Elio stared with his eyes cold and no emotions on his face. “The Resistance doesn't ring a bell.” Elio got up, put down some mudras for the coffee. “Doing some evil endeavours and calling yourselves with a fancy name, you guys really need to grow up.”
The man got closer and pushed Elio back to his seat. “Yes, the Resistance. We have no boundaries, we are free to live and kill delinquents like you.”
Elio now fully concentrated on the man, but still was able to hear whatever was going on near the counter. Elio’s heartbeat fastened, he could hear his heartbeat. The man closer to him seemed strong and kept on talking about the resistance.
“Put the mudras in the bag, do you really want to die you sh*t?” The woman screamed.
The man put his hands on Elio’s shoulder, his grip firm. “He is using all his strength to keep me at my place.” Elio’s mind started to fill with thoughts.
“The Resistance will eat you out, don’t even try to do anything stupid.” The man screamed as he reached for his sword.
For a moment Elio was not able to do anything, all he could hear was his mind trying to make a decision.
Elio’s pupil widened. He could feel the adrenaline rushing through his veins. “This doesn’t concern me. I don’t even come to this cafe. Why even try and soil my hands? What good will come from it? I should just stay where I am.”
Elio started breathing heavily, his nervousness was clearly visible. “I don’t even know that girl. I should just go with the flow, let them take some mudras.” Elio clenched his fists, his palms were sweaty.
“Why is it getting cold here? No, I am just nervous.” Elio started tapping his feet in a very rhythmic manner.
Suddenly, some memories from the past flooded his mind. “Am I playing it safe? Am I scared?” The incident where his family was slaughtered echoed in his head. “What? No, this doesn’t even relate to that. This is just a robbery”
Just then Elio heard a voice. “Stop giving yourself a reason to be a coward!”
The voice snapped Elio out from his hesitancy. Elio’s breathing slowed down. “What was I thinking?” Elio now more composed, “Hell with this.”
He used his right hand, struck down the elbow of the man. The man’s hand bent from the elbow. The man got unbalanced as he started tripping.
Elio smiled watching the man shaky. “Should have kept a proper posture.” Elio bashed his knee on the ribs of the man.
The man groaned as he spat. “Now, your face is completely vulnerable.” Elio watched the man’s undefended face. Elio held his sword. “This might hurt,” he used the handle of his sword to hit the man’s chin.
“Aaagh”
The man was pushed a few metres. The strike forced out blood from his mouth. Elio could spot the man’s pale yellow teeth flying out from his mouth.
Elio got up, “you need to learn, to protect your vital points. Like this one!”
He took a proper stance– jumped, rotating his body with proper speed and precision. He thrusted his leg, with strength and control “Resist this!” He screamed, the roundhouse kick landed.
A critical hit, straight to the diaphragm. The man choked for air. He rammed through the tables and collided against the cafe wall.

“Crashhh..”
The sound echoed in the cafe. Both members of the Resistance turned towards the sound. “What is going on?” There was no one. Their associate was knocked out against the wall. Foam coming out from his mouth. “That brat!” The man near the counter screamed.
Just then a chair came flying towards the man. “You need to do better than this.” The man cut through the chair with ease.
Just then Elio came sliding, and striking down the man’s legs. The man who was in a very unstable position after using his weapons. The man flew above the ground, a few metres. He tripped and started falling on the ground.
Just then, the woman charged up her hand. “He is fast. I was not even able to sense his magic. But, now he’s going to die for sure.” The woman thought as she aimed towards Elio.
“Die you brat!” The woman screamed.

The coffee girl behind the counter was getting nervous and a bit hesitant. “They are going to take all the mudras.” She took the bag and started filling it up. “Raven, you're going to lose this job as well.”
“They even destroyed this machine, what’ll I say to the manager?” Raven’s mind was full with thoughts of getting fired, she was calm about the situation.
“What was that sound?” Raven got up with her hands full with the bag of mudras. “So, that boy was not weak. I never sensed his magic though.”
Raven got dizzy as she saw more of the furniture destroyed. “I am going to kill that guy!” Raven clenched her fists, she can now really see herself getting fired.
“What the actual f*ck?” A chair came flying, the man sliced the chair in half.
Raven got a clear view of Elio, as he slid and tripped the man in front of him. The woman next to her charged up her spell.
“Really they are from the Resistance, she’s using such a weak spell. I thought they would be stronger.” Raven looked at the bag in her hand, which was half filled and got somewhat heavy from all the coins.
“Hey girl! Here are your mudras.” Raven bashed the half filled bag straight to the woman’s head. The impact made the woman lose her aim as she shot the spell towards the ceiling.
“Booom!”
“And there goes my job.” Raven sighed.

The man fell on the ground with his face flat. Elio, who was now safe from the spell of the woman, got up on his feet.
Elio wanted to seize this moment. He quickly punched the woman straight to her gut. The woman who held her head as she felt concussed. Elio’s punch made her bent forward, this startled her.
“I can see a clear hit.” Elio held the woman’s head and started pushing it down. “This is going to get messy.” He bashed his knee straight to the woman’s face.
Elio’s knee collided straight to the woman’s nose. She started bleeding like a faucet – her eyes moved up, and passed out before she fell on the ground.
“Crashh..”
The man got up on his feet, rubbing his face. “Brat! I’ll kill you.” The man leaped towards Elio with his twin-daggers.
Elio had his back turned against the man. “Damn, I totally forgot about him. I made myself an easy target.” He tried to turn, but it was too late. “From this distance, I’ll get heavily injured, even death is possible.”
“Thrash..”
Raven again with her bag of mudras pounced on the man’s face. The strike landed straight on his face. This gave Elio an opening.
“This girl is something.” Elio rushed towards the man, he balanced himself on one leg. He turned and kicked the man straight under his chin.
The man flew a distance before falling and crashing on a table.
“That’s three” Elio smiled looking at all the members of the Resistance knocked out. “What is this feeling? I did something good today, didn't I?” Elio sighed, patting dust from his clothes. “I am not a coward.”
Raven poured a cup of coffee for herself. “I am so fired.” She looked at Elio smiling. “I should just resign, but first I’ll eat all these cookies.”
“Hey, want another round of coffee?” – Raven asked Elio. “Don’t worry it’s on the house.”
Elio with a bright smile. “Sure, if it’s free.” He reached for the cup of coffee.
Raven got up on the counter– her legs hanging and a coffee mug in her hands. “And, yes, sorry for not giving a complimentary cookie earlier.” She looked at the whole jar of cookies. “Have as much as you want, I would suggest the butterscotch one.”
Elio buried his hands in the jar and got a bunch of cookies. He put most of them in his pockets. “It’s okay, I forgive you.” Elio took a sip from his coffee.
Raven removed her mask and cap and threw it on the floor. Elio couldn't help himself from staring at her.
Two small horns were present on her head. Her face was small but sharp– her short black hair dropped down on her forehead. Her lips touched the coffee mug as she slowly took a small sip from it. Her teeth were very sharp, it feels like all of them are canines.
“Less staring more drinking.” She caught Elio off guard staring at her.
He quickly looked away, gulped down his hot coffee and walked straight towards the exit.
He regretted his decision as his throat burned now. “Damn, that coffee was really hot. I want some water now, keep walking straight, don't make a fool of yourself here.”
“Stay safe, I will not be present everywhere for assistance.” Raven said with a smile on her face. He raised his arms, and put out a thumbs-up for Raven as he walked out of the cafe.
“Oh! I forgot to ask for his name.” Raven thought while drinking her coffee. “Well this will not be our last encounter.” She jumped off the counter. “Come on! Time to find another job.”
All three members of the Resistance lie there unconscious.
She walked out of the building, with a butterscotch cookie in her hand.
