Chapter 39: The Magical Plant

Looking at this little guy, I couldn't help but smile wryly, wondering where its parents had gone. It's been hooked on the fish I caught and has actually followed me, looking quite clever.

It wasn't until the next morning when a crisp sound suddenly came: "Cock-a-doodle-doo!"

I looked up to see that it was the firebird that had fought with the giant ape and both were wounded, flying over. As soon as this little firebird saw me, it immediately let out a "chee-chee" cry, dropped the fish in its mouth, and rushed over.

The large bird of prey also flew down beside it, softly calling out twice, then gently pecking at the little guy's feathers with its beak. The little guy also rubbed its head against the large bird of prey in a very human-like manner.

At this time, the big firebird also saw me and flew over to stand beside me, calling out "Ga Ga!" I couldn't understand its voice, but I could grasp its meaning.

This guy was thanking me for helping them drive away the wolf pack and saving their lives last time, I also spat out a mouthful of saliva to express my meaning to it.

Everyone was a fierce beast, with spiritual communication, although they couldn't speak to each other, but everyone could understand the meaning. At this time, the little firebird also flew over and picked up the fish that had been thrown away earlier, swallowing it in one gulp. Then, it chirped "Chirp! Chirp!" while flying around me and making gestures to the big firebird.

It means that we all understand, this little guy is thanking me for giving it fish to eat. The large firebird listened and was even more grateful to me with a soft cry, and this time, I could also see from its eyes that it had lost its previous slight disdain and hostility, and instead flowed out a stream of humanized gratitude.

However, I also figured it out that this little guy is actually the child of the large firebird. No wonder they were so affectionate when they met. The large firebird had been severely injured in a fight with the giant ape and didn't know where to go for treatment, leaving the little guy alone in the nest. The little guy was hungry, so it came out to find food on its own and encountered me.

Before, it was just ordinary gratitude when it said I saved it, but after knowing that I helped its child, it was a true outpouring of emotion. Even from its eyes, I could see that if it had to give up its life to repay me for saving its child, it would do so without hesitation. I let out a soft sigh, never expecting that animals and humans shared the same innate maternal instinct, willing to sacrifice their lives for their children.

But I never thought it would all become a reality, of course, that's another story.

At this time, the large firebird suddenly rose into the air, circling above my head, then nodded and called to me, as if calling me to follow it. I didn't know what it meant, but I could feel that it wouldn't harm me, so I brought the eye-glasses snake and followed behind the mother and child.

Because of the slow speed of the eyeglasses snake and the little firebird, it wasn't until more than thirty minutes later that we arrived at a mountain stream, which seemed to divide this forest into two parts.

Below is the cliff, but it doesn't look very deep, about 20 stories high. We slowly slid down, and at the bottom were all sorts of colorful flowers and grasses, like a paradise on earth.

Smelling the fragrance of flowers, I felt a sense of euphoria and suddenly became excited, dashing around wildly inside. The glasses snake followed behind me and asked: "Ji Chen, what's going on? It's just some flowers and grass, why are you so excited?"

It certainly doesn't understand my mood at this time, for animals, some flowers and grass may not excite them, but I'm using human thinking to appreciate this paradise on earth, which is naturally another kind of mood.

I couldn't describe the feeling, it was just an endless forward drilling, and the firebird followed me from behind. After a while, the big firebird called out to me again, meaning I had to follow it again.

I stopped advancing with a sense of unfulfilled excitement, and then followed it to crawl in another direction. Soon we arrived at the edge of the cliff, where there was a cave about two meters wide and three meters high.

I didn't understand why it brought me to this cave, and just then a low howl came from inside the cave, followed by a giant ape emerging from within.

I took a look, and it turned out to be the giant ape from last time's duel with the Firebird. I was a bit confused - what did the Firebird bring me here for? Did it want me to help it deal with this giant ape?

The firebird seems to understand my thoughts at this moment, it hovers over the giant ape's head for a while, and then suddenly stands on its head. This scene makes me stunned, what is going on? Aren't they sworn enemies? Why do they look so friendly now?

At this time, the giant ape shook its head, throwing down the firebird. Then it let out a roar towards me, but this time its roar was very gentle, without any pressure or hostility, and instead seemed to be speaking to me.

Then it looked into the cave again, and at this time the firebird also called me, and its head was looking into the cave. At this moment, I understood that these two guys wanted to let me go inside the cave, but what did they want me to do in the cave? Did they want to cheat me into the cave and then get rid of me?

Damn it, is this really possible? But this doesn't make sense, why would they join forces to take me down? Even if they wanted to kill me, they could just do it now and I wouldn't be able to escape anyway.

It seemed to have noticed my hesitation, and the giant ape's impatient nature made it scratch the ground twice with its claws before turning its head and going in.

The firebird also got a bit anxious, then circled above my head and directly used its claws to pull on my tail, wanting to drag me in. I couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. At this point, I realized that these two guys didn't have any hostile intentions towards me, probably they just wanted me to go into the cave to see something.

Forget it, whether it's good luck or bad luck, maybe I'm just overthinking, if others want to kill me, even if it's just one of them, I won't be able to beat them, why bother with such thoughts?

I no longer hesitated, then turned my head and drilled into the cave. When I went in, the giant ape was overjoyed and took me deeper. When I went in, I was frightened to see several skeletons inside, which seemed to be human, of course, there were also animal ones.

They seem to be used to it, going straight forward, and I can only temporarily follow up. I took a look at this cave, inside is wider than the entrance, all naturally formed, without any artificial marks. I don't know what's inside this cave that makes these two guys so mysterious.

The cave seemed very deep, and after crawling for a while, it suddenly brightened up in front of me. The cave ahead widened, about twice as wide as before, and the originally dim cave also became brighter.

My heart skipped a beat, because on the wall of the cave, one meter above, grew a plant similar to a sunflower, except that this sunflower's petals were several times larger than those of an ordinary sunflower, but it was also much shorter than an ordinary sunflower, only about thirty centimeters high.

What's even more amazing is that it emits a white glow, just like the magical mushroom I saw in the sewer at first, and the sunflower's light is even stronger, illuminating the entire cave as if it were lit up.

Seeing this scene, I was shocked and stayed there, but I also understood that the two guys could become fierce beasts, and the reason must be related to this magical sunflower.

As expected, the giant ape let out a low growl at me, then looked towards the sunflower, meaning for me to go up and feel it, the firebird's intention was also the same.

What a wonderful thing, I naturally wouldn't let it go, and immediately crawled towards the sunflower. A warm feeling spread throughout my body, making my blood circulation accelerate.

I closed my eyes and enjoyed everything, but at this time the little firebird also "chirped" and flew over, also with a look of enjoyment. It seems that it is also its first time here, I don't know why the big firebird didn't bring it before?

Then the little firebird lay down beside me, its eyes slightly closed. At this time, the giant ape and the large firebird exchanged a glance, slowly retreating to the entrance of the cave, as if giving us space.

And I gradually fell asleep in this enjoyment...

I don't know how long it took, but I was woken up by a loud roar. As soon as I opened my eyes, I looked at the little firebird next to me, and this little guy seemed to have been startled awake too. It looked at me with a puzzled face, as if asking what had happened, disturbing its sweet dreams.
