  Tale: A book that grants an Author its powers and stats.

  Prologue: The second page of a Tale, describing how an individual becomes a drafted. It may influence the available Synopsis choices.

  Synopsis: The Author's archetype. It affects their initial stats, pages, items, and Burdens. The first page of a Tale.

  Burden: Abilities granted by one's Synopsis.

  Prelude: A drafted's first challenge. An event where the selected drafted are transported into a special area of the Labyrinth and must find a way to survive and escape.

  Labyrinth: A dangerous dungeon composed of endless floors. The only way to access the Labyrinth is to become a drafted or be a dweller.

  The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

  Drafted: The weakest type of Author, chosen by the Labyrinth.

  Fabled: A Drafted who survived his Prelude. Represents a qualitative improvement of power.

  Floor/Story: A level inside the Labyrinth. Usually, the deeper the floor, the more dangerous it is.

  Maze: A maze-like structure inside each floor, inhabited by terrors and riddled with traps. Usually, the only path connecting Crossroads and Apexes.

  Crossroad: An exit to the previous floor.

  Apex: An entrance to the next floor.

  Outskirts: These are rare, safer areas within a floor, often home to dwellers and unique biomes.

  Dwellers: Humans born inside the Labyrinth.

  Terrors: Monstrous creatures that inhabit the Labyrinth. Once killed, some contain pages.

  Gullet: Rare, secret passages between floors, allowing Authors to travel across floors without going through the Apex and Crossroads.

  Maws: Passages from the Maze to the Outskirts.
