Chapter 18: Then he must be teasing you

  Cynthia nodded, "Uh-huh."

"How did you come?" The pharmacist asked again.

Cynthia being exiled to Tamriel as the Third Princess of the Ryndian Dynasty, no one should know except for Caecus and Leis in the Eternal Forest.

She thought for a moment and didn't mention that she was the Saint Girl, only hanging her head and saying: "I was captured by Lays, the terrifying vampire in the Eternal Night Forest."

"Rays? They have a territory in the Eternal Night Forest, and that lord is quite picky." The pharmacist narrowed his eyes, re-examining Cynthia again, sniffing her body once more before suddenly realizing something.

"You've got bloodstains on you, it's only natural that the gentleman wants to eat you. No vampire can resist the temptation of this scent and not bite you."

She re-mixed a bowl of something that looked like plasma, poured it into a glass bottle and handed it to Cynthia. "Take this back tonight and soak in it for a while to get rid of the smell, but don't stay too long, or it will consume your energy and leave you feeling weak all day."

Cynthia didn't know how she had smelled it out, she tucked her hair back in and took the bottle, thanking him before asking quietly, "Aren't you worried... they come into town to feed?"

Tamriel has a much higher tolerance for vampires than Redania.

"Although Temeria is a vassal state of Redania, it was Lord Cahir who was the master of this city-state, and he appeared earlier than anyone else."

The pharmacist spoke of Kayrus with a tone full of reverence, "The boundaries he drew do not allow vampires to hunt recklessly in the daytime, nor can they intrude into others' homes at night."

Cynthia let out a sigh of relief, which meant that even if she encountered Lays in the future, he would absolutely not dare to secretly give her food.

But then she realized an extremely serious problem.

"Mr. Keats... isn't he very poor?" Cynthia looked stunned, "Because he asked me to take all the gold coins and give them to him to fix his house."

"Hmph, he must be teasing you."

The pharmacist covered his mouth and burst out laughing, the motion was so big that even the single-lens glasses on the bridge of his nose fell off. "I can say he is the richest man in the entire city-state, of course, as the incarnation of the Dark God, that gentleman's violent temper and being unapproachable are all understandable."

  "Dark God Incarnate?..."

It turned out to be the Dark God's incarnation!

Cynthia felt like she was going to split open.

Her facial expression froze there, "You're saying... Lord Kyrios is a Dark God?"

"It's just that he is incomplete." The pharmacist softened his tone, as if touching on some sort of taboo, and interrupted the conversation.

Cynthia suddenly remembered what Luka had said to her in the rose garden.

He once sent troops to Tamriel over the matter of the Dark Lord's reincarnation...

It just so happened that during the time she was being flowed, she met a wounded Kael at a tavern on the border.

  What a coincidence.

Caius's black hair is not due to a dark curse, he himself is the embodiment of darkness.

The shocking news hit her like a ton of bricks and she collapsed onto the bed.

This is simply sending oneself into the wolf's mouth...

The apothecary thought she was tired and said, "You can rest here until evening, but you must return home by sunset. The dark Tameria is not safe, Lord Kyrios has banished the darkness, and killing at night is not a crime."

Before leaving, she said: "Today I won't charge you any fee, but tomorrow you must exchange for enough gold coins and return them to me."

Cynthia nodded and curled up into a ball on the bed.

She is completely bewildered by the current situation.

She made up her mind that the person following her was the incarnation of the Dark God, but the progress bar for attacking the Light God was increasing because of him.

What's worse, Kael knew she was Logh's sister, which means he wasn't moved by her sacrifice and chose to bring her back because he actually used her as a bargaining chip?

She had said before that Luo Jia would definitely come to take her away.

So Kaier kept herself by her side, and yesterday she even agreed to stay with her request, just to see what kind of reaction she would have.

  Collapse, fear, or terror...

  He is teasing her!

Cynthia's hand under her black robe clenched into a fist. He was really vicious, too vicious! She had indeed encountered a formidable opponent.

But did she really have to fear and be afraid of him as he wished?

Kairos is playing with her like this, probably still has some interest in her. If she really goes along with his intentions, he might directly put a knife to her throat and have someone deliver the message to Rhodania.

Let's not talk about whether Luo Ya will really come to save people, she can't escape her fate of death.

That's Dark God! Even if it's an incomplete incarnation, she is extremely hateful of light, and yet she has expressed her eternal loyalty to the Light God in front of him.

"Alas." Cynthia let out a heavy sigh, as if she was about to lose her head at any moment. These days were really too desperate.

She curled up in her quilt and slept with a tangled mess of thoughts until late afternoon.

The pharmacist came to call her and she packed up and rushed back home before nightfall.

The cost of the carriage was also temporarily owed because she only had the gold coins that had been given to her.

The people of this place don't like things filled with sacred aura, even if they're worth a city.

Standing in front of that building. Cynthia had already rehearsed many times in her mind, what kind of reaction she should show when she saw Kael to save her life.

The door of the room was open, and a young man with a straight back sat in front of a wooden table inside, looking unrealistically beautiful.

Cynthia's mind went blank again for a moment.

She recalled again how he wouldn't even get hurt when engulfed in flames.

  Why?

Caius looked at Cynthia standing at the door, hesitating to enter, his eyes gloomy, and a sarcastic tone emerged from his lips, "Afraid?"

He had long seen through the ending and was not surprised at her reaction. He even stretched out a bit of his own foot, waiting for Cynthia to come over and kiss the tip of his shoe to beg for mercy.

Cynthia's eyes misted over with a layer of water vapor, her hand in the cloak clenched into a fist on the hem, and she slowly moved closer, softly asking, "Why did you leave so early? I'm really scared when I'm alone, and I also have a fever."

The bedroom was quiet for a while until Cynthia closed the door and didn't hear Kyrios continue his words.

His scarlet eyes were fixed on her with an extremely concentrated gaze.

He can't seem to understand why she would say something like that, and he doesn't get why she's still talking to him in this tone even after knowing he's the Dark God.

Cynthia's arm hair almost stood up with an exciting feeling of being locked by a beast.
