Chapter Eleven: Poisonous Thorn

After being hit by a fierce blow, the barbarians without armor protection suffered heavy losses. Except for a few lucky ones, all of them were blasted into minced meat by the evil eye's light bullet.

Looking at the unrecognizable forest, looking at the giant rocks that were blown to dust, the rescued people stared blankly, unable to recover for half a day. No one could have imagined that the ferocious and brutal savages had vanished into thin air just moments before.

"Thank you, sir, for saving my life!" With a clear mind and no longer dreaming, Kasi knelt down in front of Yang Ling with a 'thud'. Soon after, under his lead, the others also knelt down.

"Rise up, it's just a small effort, no need for courtesy!" After leaving some cornered beasts to keep watch around them, Yang Ling gathered the demonic beast army.

"Thank you, sir, for saving my life!"

"The adults are so kind, they will surely be rewarded in the future!"

  .....

After repeatedly thanking Yang Ling's great kindness, people stood up one after another, crying with joy and excitement for escaping the mortal world. Only a thin girl was still kneeling on the ground, crying and begging: "Sir, please save Alice's grandfather! He is about to be pushed down into the abyss by those barbarians!"

The girl crawled towards Yang Ling while crying, her eyes red and swollen, with tears streaming down her face. Her knees were also unknown whether they were injured or scratched by the sand and stones on the ground, leaving a shocking trail of blood wherever she crawled.

"Sir, save Alice's grandfather, and Alice will be your servant for life, sir..."

Alice lifted her head, tears streaming down her face, her long eyelashes wet with tears, and her bright eyes shining with endless sorrow. With her thin shoulders and slender waist that could be grasped in one's hands, she was truly a pitiful sight to behold.

After rescuing everyone, Yang Ling originally wanted to leave early, but looking at the pitiful Alice, he couldn't bear to harden his heart for a while.

At the same time, looking at Alice who was in extreme pain, everyone wanted to kneel down and beg for mercy, but thinking that the barbarian tribe was heavily guarded and had many brave warriors, they couldn't help but hesitate. Yang Ling was indeed very powerful, but after all, he was only one person, how could he let his benefactor risk his life to venture into the tiger's lair?

"Sir, we still have dozens of poor relatives left in the hands of barbarians, I don't know if you have any companions or followers nearby?"

As a wandering mercenary for many years, Kassy knew that a powerful summoner like Yang Ling must have many strong followers by his side. If Yang Ling was willing to lend his full support, then going to the Barbarian tribe to rescue people wasn't completely hopeless either.

  Followers?

Yang Ling smiled bitterly, he was alone and had no one to rely on. The only ones who could be considered as reinforcements were the Spirit Tribe, but they were facing Emiya's revenge at any moment, so it was unlikely that they would send a large army to assist him.

After the conversation, Yang Ling understood what was going on. It turned out that the barbarians had captured a large number of humans who ventured into the Tras Forest, raised them in captivity, and then dragged one out every few days as a sacrifice, pushing them alive into a bottomless pit.

A few hours ago, Kassy and the others risked their lives to escape from prison, but unfortunately the barbarians reacted quickly, and most people were unable to rush out, including Alice's elderly grandfather.

"What, taking a living person as an offering?" Yang Ling shook his head, recalling some African indigenous tribes on Earth that had once roasted people like wild boars. After hesitating for a moment, he gritted his teeth and said: "In that case, we can only make a trip!"

Although the barbarians were strong and numerous, Yang Ling believed that with his own demon beast army, even if he couldn't rescue the people, at least he could retreat unharmed. This trip to the barbarian tribe would not only allow him to rescue the captured humans but also further strengthen his understanding of the surrounding indigenous tribes, achieving two goals at once.

When Yang Ling agreed, people couldn't help but kneel down again to thank him. Many of them still had relatives locked inside, and thinking of their loved ones' faces, they couldn't help but burst into tears.

Time waits for no one, after refusing the crowd's request to go together, Yang Ling took Kassy to the Barbarian tribe. Before leaving, he released a horned beast to lead the way for the crowd and take them to the nearby Elf tribe to seek refuge. Although the Elves are not welcoming to humans, in consideration of their own face, the Elf elder should give some leeway.

"Wait for me, I'm going with you!" After walking a distance, the little girl Alice caught up with them relentlessly. After trying to persuade her in vain and seeing that she had made up her mind, Yang Ling and Kassy could do nothing but give in.

The vicinity of the barbarian tribe was surrounded by towering ancient trees, and the three people occasionally encountered barbarian warriors or scouts on patrol. Fortunately, under the guidance of the Angle Worm Beast, they traveled safely without any accidents.

  Quack, quack, quack.....

Suddenly, Alice's foot kicked empty air and she let out a sharp cry, startling awake a sleeping Siberian eagle. As the damned beast flapped its wings and flew away screeching, Yang Ling coldly snorted and commanded the nearby hornet beasts to swarm up, instantly silencing it.

Just as the cornered beast was about to make its move, in an instant it swallowed the unlucky Hibari Eagle into its belly. Alice was shocked and lost color. Fortunately, Yang Ling's eyes were quick and his hands were fast, one hand supporting her slender waist, the other covering her cherry-like small mouth, "Shh, be careful. Don't make a sound, beware of startling the barbarian's sentry!"

Holding the petite Alice, against her delicate and elastic skin, Yang Ling unintentionally caught a whiff of a faint virgin fragrance. Subconsciously lowering his head to take a look, the little girl's twin peaks were not large, but exceptionally firm, causing his heart to flutter involuntarily.

At the same time, being tightly held in Yang Ling's arms, smelling the unfamiliar man's scent, Alice felt a wave of panic and confusion, her face flushing bright red. But with a group of barbarians walking by just a short distance away, she had no choice but to quietly lean against Yang Ling's body.

After the barbarian sentry went far away, the three of them set off again, evading the barbarians' scouts and hidden sentries along the way, and quietly arrived at the pine forest where their tribe was located.

The barbarian tribe's village is nestled in the mountains and by the water, with only one narrow path over three meters wide for entry and exit, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack. Even Yang Ling wouldn't be able to sneak in silently, let alone with the injured Kassy and the delicate Ailice.

"What to do, sir?" Under Yang Ling's guidance, the mercenary Kassy dodged the barbarians' scouts and sentries multiple times, becoming more and more convinced of Yang Ling. As for Elyse, no matter what Yang Ling said, she would not budge westward - Yang Ling was now her only hope to rescue her grandfather.

After dispatching a few clever horned beasts, Yang Ling soon obtained the needed intelligence, but the result was depressing. The small road had many barbarian warriors guarding it tightly at both ends, with sentries every five steps, and there were also many people patrolling on the water's surface, making it difficult to sneak past from underwater. For a moment, apart from forcing his way through, he couldn't think of any other good method.

"What to do, sir? The sun is about to set. If we don't act quickly, the savages will start their ritual!" Today just happened to be Grandfather's turn as the sacrifice, and Alice was frantic with worry.

As the savage tribe across from them ignited a thick cloud of black smoke, it was immediately followed by a chorus of wolf-like howls. Cassie's anxiety grew to the point where she was drenched in sweat. The black smoke was every human captive's worst nightmare; whenever it rose, it meant that someone would soon be pushed into the seemingly bottomless pit near the savage tribe's altar.

"What to do, sir? Sir..." Alice's eyes were red and swollen, her anxiety almost driving her mad. If not for Kassy tightly grasping her right hand, she probably would have recklessly rushed out already.

To lure you into a trap?

Looking at the barbarians guarding both ends of the narrow path, Yang Ling suddenly had an idea and came up with a bold plan. "Kassy, you make a fake attack and rush out; Elissa, cut down as many wild vines as possible nearby and tie up the barbarians."

Although she didn't quite understand what Yang Ling meant, Kassy rushed out without hesitation, and Ailice also sprang into action. At the same time, Yang Ling jumped onto a treetop to hide, remaining perfectly still.

"Go die!" Raising the crude giant axe he had picked up, Kassy charged at a barbarian without looking back.

"Haha, one person comes back to raid the camp, it's simply more stupid than a Saro pig!"

  "Hey, looking for death!"

  .....

After the unexpected event, Kasi returned alone to the camp, and the barbarian guards burst out laughing, not taking it seriously. However, just as they thought Kasi would be split in two by the approaching tribesman's axe, suddenly, the tribesman let out a miserable cry, and then fell down softly.

  "Damn it, looking for death!"

In a state of shock, the barbarians rushed forward, eager to chop Kassy into minced meat. Unexpectedly, just as they saw a horned beast flash by like lightning, they suddenly felt a numbness in their chest; soon after, they became weak all over, and were kicked flying one by one by Kassy, then tightly bound up one by one by Alice.

At the critical moment, Yang Ling remembered the hundred Angle Beasts that had evolved to the second stage. They could launch three poisonous stingers every day, and although the poison wouldn't be fatal, it would numb the enemy's entire body, rendering them unable to move or fight.

The barbarians were strong in combat, but basically had no armor, and it was difficult to withstand the poisonous stings of the Angle Worm Beast. Yang Ling believed that as long as he captured a batch of barbarian warriors, he could naturally exchange prisoners with their leader. And maybe even make a fortune from them.
