Chapter 6: The Auction

  ?

That night, the two of them sat by the lake until the east began to light up like a fish belly, and then they reluctantly said their goodbyes and returned to their rooms to rest.

When the sun rose to a pole high, and it was the beginning of a new day, Li Hui walked out of his bedroom, although he didn't sleep all night, but still looked spirited.

Just saw Han Xue walking out of the bathroom, after a simple dressing up, Han Xue looked even more lovely and charming.

"Xue Er, you're so beautiful!" Li Hui said, staring at the jade-like person in front of him, without any reserve.

Han Xuejiao laughed and said: "Silly!"

Li Hui chuckled and took hold of Han Xue's slender wrist: "Xiao Xue, let's go."

The two of them walked out of the mansion together, activated the seal on the gate, and Li Hui took out the Wind Breaking Arrow. Together, they stepped onto it and transformed into a white light, leaving Mingxia Mountain and flying towards the direction of the Divine Workshop.

The two didn't rush, they just flew at half the speed of the Breaking Wind Dart, and it wasn't until half a time later that they arrived at the district where the Divine Workshop was located.

After finding an inn and settling Han Xue in a room, Li Hui went alone to the Divine Workshop.

Changshan, the young apprentice, came forward to greet him, and still remembered Li Hui, respectfully saying: "Mu Qianbei, welcome back to Shen Gongfang."

"Haha, Mu Dao friend, you've finally arrived!" The shopkeeper Sun was also in the hall and saw Li Hui smiling as he came forward to greet him.

Li Hui nodded calmly: "Sun Zhanggui, I don't know if that precious garment I left here last time has been repaired?"

"Haha, of course it's already fixed. Changshan, go get that precious robe from Mu Dao!" Sun Zhanggui ordered.

Changshan, the little servant, quickly ran to the back and soon came running over with a delicate wooden box in his hands: "Master Mu, this is your treasured garment. Please take a look."

Li Hui took the wooden box and opened it, inside was indeed the Qian Huan Bao Yi, as soon as he touched it, he could feel the subtle fluctuations of spiritual energy within, with a flick of his wrist, the original damaged areas were restored to their original state, exactly the same as before, without any signs of damage.

"Lu Dashi is indeed skilled!" Li Hui couldn't help but praise. As for this precious garment, he also had a try-and-see attitude, and didn't expect it to actually be repaired successfully.

"Haha, as long as you can enter the wooden path with your friend's eyes." Sun Zhanggui laughed and immediately became serious: "Is Wooden Dao You interested in taking a look at the upcoming auction?"

Li Hui's face remained expressionless as he said calmly, "Since you're here, it wouldn't hurt to take a look around. Who knows, you might just find something that Mu needs."

"Haha, alright then, good luck Brother Mu! Changshan, take Brother Mu to the back!" Sun Zhanggui's face lit up with a smile.

"Mr. Mu, this way, please!" Changshan called out.

Li Hui nodded and immediately put away the Qian Huan Bao Yi, following behind Chang Shan as they walked further inside.

After passing through a corridor, Changshan led Li Hui into a spacious room. A rather charming maid came forward: "Welcome, sir. Are you here to attend the auction?" Her voice was quite alluring.

Li Hui nodded calmly and seemed to ignore the maid's beauty.

"Would you please show me your invitation jade card for attending the auction?" The maid said respectfully.

Li Hui handed over the jade token that Sun Zhanggui had given him, and immediately the maid took it and turned to take out a folded black robe from the hidden compartment inside. She held it with both hands and handed it over: "Senior, this cloak can conceal your appearance and isolate the spiritual exploration of Golden Elixir cultivators. In order to keep your identity confidential, please put it on."

Li Hui's heart moved, and he curiously swept his spiritual sense over the cloak, but it was indeed impenetrable. He reached out to take it, shook it out, and put it on, instantly wrapping himself from head to toe in a tight, black shroud that even covered his face with a layer of black gauze.

"Come this way, senior!" Changshan beckoned and led Li Hui forward, passing through a doorway and entering a long corridor.

Changshan stopped in his tracks: "Senior, junior can only lead senior to here, senior will continue to walk forward and enter that door, naturally there will be someone to receive senior."

Li Hui nodded, but his face was hidden in the hood and no expression could be seen, he walked forward alone.

After passing through another door, Li Hui entered a exceptionally spacious great hall, the hall was filled with over three hundred monks dressed in cloaks like him.

Li Hui tried to extend his spiritual sense for a sweep, but found that as soon as his spiritual sense touched someone else's cloak, it was like hitting an extremely solid wall and could no longer move forward.

He withdrew his spiritual sense, and Li Hui felt a few points of satisfaction in his heart. It seemed that the effect of this cloak was indeed not inferior to what the maid had said. His gaze swept across, and after finding an empty seat, he walked over and sat down with big strides.

The room was filled with monks attending the auction, all dressed alike, no one could tell who was who, and no one spoke, they just sat solemnly, the atmosphere was slightly depressing.

Occasionally, similarly dressed monks walked in, but no one gave them a second glance, each sitting quietly at their own seat waiting.

About an hour later, no new monks joined in. After another quarter of an hour, a door at the other end of the hall opened and a beautiful maid walked in: "I'm sorry to keep you waiting, please follow me." She then turned around and led the way.

All the masters in the hall stood up and followed the maid out of the door.

Out of this large hall, there is a long corridor again. At the end of the corridor, there is a narrow door. In front of the narrow door, a black box is placed.

"Please, seniors, one by one, pass through here and randomly draw a numbered identity plate from this box. For the next three days, the plate will represent your identity. After the auction ends, you will naturally return to your original identity, with no further connection to the identity used during the auction," the maid explained.

Li Hui's heart skipped a beat. This auction at the Divine Workshop was indeed shrouded in mystery, but this method of secrecy was also quite good.

One by one, the monks attending the auction walked past, drew a number plate from the box and entered the door.

Li Hui also walked in after randomly drawing a number plate.

Upon entering, there was another incredibly large and spacious building, several times larger than the grand hall I had been in before.

Behind every ten feet, a seat is set up, and a square table is placed beside each seat, with tea water and other items on the table, and each seat has a number engraved on it.

In front was a platform about ten feet high and thirty feet wide, on which stood a huge stone table, presumably for placing auction items.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats according to the number on the card you drew," the maid called out.

Li Hui took a look at his own number plate, two hundred and thirty-one, and immediately found the corresponding seat with a sweep of his spiritual consciousness and walked over to sit down.

The other masters also took their seats.

"Next, seniors who have treasures to be auctioned off, please follow me." The maid standing in front of the stage called out.

After a while, more than ten people slowly got up.

The first point of consigning treasures is to go through the appraisal and certification of the Divine Workshop. Only those treasures recognized by the Divine Workshop are eligible to appear at the auction, and most of the cultivators who come here are thinking that they can find one or two treasures they need, with very few consigning items for sale.

Li Hui hesitated for a moment before standing up, and followed the maid with the dozen or so people from earlier through a side door, entering a long and narrow great hall.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please wait for a moment." The maid ushered everyone to sit on the long seats in the hall before leaving.

A moment later, three young servants came out and invited the three mendicant monks sitting in front to enter.

After a few cups of tea, the three monks came out, shrouded in black hoods, and naturally couldn't see any changes in their expressions, still sitting in their original positions.

It was Li Hui's turn after several rounds.

As one of the young servants entered, he came into a spacious room where an old man in brocade robes sat at a stone table with a dignified air.

"Golden Elixir Period Master!" As soon as he entered, Li Hui immediately felt the powerful aura emanating from the old man in brocade.

The old man had a cup of spiritual tea by his side, and after taking a light sip, he opened his mouth faintly: "Fellow Taoist, please sit down. I don't know what you want to send."

The old man naturally couldn't see through Li Hui's true cultivation through his cloak, so he generally addressed him as a fellow Taoist.

Li Hui didn't sit down, instead he looked around the room and nodded to himself. With a wave of his hand, a white light flashed by, and a more than ten zhang long emerald green armor appeared on the floor, almost connecting the two ends of the house.

" Fellow Taoist, take a look at this dragon's scales and see if they're worthy of being auctioned off?" Li Hui said in a hoarse and rough voice.

The old man in brocade changed color slightly and immediately bent down to carefully examine the dragon scales.

"It's actually the complete scale armor that Bi Shui Jiao shed when it advanced from level 4 to level 5!" The old man in brocade also said with some shock.

  Li Hui remained silent.

The old man in the brocade robe furrowed his brow, but his mind was racing: "This Bixi Jiao is at least a Golden Elixir period demon beast, and its strength is formidable. Only by entering the Bixi Jiao's cave can one possibly obtain the shed scales of this Bixi Jiao. It seems that this guest is also a Golden Elixir period cultivator with considerable strength."

The old man in the brocade robe quickly regained his composure, but with a hint of politeness, said: "This Bixi Jiaolong armor naturally qualifies for auction, please show me your token, and I will register it."

Li Hui naturally sensed the old man's change in attitude, but remained silent and handed over the token.

The old man in the brocade robe took over the sign and scanned it, then handed it back to Li Hui. He immediately took out a jade slip and quickly printed something on it. After that, he handed it to Li Hui: "Fellow Taoist can take this jade slip to receive the proceeds of the auction after the auction is over. Of course, our store will charge a fee of 2%. If it is not successfully auctioned off, Fellow Taoist can choose to take the item back or have our store give you an offer. What do you think?"

Li Hui's spiritual awareness probed into the jade slip and scanned it briefly. Inside, it recorded information such as the bidder's number and the items being auctioned.

"Whatever, I have no opinion." Li Hui withdrew his spiritual consciousness from the jade slip and replied in a hoarse voice, then turned around and left.
