Chapter 9: The Little Overlord of Northern Wei

Half an hour later, Huaiyu sat in the carriage with her mouth raised high.

Jiang Xuanjin closed his eyes to meditate, walked for a while, and found that his ears were very clear. He couldnt help but open his eyes and glance at the people beside him.

"Whats wrong? Why so few words now?"

Hua Yu hugged her arm and puffed up: "Im so reluctant to part with you, but youre dragging your sick body to send me away. Im really too pitiful!"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuanjins mood finally eased a bit, and he even slightly curled up the corners of his mouth.

These two days he was stifled by her to what extent, its rare that she can get angry once, the normally stoic Ziyang Jun thought this is truly a matter worth rejoicing.

"Alas." Huai Yu held her head in her hands and sighed, turning her head to look at him with a pair of eyes, and suddenly stretched out her hand.

"What are you doing!" Jiang Xuanjin was shocked and quickly grabbed her.

His fingertips stopped an inch away from his waist, and he reluctantly bent down, with a hint of a smile: "This time Im leaving, it wont be easy to see you again next time, so I have to take something as proof."

Jiang Xuanjins face darkened: "Dont even think about it!"

"Fine." Turning her hand over to grasp his wrist, Huai Yu pitifully shook it back and forth, "If not for Ming Pei, then someone else will do!"

What a joke! Jiang Xuanjin coldly snorted. After finally getting rid of this person, he would give her another chance to get close to him? Wasnt that just asking for trouble?

  "Be honest."

Hua Yu was unhappy, gazing at him with a resentful look in her eyes. He looked straight ahead, completely ignoring her.

The horse carriage swayed for about half an hour before finally coming to a stop.

"Master." Cheng Xiao anxiously lifted the curtain of the carriage, "Are you alright?"

"It doesnt matter." Coughing twice, Jiang Xuanjin got off the car with a pale face and turned to look at the people in the carriage, "Get down."

Hua Yu reluctantly stuck out her head, took a glance at the familiar courtyard wall, and said flatly: "I really think this place is not as good as being by your side."

Jiang Xuanjin expressionlessly pulled her off the car.

She struggled twice, but the other partys action was extremely fast and had already gone around to the front door to deliver the letter. And after a moment, a group of people rushed out from the mansion.

"I didnt know you were arriving, Im afraid I wasnt able to greet you from afar!" A noblewoman came forward and bowed respectfully. "The old master has gone into the palace and hasnt returned yet. If its not urgent, please come in and have a cup of tea first."

Jiang Xuanjin nodded and pushed out the person hiding behind him: "Since youve come to our noble residence, theres no other business. This young lady... must be a runaway from the mansion, right?"

The noblewoman raised her head and met Li Huaiyus gaze straight on.

In an instant, Huai Yu read out surprise, resentment, disgust, and incomprehension from her eyes, but soon, this persons eyelids drooped and replaced with a terrified expression.

"This... This is the Fourth Miss of the Manor, she has been mentally unstable for many years and ran away a few days ago. If theres anything that offended you, please forgive us!"

For many years, Li Huaiyu was shocked by these words.

Fourth Miss of the Mansion? Jiang Xuanjin was shocked by this identity.

The two of them simultaneously lifted their heads and looked towards the vermilion plaque hanging above the large gate, on which was written in gold brushstrokes the two words "Bai Fu".

The official residence near the government road is also surnamed Bai. Theres no one else but the White family. It can only be the home of Grand Secretary Bai Dezhong.

Bai Dezhongs fourth daughter is so stupid that the whole city knows! Huaiyu was very sad, she took advantage of someones misfortune, and it turned out to be Miss Bai Si! That old man Bai Dezhong had been at odds with her before, now what? She still has to be his daughter and call him father?

  What a joke!

Jiang Xuanyins face turned even uglier, he glanced at Li Huaiyu sideways, as if thinking of something, his eyes suddenly sank heavily.

"Does your lordship seem a bit unwell?" The noblewoman, of course, had no idea what they were thinking and merely inclined her body in greeting, "Please go sit down and rest for a while."

Jiang Xuanyin originally intended to send someone off and then leave, but now he couldnt leave.

"Im disturbing you then," he said.

"Master." Chui followed behind him, saying in a worried tone, "Your body... should be resting now."

He coughed lightly twice and Jiang Xuanjin said in a low voice with pale lips: "It doesnt matter, there are more important things now."

Whats more important? Suddenly enlightened, thinking of Bai Si Miss and the Jiang familys origin, she immediately reacted and lowered her head without making another sound.

Li Huaiyu came back to her senses, just wanting to say something else to Jiang Xuanjin, but the white lady walking beside her suddenly stretched out her hand and pushed her hard, causing her to stumble two steps back.

"Xī" Huái Yù looked at her with some puzzlement.

Bai Meng ignored her, smiling as he led the way for Jiang Xuanjin while whispering a couple of sentences to the family slave beside him.

The house slaves who had received their orders rolled up their sleeves and came towards Huaiyu.

  "Whats going on?" She glared.

Several household slaves covered her mouth without saying a word and quickly tried to take her away.

If it were the fourth young lady from before, she might not have had the strength to resist and would have been taken away obediently. But who is this now? The little overlord of Northern Wei, the Princess of Danyang, whom all the civil and military officials in the court cannot handle! How could she be bullied by a few household slaves?

With one kick, she sent the servant who was covering her mouth flying, Li Huaiyus face sank, and with a swift over-the-shoulder throw, she slammed the other servant who was pinning her down to the ground.

A dull thud was heard, and everyone stopped in their tracks.

"Look at how fierce you are, still wanting to play this trick on me?" Huai Yu stepped on the persons belly with one foot, crossed his arms and angrily said, "You refused to answer questions properly, forcing me to take action! Now speak, what do you want to do?"

The house slave who had been trampled was foaming at the mouth, his eyes rolled back, and his whole body convulsed so that he could not speak.

Jiang Xuanjin glanced sideways, and Bai Mengshi also turned his head in shock: "Whats going on?"

"You ask me whats going on? Id like to ask you too!" Hua Yu coldly hummed as she withdrew her foot, raised her eyes to look at her, "My people came to your manor as guests, and you had them carried away. What do you mean by this? Do you want to fight with me over people?"

  "Whats wrong with you!"

  "What a rush!"

Jiang Xuanjin and Bai Mengshi both shouted at her in unison.

Hua Yu scratched her ear and smiled at Jiang Xuanjin: "Well, this is the truth, nothing to be ashamed of." Then she turned her head, narrowed her eyes and stared at Bai Mengshi: "If you didnt want to fight over someone, why did you attack me?"

Bai Meng stared at her in shock, forgetting to mind her manners: "You... youre not stupid anymore?"

The Fourth Miss of the White Manor, Bai Zhiyi, had a severe illness three years ago that damaged her brain, and since then she has been half-crazy and half-foolish. This is something everyone in the entire White Manor knows.

But the person in front of him had White Four Misss face on top, yet was extremely clear-headed, not only clear-headed but also very arrogant.

"Of course Im not stupid." She rolled her eyes at the person, then slipped away to Jiang Xuanjins side and grasped his sleeve tightly.
