the ground with a thud, each one shot through the center of their forehead from a distance.

In three days, the mercenary forces of the Holy Unicorn suffered over 1,300 casualties and more than 2,000 serious injuries, with not a single light wound among them. The first batch of mercenaries sent to pursue Gu Xiechen was almost completely annihilated, with all nine pre-heavenly fighters injured. Sai Zhen's Dawn Squad didn't even catch a glimpse of Gu Xiechen's shadow; they always arrived at the scene of the attack in the shortest time possible, but by then Gu Xiechen had long since fled to who-knows-where in the endless dense forest.

Perched on a branch of a giant tree over 100 meters tall, gazing out at the camp of the sacred unicorn, Gu Xuan's body was covered in moss and dust, making him look like a wild man. He slowly munched on the field rations he had snatched from the mercenaries, occasionally lifting up a small wine jug to take a sip of grape wine. Next to him, a tree branch held a backpack full of food - sausages, bacon, cheese, chocolate, and canned wine - it was almost like a spring outing picnic, if not for the dark clouds gathering in the sky, brewing a storm.

Gu Xiadun had another wild battlefield backpack on his back, stuffed with hand grenades and plastic explosives. All firearms have built-in positioning chips, Gu Xiadun can't remove the chips, all firearms can only be used once and then discarded, only consumables like hand grenades and explosives don't have positioning functions, he dares to carry them with him.

"I'm going to give you a big surprise."

The fingers dug out a hole about a foot deep in the trunk, stuffed the packaging bag of field rations into the hole and filled it with wooden strips to seal it tightly, and all traces were cleaned up neatly.

"I'm going to give you a good scolding."

An old, quavering voice seemed to echo in Gu Xuan's ear: "If you want to survive, you must retaliate with tooth for tooth and blood for blood. When someone only wants to harm you, the best way is to kill him first, along with everyone related to him."

"That old guy was right!" Gu Xie gritted his teeth, sitting cross-legged on a tree branch as he gazed out at the campsite in contemplation: "I'll give you guys a show of strength, but... it's a bit of trouble."

  Trouble has arrived.

Guxiao Dust watched as several heavy mining trucks poured into the camp under the guard of a large group of mercenaries, among whom were thirty or so men in white uniforms. Guxiao recognized these white-clad men, and every time he ambushed those mercenaries, they would arrive at the scene within five minutes. Everyone had extremely strong strength, each person was a congenital high-ranking master, and their congenital ligation condensed to a degree that was not inferior to Guxiao Dust's. Any one of these white-clad men had the strength to defeat Guxiao Dust head-on.

The mining cart stopped in the middle of the camp, the bucket slowly lifted up, and a large pile of rough Zha'kr crystal ore poured onto the ground.

Far, far away, he roughly estimated that this pile of rough Zha'Krael crystals was at least thirty cubic meters. After refining and processing, it should be possible to obtain twenty-five cubic meters of standard energy crystal blocks. Gu Xiechen's eyes turned red in an instant. Twenty-five cubic meters of Zha'Krael crystals - how much would this increase his cultivation? Not to mention that with these energy crystals, he might truly be able to ignite his boundary and possess the power that a Boundary Master should have.

Saijin walked out of the command room, standing in the center of the camp, and slowly raised his right hand towards the sky. As if knowing that Gu Xiechen was staring at him from afar, Saijin straightened his middle finger towards the sky. A long whistle came out of Saijin's mouth, and the sound wave rolled far away with a loud whoosh. The surrounding forest seemed to be shaken by a tiger's roar, and the trees swayed in unison.

"Hmph!" Guxiao Dust ignored Saichen's provocation, sitting on a tree branch with his legs crossed, waiting quietly for Saichen's next move.

A silver glow floated up from under Sai's feet, and he hovered above a pile of rough Zha'zhi crystals. A beam of silver light shot out of his eyes. The silver light wrapped around the crystal ore, and streams of brilliant light poured into Sai's body, filling him with an enormous energy that even Gu Xuan could sense from kilometers away. As time passed, threads of silver light began to shoot out from Sai's body, each one transforming into a girl in a silver uniform holding a long sword. The girls shouted "Long live the master!" and formed up to march towards the dense forest.

"Damn it!" Gu Xie Chen was stunned.

One after another, silver lights burst forth, and one by one, either delicate, or pure, or elegant, or beautiful maidens were born from the void.
