"No, no, no! Joyce, what are you doing!" Cynthia grasped the armor he wore tightly, looking up at the man with a sheep-like curly face and a clear complexion. "You can't go to your death!"
Joyce only left a comforting smile, with the last words, "Knights are forever loyal, take care of yourself, Lady Cynthia, may the Light God be with you, and His Highness will find you back."
He thrust the reins and whip into Cynthia's hands and tumbled off the horse.
Cynthia didn't even have time to catch a glimpse of his fleeing figure.
"Joyce!"
She let out a loud cry, and for the first time in her life, she truly felt the cruelty of ancient times, with the most genuine tears welling up in her eyes.
It would be great if she knew magic, but she's a fake! She can't help at all!
The darkness quickly swallowed Joyce's figure.
In the eternal night, Cynthia couldn't tell directions at all. She only knew that the horse under her was taking her through a thorny forest, and these plants scratched her skin so painfully.
Cynthia began to think with great anger, as long as she didn't die this time, she would definitely find the God of Light and pull him down from his throne! To make up for her own miserable experience of being tortured before retirement!
The road seemed to be getting more and more biased, the clothes on her body had long been scratched by branches, and blood beads kept rolling down from the cut wounds, leaving marks for the vampires who came along the way.
Lais never hurried to quickly kill his prey, but the scent on Cynthia was like the sweetest fragrance in a bouquet of flowers. This scent mixed with blood stimulated him and made the back of his neck tingle.
His hood was blown off by the wind, revealing his exceptionally beautiful face, with a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
Lais wanted to tease her a bit, the prey was most delicious when it was exhausted, with blood and heartbeat at their most active.
"Unfortunately, you're about to enter his territory now, this won't do." Lais whispered softly, "I don't want to share you with that annoying guy."
Cynthia seemed to hear the sound of rushing water beside her ear, and the gurgling noise made her lash down another whip on the horse's buttocks.
With a loud whinny, she crouched on the horse's back without noticing at all that a figure was rapidly approaching her from the iron fir tree beside her.
Sweet girl.
A gentle voice and a torrent in the dark night mixed together kept pounding on Cynthia's heart, "Almost let you get away."
She could feel a wave of damp breath washing over her, and before she could react, a chest as hard and cold as marble was pressed against her back.
Her belly was pressed against the horse's back and squeezed into a palm that had no temperature at all.
Cynthia was suddenly lifted into the air, she let out a cry of surprise and then saw that she was face to face with a vampire who had honey-colored long hair and looked elegant like a dark night elf.
The alarm in his mind was constantly ringing because of this face.
The horse quickly ran away without a trace after being abused by her.
Lais pinned Cynthia against a tree trunk, holding her firmly in his arms.
He didn't cross that raging torrent and get onto his turf without Les having time to do what he wanted to do.
He suppressed his desire to eat and looked at Cynthia's face.
"I have to say, you are the most beautiful human being I've ever seen."
Lais lowered his head and rubbed his nose against Xynthia's exposed white neck.
He wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse, even his high nose was hard like a stone.
Cynthia's heart was beating fast, and that rhythm sounded like the most pleasant background music to Les before dinner.
"You killed Joyce!" She glared at him viciously.
"Joyce?" Lays thought for a moment before chuckling and saying: "The one who got off the horse halfway? He's dead."
He was a true beast, using the most charming smile and the softest tone to say words that made Cynthia extremely heartbroken.
She hated Minnie Ann, hated that hug.
Cynthia tried hard to keep calm, the opportunity Joyce fought for her, she had to find a way to survive.
She suppressed her sorrow, and quietly put her hand to her waist, feeling the pouch containing gold coins. "I am Lady Cynthia of Rhodania, you have no right to execute me here!"
"This isn't an execution." Lest raised her chin, speaking in a tone that was almost benevolent: "I'm not going to suck you dry into some ugly husk, I want to own you."
"Human life is only a hundred years, I can give you eternal life, and release endless passion." His mouth corner cracked into a smile, revealing a row of snow-white teeth.
The last sentence made Cynthia shudder.
Become a hard piece of marble?
She thought Gu Ming God would definitely not like her touching him, and there was no elasticity at all.
Cynthia kept changing her expression, switching between emotions so quickly that Lays couldn't even tell whether she was sad or angry.
He listened to her gradually stabilizing heartbeat and said with some dissatisfaction, "Alright, it seems you're no longer afraid of me. You sure calm down fast."
"My venom can give you the most pleasurable thing in the world." Lest raised her up a bit, his sharp-toothed mouth approaching Cynthia, "Come on, sweet girl."
"I don't like being with you, there's nothing about you that I like." Cynthia jeered, and as he froze in surprise at her words, she stuffed the gold coins in her hand into his mouth.
Thick white smoke suddenly burst out of Lays' mouth.
The gold coin that had been blessed by holy water and received a blessing caused him to painfully release Cynthia.
Her feet pounded against the muddy ground as Cynthia started running desperately towards the direction of the raging stream.
As she inhaled the damp mist on the surface of the stream, her feet also stepped into the icy cold water.
The water was up to her ankles, cold enough to almost make her lose her balance.
She was struggling to wade through the stream, but never expected to run into that young man again in a place like this, whom she had saved and who had secretly slipped away.
He seemed to have noticed her situation, standing straight by the stream, his eyes empty under the moonlight.
"Save me!" Cynthia struggled to walk towards him, calling out to him.
Lais, who had been tricked, hid under an ironwood tree, his eyes gleaming with a terrifying light as he touched the corner of his mouth, unwilling to let go.
Cynthia's urgent call made Caius turn his head, perhaps the voice was very familiar, and a bewildered emotion appeared in those empty eyes when he saw her.
The water was too rapid, and the smooth stones that had been washed clean by the current were unable to support Cynthia's footing. She fell clumsily into the water, her shallow golden hair floating on the waves, and fresh blood spreading around her body.
She was almost out of strength, but still struggled to stretch out her hand towards Kayus...
