Chapter 36: His and Her Past (6)

"Water, water..." Gu Yu Sheng's low and unclear muttering suddenly pulled Qin Zhi Ai back from her memories.

Perhaps it was the passage of time that made her seem a bit dazed, and she stared blankly for a moment before suddenly realizing what the words murmured by Gu Yu Sheng meant.

She quickly sat up from the bedside, took a glass of water beside her, hurried downstairs and poured a cup of warm water.

After serving the drunk and confused Gu Yu Sheng a glass of water, Qin Zhi Ai covered him with a quilt and gazed at his face for a moment before getting up and walking over to the sofa. She sat down with a pillow in her arms and pulled out her phone to check the time.

It's already past 3:00 in the morning.

She just sat there alone, lost in thought for over two hours, reminiscing about their past times together.

  Yes, again.

Over the years, she couldn't remember how many times it happened that when she was alone, a sentence, something, or a scene would suddenly remind her of him, and then she would be like a lost soul, immersed in memories, unable to extricate herself.

He and her world, are too far apart, so far that he and she can't have any intersection at all, so she can only rely on constantly recalling the past days of him and her, to tell herself, the man she loves, has really been in her world.

She didn't love those bygone days so much, she loved him in those bygone days.

  ……

At 4 am, Qin Zhi'ai went to the bedside again and looked at Gu Yu Sheng. His intoxication had dissipated a lot, and he was sleeping soundly.

He vomited before going to bed and almost emptied his stomach. After waking up, he thought that his stomach must be very uncomfortable.

The housekeeper will come in a few hours, and by the time the porridge is cooked, he will probably be awake already.

Qin Zhi Ai thought for a moment and quietly went downstairs.

The ingredients in the refrigerator were well-prepared by the housekeeper. Qin Zhi picked some vegetables and lean meat, chopped them up, put them into a clay pot, first boiled over high heat, then adjusted to low heat, slowly simmering.

When the vegetable and lean meat porridge was cooked, the sky outside the window had already brightened.

Qin Zhi Ai knew that Gu Yu Sheng didn't like to see her, and was also afraid that he would suddenly wake up and see her bare face. She turned off the fire, kept the porridge warm, and hastily returned upstairs to change her clothes. Then she hurriedly went downstairs again, rushing towards the door.

Qin Zhi'ai had just stepped out of the door and was about to call the housekeeper when she saw him walking into the courtyard.

Qin Zhi Ai hastily turned around, her back to Guan Jia, quickly pulled out a mask and sunglasses from her bag and put them on before turning back to face Guan Jia.

Before Qin Zhi'ai returned, she didn't notify the housekeeper in advance. The housekeeper was very surprised to see her: "Miss, you're back?"

"Uh-huh." Qin Zhi'ai nodded slightly, paused for a moment, and then said what she had originally wanted to tell the housekeeper over the phone: "He's at home, drunk, and hasn't woken up yet. I've cooked congee, and when he wakes up, remember to give it to him."
