What is Romantically Apocalyptic exactly? It's a series of novels that contains over 1.5 million words and more than FIVE THOUSAND illustrations [made from 2005-2025].

  While some elements of romance can be found in my stories, that's not the primary focus.

  I came up with "Romantically Apocalyptic" as a concept in May of 2005 when I made this digital painting:

  The term 'Romantic' in Romantically Apocalyptic refers to Romanticism, an artistic movement that originated in late 18th century Europe. This movement prioritized emotion and individualism and was a reaction to the Industrial Revolution and the rational, scientific view of nature that was prevalent during the Age of Enlightenment. Artists of the Romantic era often depicted nature as a beautiful, wild, unpredictable and catastrophically malevolent force.

  In my writing and art "Romanticism" represents the beauty of human struggle against the unknown, fantastic, bewildering and strange forces which are all the result of the Singularity and its effects on the world.
