Chapter 1: Personal space ?

  Endless Invasion! Earthlings are incredible!

  Chapter 1: Personal space!

  “Welcome to the Endless Invasion!”

  “A legitimate game for supremacy!”

“All participants will obtain a personal space and a Unit Generator to help harvest resources and accumulate power!”

“In the vast world, home to many nightmare beasts, are countless opportunities and neverending challenges!”

“As the Lords of Invasion, you will lead your armies and survive to become the best!”

Just a moment of trembling …

“Truth… You will have the possibility to know when you will have reached the end line.”

  ***

In a random personal space …

  Su Bei opened his eyes.

He found himself in an empty space.

Stunned. The ground was luminous, it wasn’t sloping but flat. He lifted his finger but didn’t feel the wind. Su Bei immediately thought that this space was supernatural!

Like a dream, a man was reflected on the surface of the light. Su Bei checked his cheek, and the man did the same. Is it really him?

  Black hair, brown eyes.

He unconsciously touched the reflecting light, but his expression became a simple ripple. Su Bei simply ignored him.

He was more concerned about where this place was and whether it was real or not.

Thinking about it, he started to walk.

What did he do before coming here?

Scratching his hair, he remembers coming home to cook a meal for his sister, but opening the eyes, he was standing here.

More distant memories had become blurred. Except for his sister, he didn’t know his mother and father’s name. As for his friend, he still had certain ideas about them.

Su Bei continued to walk, but he felt buried in a desert, no movement, no progression.

When humans move, they locate themselves by fixating on a specific point. This allows them to trace a distance between the object and themselves, giving the sensation of moving forward. It’s the difference between a desert and an environment such as a forest.

Fortunately, there was a slight undulation as he walked. It saved him from going mad.

“Endless invasion, personal space, lords, unit generator, opportunities and challenges …” Numerous unknown notions.

First impression, it sounds like a mobile game.

Endless invasion as a tower defense? It’s like a player with these towers and defenses. As for opportunities and challenges, these are the monster’s waves and loots.

Thinking that, his reasoning seems credible.

Thanks to its many hours of playtime. When he had just graduated from university and has a full-time job in a library, it’s mobile game which saved him from boredom.

Su Bei remembered those days and smiled, but the same feminine voice sounded in his mind again.

  “Lords of Endless Invasion!”

“From this moment, you will have seven days to prepare your personal space!”

“During this preparation period, your personal space becomes operational!”

“Seven days later, the preparation period will end, and your personal space will face the first enemy invasion!”

“A nightmare beast tide will invade all territories of the Lord of Endless Invasion! If the core of personal space is destroyed by the nightmare beast tide, you will die!”

Su Bei looked up and saw a giant portal appear beside him. An indescribable sensation emanated from the huge portal.

  “Portals of Invasion are installed!”

  For the last words …

  “Lords! Prepare your personal space!!”

Su Bei shudders as he imagines the future, if he took no action. He trembled.

Now that danger was pinning him against the wall, and he had a goal, he had to survive until he found the reason for his presence.

He clenches his fist in resolution.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

But a robotic voice startled him.

  [ …Master?]

  “Nah…?”

He came to his senses and responded.

  [Starting the simulacrum]

Before he could reply, an immense pain covered it like needles.

  “Ah,ha,ha-”

Su Bei convulsed but held on to her consciousness by following his instincts. If he became unconscious, he would die!

  Several minutes have passed.

  “...Is it finish?”

  [Transplant failed]

  [Assistance mode on]

  “System?”

  [...]

  “Bastard …?!”

  Su Bei was enraged!

He was on the verge of death, but he remained silent ? He has a death wish!

  [Relax. You’re not dead]

  “For now!”

He replied. Su Bei could no longer keep up with the events that followed. But he still asked the most important question.

  “Responds seriously. Who are you?”

System is not like that. It’s just pretentious?

[I’m the simulacrum. An independent system to help you for survive in this reality]

  Survive?

“Ahah … Really? You? One who tried to steal and remove my mind? No, is it a controlled mind? And you talk about surviving?”

  [...Is it not the problem.]

When it looks like I’m going to move, the system starts to explain the main reason.

[ ...I have a program integrated into me. So, the first action was to control the host. No emotions inside. I’d like you to do the same.]

Su Bei laughed but not his mouth.

He explains that it is not his fault? But even if it's true, he was still angry.

“Really? What is the reason I have to save you? And don’t try to lie.”

He presses the slight energy in the body and the simulacrum becomes quiet. Since the system failed to take over his body, he can feel a strange sensation inside him.

  He knew that I knew.

  [I can help you.]

  The voice trembled.

[I can calculate the best way. Choose the best simulation to follow.]

As proof, several windows have been opened.

  [Simulacrum Assistance]

  [Launch a simulation]

  [Start a calculation]

  [Gathering informations]

There were four options. Simulacrum had sent their usefullness directly into his brain. He was a bit shocked and stayed silent for one minute.

Simulacrum assistance, as the name suggest, was an automatic support. It was simply manifesting the system, but it was already in assistance mode. So it simply ignored it.

By rotating the simulation several times in his head, Su Bei believes that this is the main function of the simulacrum.

He could choose parameters and loop through possible futures, then find a path that seemed to suit him.

Launching the calculation allowed you to calculate the chance of an event occuring. Like calculating the probability of a genius being born.

The final feature was to gather all the world's data so that you could keep on top of all the shenanigans. Useful for finding out about certain plots.

As he could get inside his head, Su Bei became suspicious.

[I can just transfer data to your brain]

[But for the moment, I’m weak.]

In conclusion, this machine could help him through this event. He's stuck with him, so he won't hurt him.

  “Ok, I agree.”

He needed to know what his unit was. But where could he find it?

  [The response was behind you.]

Su Bei turns back. Soon, he saw a building rising from the ground. In the center of the building, there stood a luminous core which released a blue energy.

Beside the luminous core stood an operational panel which blinked periodically.

The luminous core must be the central core of personal space. This small stone decides whether he died or lived …

[I detect an unknown energy into the core]

  “An unknown energy?”

Su Bei became curious. There is energy here?

[Energy is everywhere. Even this space is not spare. It’s not mana as such, but rather an energy that supports this space. However, my current computing power is not sufficient to reach any conclusion.]

  “What do you need?”

[Host is pretty impatient …You’ll know when you see the menu in front of you …]

Su Bei asked no more questions and approached the operating panel. He instinctively felt that this operating panel decides his next actions.

When he placed his eyes on it, several texts were displayed on several interfaces.

  ===

  [Menu]

  [Core Evolution]

  [Worldwide Chat Forum]

  [Universal Trading Channel]

  [Unit Generator]

  [Ranking]

  ===

At first glance, Su Bei was rather surprised.

“Many options …” Su Bei clicked on Core Evolution and another interface opened up.

[Welcome to the new Lord’s Endless Invasion!]

[Here …You can edit your personal space in every way possible! Need some grass? Do it! Need some food? Make animals appear! You can create an environment conducive to your main race and natural obstacles to help you to kill the nightmare beasts!]

  Su Bei nodded.

He has already got some ideas.

“What are the main features for beginners?”

“For example, can I create a planet?”

Su Bei glanced around him, there was just an empty space filled with light beneath his feet.

[Refused. You need more crystals, energy stones and gems]

So, the main resources here are energy stones, brilliant crystals and gems?

  “What’s my current budget?”

  ===

  [0 gems]

  [10 crystals]

  [1 000 energy stones]

  ===

  That’s …a lot? System?

[It’s enough to get you started. As a guide, one gem is equivalent to 100 crystals, and one crystal is equivalent to 100 energy stones]

As the system indicated, he could buy fertile land, food and other useful things.

Su Bei thought and pushed the interface aside. He decided to wait, he still had six days left.

He opened the [Ranking], but all the places were empty. As we were in the preparation period, there was still no definite ranking.

Finally, he opened the [Worldwide Chat Forum]. Su Bei had expectations that since a Chat Forum existed, there could have been many lords like him.

Have all Earthlings been teleported to this space ? Su Bei was afraid of being alone, afraid of being the only one affected by this supernatural event.

He hesitated for a long moment, then clicked on it. Several pop-up windows appeared.

  ===

  [Worldwide Chat Forum]

[Notifications: Millions of Lords are gathered on this channel. Any undesirable interactions will be punished by the automatic system]

[Lord’s Endless Invasion? What is this shit?!]

  [Guys…? It's a real, n-nightmare beast?]

[F*ck?! I don’t want to fight here! Stop this bad joke now! Dad? Mom?!]

[Calm down everyone. I think it’s a supernatural event like dimensional teleportation.]

[Lol, funny. Did the Magic Tower have any problems?]

[I remember manipulating a machine and then waking up here.]

[Is this heaven? No… the hell?]

[I am the son of Kirn’s Empire, let me go!]

[Elves, assemble quickly! I created a private channel with the princess, come send me a private message! I invite you]

  [Ah! Elves? F*cking B*stard!]

  *Message deleted*

  [Dwarf? Piece of -!]

Su Bei brought up the conversation and many discussions were pointless. He ignored the useless messages and read some that had caught his eyes.

[I have created a cave around the portal. It works really well! We can restrict nightmare beasts with the environments!]

[How do you know? We still can’t fight nightmare beasts?]

[You can integrate nightmare beast with crystal! But the rewards are small]

  “Simulacrum, it’s true?”

  [...Yes, approximately 80%]

Su Bei nodded and continued to read.

Suddenly, a message caught his eyes.

[People must be confused right now. Please let me help you. At present, base points are our only available resources. We need to divide our resources into defense, food and environment. I come from a noble house and I have precious information about it. You can buy more information by sending me 50 points privately. My name code is TheTrueOwl]
