It was night and people were in their home enjoying the warmth of their family, some were talking and playing with their children, some young couple were busy with making love but Nik was in deep thought about what would he going to hear tomorrow from granny Debra. He hated the nights every time he fall sleep he knew he is going to see nightmares like any other nights it was a night full of cold sweat and terrible nightmares but he went to sleep so he could go to work early in the morning he was a simple hunter in the village nobody knew who he really was or where did he come from but all the people knew that he was a kind person to everyone and very good hunter.

  Sun was about to rise to give warmth and light to the world one by one farmers and shepherds coming out of their houses to go to work.

  In a simple hut at the end of the village Nik opened his eyes face covered in cold sweat he thought to himself:

  "Again and again why do I keep dreaming of rivers of blood and pile of bones is it my future? Or I did something wrong in my life and I'm being punished? I just want to stop. Sigh"

  He let out sigh and rose from bed to dress up and start his work to hunt for the village so he dressed up and walked into the woods the he was skilled in hunting deer and rabbit every time he could hunt one or two deer and rabbits. He was walking, hiding and laying traps in jungle for 2 hours and suddenly he heard a noise from one of his traps a deer had been trapped so he walked towards it with a knife in his hand he stood in front of it and said:

  "I am so very sorry I know you don't deserve it but you must die for the empty stomach of poor and hungry people but the ones who are responsible for all of these must survive and live golden palaces."

  Nik paid his respect to deer and collected the corpse after few more hours and catching some rabbits and one boar he returned to village. He was walking in village to hand over the corpses to the butcher and receive his coins.

  "Greetings Johan how are you I have brought the meat for today

  1 deer, 3 rabbit and 1 boar how much do I get?"

  "Hello Nik for those you get 200 silver and 30 copper coins.

  Here take this pouch it's the right amount."

  "Thank you Johan then I bid you farewell for now take care."

  "You take care too."

  Nik exited the butchery shop and walked towards the elders house to meet and listen to granny Debra.

  "Greetings granny and these young fellows. Granny you have not started yet?"

  "Hello uncle Nik."

  Children said in unison

  "Greetings Nik no I have not started yet I was waiting for you sit and listen my boy."

  So Nik sat down and listened to granny

  "Well my children I told you about various races in arcania but these races are not only thing that live here with us aside from these races there monsters too all kind of monsters but I know too little about them…"

  Suddenly one boy asked:

  "Granny monsters? Aren't they just stories to scare us?"

  "No my child the monsters are real very real and very deadly but you need not to be scared because the knights will defend us now if u let me I am going to tell you about these monsters. There are monsters like goblins crafty little creatures they like gold and valuable metal they are green and short even shorter than the dwarves or mountain trolls their skin is as hard as rock and almost as tall as humans and then there are hybrids like harpies a combination of birds and lizards and griffin. I am sorry my children in the end I don't know many monsters I'm old and can't remember everything..."

  One of the kids asked:

  "Granny what about dragon are they real?"

  "My dear child as far as I know dragons are legendry and very powerful beings so I don't know they are real or not. Now you all know everything I know about races and monsters of arcania now is the time for me tell you about the Eternal Knight I am still remember when he came to the palace it was 40 years ago I was 20 years old and I was one of the many maids of the late queen mother Henrieta he came for partaking in the knighthood exam he had white hair a strange mask covering his face and wearing a red cape around his shoulders and carrying a long heavy and terrifying sword on is back he stood in the arena where exam was held for recruiting new black knights he was very dazzling from the very beginning ..."

  One of the children suddenly said:

  "Granny what is black knight?"

  "The black knight my dear is lowest rank for knights…"

  "Granny there is other ranks as well?"

  "Yes my child there are black knight and above is bronze above that is silver and highest is gold knight I don't know about now but when I was still in palace there was 100 gold knights now let me tell you the rest of story as soon as exam started he started fighting with others first defeated one then fight two on one still defeated time passed for an hour or two in the he defeated 60 candidates all by himself there was only 100 candidate and he defeated 60 with ease and without using his sword he just used a wood branch the royal family were watching this exam they had the best fighters for protecting themselves but still they were in shock and awe..."

  Granny was still telling the rest of the story for the children so nobody not granny not even the children noticed the sad look Nik had in his eyes he was in deep thought much like he was remembering something from the past so he wasn't listening to the rest of the story then suddenly

  "Nik are you listening?" granny asked

  "Oh sorry I was in deep thought what were you saying?"

  "I was saying after the fight and after he displayed his power king immediately promoted him to bronze knight this was the first time in history that someone becomes a bronze knight right in the exam. Well then my dear children this is the end for today the rest I will tell it tomorrow and tomorrow I will tell you about the battles he fought and I know and heard about them ."

  The children frowned they wanted to know those stories but it was no way to force granny to change his mind so they bid farewell to granny and their uncle Nik and left. But Nik stood there staring at sky a drop of tear in his eyes and he was thinking about what nobody knew.
