Chapter 15

It was about a week after Saturn and Samantha went on a date that Saturn had something slightly odd for him.

" What are you talking about bud? "

" Well you have already completed your objective have you not. What else do you have to offer? "

Saturn felt bad seeing the message from the system. After all he had what was basically a personal shop that could let him become someone who stands at the top of the human race. The system was also clearly sentient which made Saturn feel kind of bad for ingnoring him.

" Alright, show me the shop, you were talking about skills. "

" Explain Perfect Luthier and Magical Luthier, also why are some locked? "

" Meaning Magic exists and I can use it? "

" Well damn, then buy the Perfect Luthier and Magic Luthier skills. Can I buy some martial art books? "

" Then buy the Luthier Talent skill and buy two or three martial arts books that will give my bodies the best benefits. "

" Nice, then shall I meet up with Dante? I'm kind of eager to start learning to be a luthier. "

  " Damn, snappy much. "

The system didn't respond to Saturn's sarcasm. Since it didn't Saturn decided to get on his way to Dante's where he had plans with the old man to start learning to be a luthier.

Saturn could of started sooner, but Dante had given him six books on the basics of woodworking and luthier work. Saturn seemed to be not half bad at the little amount of woodworking he had done but there were some parts he had had trouble with. So he decided to test out his new Luthier talent skill.

Not only could he read the book in record time for him, he also absorbed everything. He had even done it while doing pushups. While he was reading Saturn suddenly thought of something.

" Hey system, since I bought Luthier talent does that mean I can buy martial arts talent? "

  " Woo, that's awesome, I'll be fucking rich. "

Saturn pumped by his new knowledge got pumped up and started on his daily run. He decided to increase his running distance to be three miles since running would be a vital part of training his martial arts. He also really wanted to show Samantha up who had been really smug about running further than her boyfriend.

Saturn knew that if he wanted to unlock body cultivation he would have to tap into the true potential of humans.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Saturn had always been of the mind that humans had no limit, they could always go above and beyond. Didn't matter if you were fat, skinny, old, young, you could always improve. All one would have to do was out in the work.

And that was what Saturn was going to do.

By the time his three mile run was over Saturn was drenched head to toe in sweat. Saturn was usually not someone who sweat much, but long distance running wasn't his forte.

When he got back into his house he downed a glass of milk and a glass of water before starting onto his curls and bench presses. He did 100 curls with his forty pounder and did 120 on the bench press with 110 pounds. He of course didn't do them all at once. For his curls he did 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, 5, each arm of course.

For his bench presses he did 40, 30, 20, 10, 10, 5, 5. In the end he was so tired he felt he would die, but he still cooked himself some eggs and steak along with another glass of milk and another glass of water.

The reason Saturn drank so much milk was because he always felt that his muscles could take his workouts but his bones couldn't. He had no way of solving such a problem while in jail, but once he was released he could drink a lot of milk to solve the problem.

After he ate his meal Saturn relaxed for thirty minutes before he showered and hopped in his car to go to Dante's.

Once he reached Dante's workshop which was in the back of his store Saturn sat and watched his Luthier teacher work on a guitar face. He was building what he said would be a fairly basic acoustic guitar, but it was of course only simple for him. To Saturn it would be a very advanced guitar that he would have to practice for years to build, least before his Luthier Talent skill.

" So now that I have gotten to this point what should I do? "

" I have no idea, I don't remember this topic being addressed in the books you gave me. "

" Good, I was testing you. I'd rather have a humble student who asks questions, than an arrogant student who just dives in. Of course sometimes you will have to dive in head first and solve problems that can't be solved with anything other than experience. That would apply to any job or skill though. "

Saturn intently listened to Dante's words. Saturn had always thought that elders could teach you something, that was one of the reasons that Saturn would give every elder he met a certain level of respect.

After he finished talking Dante got back to work on the guitar face. Saturn sat waiting intently for Dante to tell him the next step, but the old man never talked. Eventually Saturn had to ask.

  " Then what's the next step. "

" . . . . The next step is that I work on the rest of the guitar. "

  " . . . . . . . "

Saturn thought that the experienced expert would have some secret method or technique that he would use on the thin piece of wood. He never would have guessed that Dante would just get to work on the other parts of the guitar.

Dante first grabbed a plank of wood that was the same species of the face of the guitar. The old man then grabbed a hand plane and started shaving away at the plank making it thinner and thinner. Once he felt that it was sufficiently thin he grabbed a level to make sure it was . . . . level. Then proceeded around four minutes of making the wood level. After that Dante then dipped the wood in a large tub or boiling water. Clearly Dante had a tool specifically for whatever it was he was doing.

After dozens of minutes of waiting in silence Dante used industrial sized tongs to grab the plank. He then started bending the plank to fit in a mold that looked like the body of a regular acoustic guitar. The wood bent extremely easily which surprised Saturn. Once the young start up got to thinking about it he realized that the reason the wood bent so easily was because it had been soaked in the boiling water.

After that was complete Dante then grabbed another plank of wood which was a dark piece of wood that was different from the wood that he had used to make the body of the acoustic guitar. Dante started on the neck of the guitar. Dante used a different hand plane to make the neck the perfect shape and width and flatness. Everything about the neck was level and it had a simple beauty to it, Saturn couldn't wait to see the finished project.

Once he had the neck put together Dante used an extremely thin piece of paper that seemed similar to paper to cover the flat top off the neck. Dante glued the thin piece of wood to the neck. The wood had spots where the frets would go.

Dante didn't immediately start on the frets though, he instead started on the part that would hold the tuning keys.

In the end it took Dante four hours to do all that, and it would take him another hour to do the frets and tuning pegs. He could only finish the guitar about a week later since that was when the body would be dry.

That entire week Saturn showed up at Dante's workshop after work. Sometime accompanied by Samantha other times not. Eventually a week later, exactly what Dante had said, the body was dry.

" Alright now I am going to glue and nail the face onto the sides of the body. Notice how I do this by hand, many luthiers these days don't. I prefer using my hands and hammer since I feel I have better control over the process. Honestly though, if you want you can use a nail gun, I wouldn't mind. "

" You are my teacher, if I don't follow your teaching's then I am not worth being taught. "

" Oh don't say that, you are an amazing student. Besides eventually you will make your own style. My teaching are to just help you reach your full potential. Anyway come back tomorrow, and look forward to seeing this baby completed. "

" Alright then, I'm heading out, I'm going to dinner with my mom you want to go? "

" I'm good, I think I am going to do a bit of extra work before heading home. "

  " . . . . Alright, don't work to hard. "

" I really am getting old for a young buck to be worrying about me. "

Dante was a traditional man in someways, one of those ways was his work ethic. If he had energy he would work, he didn't like taking brakes or half-assing a job. That was one of the things that Saturn respected most about the man.

  The day after.

  " Dante, I'm here. "

( Seriously considered killing him off here, but decided not to. I don't know what it is about this story, but I really want to kill all the old men. )

  " I'm back here Neptune. "

Saturn scowled at the nickname that the old luthier had given him. Dante called Saturn Neptune since it was a planet other than Saturn which annoyed Saturn, but also because Neptune was the densest planet near Earth. When he looked up the densest planet Dante kept getting posts search results about Super-Earth, but that wasn't really a good nickname.

While scowling Saturn went into the back room where he found a surprising sight. Dante was sticking his wang in the f-hole. Dante's wang was what he called his file since it was shaped similar to a mushroom. The f-hole was of course the f shaped hole found on some guitars.

" Just putting the finishing touches on the guitar. "

Saturn nodded and walked up close to the guitar to give it a good examination. The guitar was a pure white color that made one think of ghosts. According to Dante the wood used to make it was actually a swamp species of wood that was similar to a mix of ash and pine wood. The neck of the guitar was a dark wood that was very tough and dense. Dante said that it was considered an exotic wood straight out of Australia which was notorious for dense and heavy woods. The guitar was an eight string which Saturn thought was odd but cool. On the body of the guitar were two f-holes one of which Dante had just finished up smoothing out.

Once he finished on the f-hole Dante used some clear mineral oil to coat the body of the guitar. It didn't add or take away from the beauty of the guitar, it did make it pop though.

A few hours of drying later Dante handed the guitar to Saturn.

" Here, try it out. "

Saturn didn't hesitate to start on some elegant and extremely skillful Spanish guitar. The song was one of his favorites in his memories. It was Malaguena, a very beautiful and hard to play song.

Dante had instantly been captivated by the song, closing his eyes and leaning back to listen to the wonderful performance.

Once he finished the piece Saturn started handing the guitar back to Dante who instantly shook his hands.

" Keep it, I made it for you, It has a box in the shop so make sure you grab it before you leave. "

Saturn didn't say anything, instead he firmly shook the old man's hand's which surprisingly returned an equally firm shake. Clearly all Dante's years of labor gave him a certain level of strength.

After that Saturn stayed at the store and played some random songs that were not as professional as malaguena, but still sounded nice. They sounded authentic.

Once that was done, Saturn went home had dinner with his mom, talked with Sam over the phone, checked his WeStream channel and then went to sleep.
