The Spring Festival is actually not that fun, I always feel like the festive atmosphere is getting weaker and weaker. Perhaps it's because as we grow older, we become more and more dissatisfied. I remember when I was a kid, my mom would buy me a beautiful cheongsam for Chinese New Year, and she'd take me to the hair salon to get my hair done, making me look like a doll. Kids are so easily satisfied - a new outfit is all it takes to make their Chinese New Year wonderful. Nowadays, even if someone were to buy me whatever clothes I wanted, I probably wouldn't have the same excitement as I did back then. So I couldn't help but feel a sense of melancholy - it's not that the festive atmosphere has faded, but rather people's hearts have become more indifferent.
So at home, I was eagerly waiting for school to start, and there was another person who was also looking forward to the start of school - Liu Xin.
It goes without saying that everyone knows why she's looking forward to the start of school. To be honest, sometimes I really want to advise this child, she's too stubborn. I'm really worried that at her age, getting in touch with such a deep love so early will hurt her? She puts in so much effort, if it all ends up being for nothing, I don't even dare imagine what will happen to Liu Xin then. Her best years are all spent on someone who has no hope.
But in that case, she may not necessarily be unaware of it, but rather deceiving herself. Love is actually a matter between two people who are willing to be together, and outsiders have no right to interfere.
That day when school started, I went there relatively early. In the dormitory, only Jintongtong was there, she was lying on the table as if sleeping. I thought it was because she came earlier and was still sleepy at this time, so I didn't go to wake her up either. I quietly packed my things. After a while, Huguoer pushed open the door and came in. She looked at Jintongtong strangely, then looked at me again. I shook my head indicating that I didn't know what was going on.
I was quietly packing things with Hu Guoer when Tao Hao pushed the door open and put the things heavily on the table, shouting: "I'm exhausted!"
I walked over and pinched her arm: "What's with all this stuff?"
Tao Hao pulled out a paper towel from the holder on the table and wiped the sweat off his forehead: "Ugh, don't even mention it. I ran into some annoying guy at the entrance who bumped into me and scattered my stuff all over the place."
Alas, I secretly lamented in my heart, who was so unlucky as to run into a formidable master like Tao Hao.
Didn't you scold him?
Tao raised an eyebrow and said with great momentum: "I don't care about his ancestors, it's all thanks to his mom who educated him so well!"
"Who is it? Do I know you?"
"It seems a bit familiar... " Tao Hao stared at the ceiling for half a day, still unable to recall the person's name. He sighed and said, "Forget it, forget it. I've never been able to remember ordinary people like him."
I helped her take out the sheets, and Tao cleverly climbed onto the bed to take down his own quilt. The two of us worked together seamlessly to put on the clean sheets.
This is a physically demanding task, and after we finished, I was covered in sweat. Tao went to take a shower in the bathroom, and I waited outside, feeling bored. Jin Tongtong remained in the same position, lying there motionless, oblivious to the sounds from outside. Looking at her, it seemed like she was ill, so I walked over and asked: "Tongtong, what's wrong? Are you uncomfortable?"
She lay there shaking her head without making a sound.
This attitude is even more worrying, I put one hand on her back and squatted beside her: "Are you sick? Do you want to get up and take your temperature?"
She suddenly lifted her head, and I could vaguely see tear marks on her face. I was startled and asked hurriedly: "What's wrong?"
Jin Tongtong turned her head and glared at me with a fierce gaze, as if I had killed her entire family. I was bewildered and didn't know what was going on or why she was directing this evil fire at me. Although it was strange, I wasn't afraid and stared back at her, somehow finding the courage to glare at such a beautiful woman...
Just as I was thinking about how long this staring contest would last, Jin Tongtong suddenly smiled, a smile that was somewhat pitiful and also slightly disdainful. She looked at me and said in a not-so-loud voice: "Liu Jia, are you satisfied?"
I frowned at her: "What did you say?"
"He wants to break up with me." Jin Tongtong said, tears streaming down her face, but her expression was so ruthless. "You finally got what you wanted, he left me, this is great......Liu Jia, you're really something."
"What are you talking about?" I finally found a clue "You're pushing everything about you and Du Bin onto me!"
Tao Hao walked out of the bathroom with a towel at this time, saw me and Jintongtong's appearance, and asked suspiciously: "Are you two quarreling?"
I was suddenly covered in cold sweat, and all I could think was that Tao Hua was the only one who could be both brilliant and idiotic at the same time, making people admire him when he's clever and speechless when he's foolish.
Jin Tongtong turned her head away, not looking at me. Her perfect profile had a cold and detached meaning. I didn't know what to say at that moment, from start to finish, I felt she was being overly sensitive, such harsh words I couldn't bring myself to say, I thought she was still so young, even if she fell or stumbled, as long as she could learn something, I had said before, love is actually a mutual agreement, for an outsider like me, it's better not to intervene.
Not to mention Jin Tongtong is actually terrifyingly stubborn.
But there are some words that need to be said to express my personal attitude.
I stood up, looking at her lightly: "Jin Tongtong, the things between you and Du Bin are none of my business. I just want to tell you that I'm a person who has never coveted something that doesn't belong to me. You think he's good, but not everyone in the world thinks so. Is this kind of anxiety and loss really love?"
"Liujia... you understand, you've always understood everything." She narrowed her eyes at me "He values you so much, why have you been pretending not to know? Do you think I'm ridiculous, foolishly clinging to my already failed love?"
I was speechless, and I couldn't have imagined that the normally quiet Jintong would erupt with so many evil thoughts. She must have been furious and lost her composure, fortunately, I'm rational and could only remain silent, after all, we're dorm-mates, can't avoid each other
It's bad for everyone if things get awkward.
But apparently there is one person who doesn't know this principle...
She walked over, her hair still dripping with water, a smile on her face, but what she said was: "Wow, you're so fresh. You can't even take care of your own husband and yet you blame our Liu Jia for being seductive? What's that saying... Isn't this like trying to pull shit out of the earth because it has no gravitational pull?"
To say that the few of us have mouths that are not as sharp as Tao's, Jin Tongtong gave Tao a cold glance, and her gaze was terrifying. But Tao wasn't someone to be trifled with either, in my opinion, judging by the lethal power of his gaze, Tao was absolutely victorious!
"If I were you, I'd be too ashamed to say this out loud. How can you be so shameless? Ah, Jin Tongtong, I'm really puzzled, how can your face be so cheap? Can't you just say no and mean it? Our Liu Jia has a good temper, but don't bully her. In the past, we gave Du Bin face, but now that dog has been abandoned, we have nothing to worry about. You can go ahead and hate me all you want, what's the worst that could happen? Can you even find another boyfriend who's a department head?
Tao looked at Jin Tongtong with disdain: "Even if you do have a standard mistress face, not everyone can be your mistress, okay?"
The room fell silent in an instant.
I walked up to Tao Hao and said casually: "This set of dog-beating stick method has been practiced by you to the point of being out of this world."
Tao smiled complacently: "Not bad, not bad. At least the dog didn't bark. Let's go... I'm in a good mood today, so I'll treat you to dinner."
The two of us walked out of the dorm room one after another. Tao slammed the door behind her, still fuming with anger. I looked at her and smiled: "This mouth of yours..."
"You're not much better than me either."
"We should really go perform a crosstalk show, I'll be the straight man and you can be the funny one. We'll definitely become famous."
She leaned in, speaking seriously: "However, Jiajia, let's get back to the topic. You see, Jin Tongtong that little girl, even after I said those things to her, she didn't cry. A normal person would have already wiped away tears by now. This girl is not simple, you'd better be on your guard."
I shrugged and spread my hands: "Alas, I'm too beautiful, can't defend against it."
"Get out!"
