[The Next Day, Somewhere Else Within The Tower]
- DJINNS WITHIN THE TOWER! says a holographic figure. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!?
- And it wasn't any Djinn. says another holographic figure. The Djinn were Blood Fiends, in other words, Vampire spawns.
- Blood Fiends, huh? says a third holographic figure. That's undoubtedly the work of a vampire
- HOW DID THEY EVEN GET WITHIN THE TOWER! yells the first holographic figure. THE TOWER KILLS ANY DJINNS THAT GETS IN A 50-METER RADIUS FROM IT! HOW THE HELL DID THEY APPEAR WITHIN THE TOWER!?
The three holographic figures look at the fourth figure sitting on a chair
- I have no clue. answers the fourth figure nonchalantly
- This is not the answer we want from you. replies the third holographic figure with a bit of anger in his tone
- I have some information, but I am not sure you want to hear it. says the figure
- What is it? asks the first holographic figure with a tone full of anger
- We have already discovered who was behind the attack. says the second holographic figure calmly
- Finally! says the first holographic figure. Finally, a piece of good news!
- I wouldn't call it a piece of good news if I were you. says the figure with a smile
- What are you trying to say? asks the third holographic figure
- The one behind the attack was the Fourth Djinn King. says the second holographic figure
- YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! yells the first holographic figure with panic. That means that the one behind the attack was-
- The King Of Vampire, Dracula. finishes the third holographic figure with a shaky voice
- To think it was a King behind the attack. says the first holographic figure. Does that mean he has grown strong enough to approach the tower without getting killed?
- If that were the case, he wouldn't have sent Blood Fiends to do the job. says the figure. He would have come himself to do it
- That makes sense. says the third holographic figure. But if that's the case, then how did he do it? How did he manage to send Blood Fiends to the first floor?
- The Grey Lion Order managed to create a hypothesis as to how that happened. answers the second holographic figure
- The fourth Lion Order, huh? says the third holographic figure. And, what is it that they found out?
- The Grey Lion Order believes that the Blood Fiends were able to bypass the tower defense system because the tower does not acknowledge them as "Djinns". says the second holographic figure
- What does that mean? asks the third holographic figure. Blood Fiends aren't human, they are Djinns that vampires create with their blood, right?
-So, what? asks the first holographic figure
- The Grey Lion Order believes that there could be two reasons why the blood fiends could bypass the tower defense system. says the second holographic figure. The first one would be that since Blood Fiends are nothing more than blood, the tower doesn't recognize them as Djinns
- That doesn't make any sense. says the first
- It does. replies the fourth. Blood Fiends do not possess what every other Djinns possesses.
- A core, huh? says the third
- That's right. answers the second. We know that the Tower kills any Djinns that come near it, and we believe that it can tell humans and Djinns apart by the biggest difference between the two. Humans have a heart while monsters have a core. The two work in the same way but they are still two different things
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
- And since Blood Fiends do not possess a core, the tower didn't recognize them as Djinns. says the fourth
- However, it is also possible that instead of creating the Blood Fiends and making them enter the tower... start the second. He could have made his blood enter the tower and then transform it into Blood Fiends
- ENOUGH ABOUT THIS! yells the First. WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO ABOUT THE RESIDENTS OF THE FIRST FLOOR!?
- What are you talking about? asks the third. We can send them back to the first floor. It's not like it was destroyed and the Black Lion Order took care of all the Blood Fiends
- Some of them already used the Stairs to go up to the second floor. says the first. And do you think that they'll feel safe staying in a place that was supposed to be completely safe but was recently broken into?
- Since when do you care about the residents of the lower floors? asks the fourth
- I don't. quickly answer the first. I simply do not want them to sow a seed of panic that could reach the upper floors
- You don't need to worry about them. says the fourth. We've already prepared a separate place where we will keep the survivors on the second floor and after a month or two, we'll send them back to the first floor. If anyone objects to this plan, say it now.
-...
-...
-...
- Let's end today's meeting now. says the fourth. Unfortunately, I have other matters to attend to
The three holographic figures disappear all at once. The fourth figure gets up and heads behind the chair that he was seated on. He walks until he reaches a long rectangular window and stares into it
- Hmmm... makes the fourth
[In the Stairs with Adam, Eve, Seleph, and other survivors from the Bloody Moon Day]
Some people are sleeping on the ground, while others are looking at what's happening outside of the Stairs and in a corner of the room, Adam and Seleph are sitting down in silence while Eve is still unconscious
- What are we going to do now? asks Seleph to Adam. Mother Lyvie is... Mother Lyvie is... he says as his voice cracks. Mother Lyvie and all of the kids are...
- That's... That's a lie, right? suddenly says, Eve
Adam and Seleph both look at her in surprise
- It... What we saw... It was a dream, right? says Eve with a smile full of despair and heartache
Adam quickly gets up
- It wasn't. he says while looking at Eve. It wasn't a dream. Mother Lyvie, Elia, and all the other kids are dead
- ADAM! yells Seleph
Adam turns around and starts walking away
- Where are you going, Adam? asks Seleph after calming down
- I am going back to where I come from. Adam answers after stopping. It was what I was originally going to do after reaching 16
- Are you crazy!? asks Seleph while looking around. Climbing to another floor is impossible if you don't have an access card. Elia told us, remember?
- I can steal one from the guards. says Adam
- And if you get caught doing that, something really bad could happen to you! says Seleph
- I don't care. answers Adam
{Adam}
" I need to go back."
Adam starts remembering something. A voice. The voice of his father alongside some of the last words his father said to him before disappearing.
[Flashback]
Adam's father grabs him by the shoulder and starts shaking him
- Adam, LISTEN TO ME ADAM! says Adam's father. If the first floor ever gets broken into, come back here and head to the mountain behind the house. You must never let anyone find out about what you are going to see there, ok? DO YOU UNDERSTAND, ADAM!? Good... I... I am so sorry, Adam..."
[End Of Flashback]
- ADAM! yells Seleph
Adam flinches and snaps out of it
- We'll go with you. says Seleph while looking at Eve
- What? says Adam surprised
- We can't stay on the first floor now that the orphanage has been destroyed. says Seleph. There's no way to know what could happen to us if we stay here, so we are going with you
- That's not happening. says Adam as he starts to walk again
Seleph puts eve arm around his neck and helps her get up
- If you don't bring us with you, I'll make sure you can't leave here. says Seleph with determination
- Are you serious? asks Adam with anger
-...
- Fine. says Adam with anger
- Do you need help to steal the access card? asks Seleph
Adam takes a card out of his pocket and shows it to Seleph
- How did you-
- It belonged to my father. says Adam while looking at the access card
Adam starts to walk toward the middle of the room where a tall pillar that is connected to six floors of the tower stand
- Where are we going, Adam? asks Seleph who is currently following Adam
- We're going to the place I used to live in with my father and mother. says Adam
- And where is that?
