Chapter 51: This set of chapters is taking longer than I thought

Luna sat back as The chamber desded into utter chaos as Luna’s words hung in the air. Wizengamot members scrambled to catch the owls that swooped down, each carrying ominously sealed letters bearing the Gringott's insignia. The screeg of the birds mingled with panicked murmurs and ed excmations as wizards and witches opehe letters, their faces paling upon reading the tents.

“Repayment of all debts?” one of the older members, Lord Nott, sputtered, holding a part in his trembling hands. “This… this is preposterous! We’ve had those arras feions!”

A witch with eborately braided silver hair from House Yaxley stood, her voice rising above the din. “Princess Faust, surely you ot expect us to repay such sums immediately! The ey—”

“Will recover,” Luna interrupted, her voice calm and resolute as she stepped forward, her silver gaze sweeping the room. “The Houses of Cruze, Faust, Gryffindor, Perville, Pendragon, Ravencw, Slytherin, and Wyllt have upheld the foundations of wizarding society for turies. Yet, when a grievous injustice has been brought to your attention, most of you voted to dey, preferring pcy over justice.”

She paused, letting her words sink in before tinuing, her voice growing colder. “Your unwillio honor the fual principles of fairness and w has sequences. You were warned, a you chose to prioritize venience over morality. My houses will no longer carry the burden of debts owed by those who turn a blio injustice.”

Several members stood, voices raised in protest, but their outcries were swiftly silenced as Albus Dumbledore released a palpable wave of magical pressure across the chamber. Though his expression remained calm, the subtle tightening of his jaw and the stern gleam in his eyes left little doubt as to his displeasure. In his hand, he held his own notice of repayment, sealed with the unmistakable emblem otts.

The entire chamber grew deathly quiet as the realization sank in—Dumbledore was angry.

Suddenly, the headmaster’s magical pressure was seemingly drowned out as a far greater force swept over the chamber. Princess Faust’s magic surged, overwhelming and a, filling the air with an almost electric charge. Every flicker of light in the chamber dimmed, shadows dang unnaturally across the walls as if bowing to her will.

Luna’s hair floated around her as though caught in an otherworldly wind, shimmering like the night sky. Her eyes glowed with a brilliant silver light, a refle of power that seemed beyond mortal prehension. When she spoke, her voice was deeper, resonating with an echo that made the very air tremble.

“Headmaster,” Luna intoned, her words cutting through the silence like a bde, “is there going to be a problem?”

Dumbledore, ever posed, did not flinch, but a faint tensio into his posture. He met her gaze steadily, though even he could not fully ceal the flicker of in his eyes. Around the chamber, Wizengamot members sat frozen, their protests fotten, as if held in pce by an invisible force.

After a moment that stretched unbearably long, Dumbledore ined his head slightly in a gesture of deference. “No, Princess Faust. There will be no problem.”

  “Good,” Luna replied, her voice returning to its normal, as the chamber doors opened once again with several aurors dragging in sirius bbsp;

“Good,” Luna replied, her voice returning to its normal melodie, though the aura of her power still lingered heavily in the air.

At that moment, the chamber doors creaked open once again, drawing all eyes toward the entrance. A group of Aurors entered, esc a shackled Sirius Bck. His wrists were bound with ented s, but his gait was steady, and his eyes gleamed with defiance despite the weariness etched into his features. The years in Azkaban had takeoll—his face was gaunt, and his oidy hair hung in u waves around his shoulders—but his spirit had not been broken.

A murmur swept through the chamber as members of the Wizengamot took in the sight of the man they had ned without trial over a decade ago. Whispers of uainty and reition rippled through the crowd, some questioning their past assumptions, others simply astonished by his presence.

“Pce the accused before us,” Dumbledore anded, his voiow cool and formal. The Aurors led Sirius to the ter of the chamber, where he stood beh the looming presence of the Wizengamot.

As the ented s secured him to the floor, Amelia Bones rose from her seat once again. “Sirius Orion Bck, you stand before this cil to answer for crimes you have been accused of but never formally tried for. Today, we seek to correct this grave ht and deliver justice fairly.”

Sirius raised his head, his eyes flig briefly to Harry, who sat beside Daphne in the audience se, and then to Dumbledore who was looking at him not even b to hide his anger.

Amelia tinued, “You are accused of betraying the Potters to Lord Voldemort, resulting in their deaths, and of causing the deaths of twelve Muggles aer Pettigrew in a street explosion.”

Before she could proceed further, Luna’s voice rang out, clear and decisive. “Madam Bones, I believe we agreed on the use of Veritaserum for this trial. Shall we begin with that?”

Amelia gave a curt nod. “Indeed. Auror Dawlish, admihe Veritaserum.”

One of the Aurors approached with a small vial of clear liquid. He tilted Sirius’s head back slightly and carefully administered three drops of the potion onto his tohe entire chamber watched in tense silence, waiting for the effects to take hold.

After a moment, Amelia spoke again. “State your name for the record.”

Sirius’s voice came out calm and unwavering, though slightly monotone from the effects of the Veritaserum. “Sirius Orion Bck.”

“And were you the Potters’ Secret Keeper on the night of their betrayal?”

“No,” Sirius answered ftly. “Peter Pettigrew was.”

A gasp echoed through the chamber, followed by a flurry of murmurs. Dumbledore’s expression darkehough he said nothing.

“Did you betray the Potters to Voldemort?” Amelia pressed, her tone sharp.

“No,” Sirius repeated. “I would rather have died tharay James and Lily.”

The sheer pandemonium grew louder, disbelief and shock rippling through the assembled witches and wizards. Luna leaned ba her chair, her smirk clear as day.

There were calls for all Azkaban io have their trial redone.

Amidst the chaos Harry and Daphne exged quick, uain gnces, each silently unig the same thought: Luna—no, Princess Faust—has been holding ba us.

Harry leaned slightly toward Daphne, whispering out of the er of his mouth, “Did you know she could pull that off?”

Daphne shook her head, keeping her eyes on Luna, who remained poised, calm, and utterly in trol of the room. “I knew she owerful, but this? No… This is something else.”

Luna, standing tall in her resple attire, exuded an otherworldly aura that her of them had ever fully witnessed before. She had always been etric, mysterious, and powerful in her ht, but seeing her and aire chamber of the most iial witches and wizards with a single question—and then enforce turies-old magical debts on a whim—was on a pletely different level.

Daphne leaned closer to Harry and murmured, “She’s pying a game we ’t evehe board for.”

Harry gave her a faint, wry grin. “You’re telling me? I think they are pying the game and Luna just threw the board across the room.”

Daph back a smirk, her eyes never leaving Luna. “You might be right. Except now she’s the one making the rules.”

Harry watched as the chamber, still eerily silent, remained captivated by Luna’s presence. Even the Wizengamot, a body known for its stubbornness and self-importance, looked hesitant, almost wary. He leaned back slightly, whispering, “Think she pnned all this?”

Daphne sidered it for a moment. “Knowing her? Probably. Though I doubt even she expected Dumbledore to try and push back like that.”

Harry g Dumbledore, who now seemed more thoughtful than displeased, as though recalg his move. “If he did, he’s regretting it now. I don’t think anyone here is used to being put in their pce like that.”

Daphne gave him a sideways look. “Not by someone who looks like a young wit her early twenties.”

  ===

The chaos in the chamber slowly began to subside, though not without lingering tension. Angry murmurs faded into uneasy silence as members of the Wizengamot exged wary gheir initial e tempered by the realization that their own family members could have been wrongfully imprisoned as well.

The silence was suddenly deafening until Princess Faust spoke once again.

“This session was veht a grievous wrong,” Luna began, her gaze sweeping across the assembled members. “Sirius Orion Bck has been imprisoned for over a decade without trial, without evidence properly presented, and without the ce to speak in his own defehis is not justice. This is the of the very principles upon which this g body was founded.”

Several members shifted unfortably in their seats, the weight of her words pressing down on them.

“The truth has been found out an My house shall be taking custody of Bck for his own safety because it appears that several members of this body wish to see him dead so that they may have the bck fortune,” Luna annouaring directly at Dumbledore daring the old wizard and everyone in the room to challenge her.

Sirius Bck, standiween the Aurors, stared at Luna in open astonishment. His weary, gaunt face betrayed a mixture of fusion and awe. He had expected many things today—perhaps a trial, perhaps death—but not this. Not a woman standing up against the Wizengamot on his behalf.

Dumbledore cleared his throat. “Princess Faust, while your s are… noted, may I remind the chamber that procedures must be followed. Custody of a prisoner ot simply be transferred without due process.”

Luna’s eyes flicked toward Amelia and then back to Albus, her voice as calm and imperious as ever. “The due process you speak of was ignored for over a decade. This cil lost its cim to proper procedure when it allowed an i man to rot in Azkaban without a trial.”

Dumbledore, spoke again, his voice measured. “Princess Faust, I must insist that we proceed carefully. While your iions may be his is a matter for the w.”

“And it is precisely because the w failed that I intervene,” Luna tered smoothly. “Sirius Bck is under my prote, and by right of my Houses, If you disagree we could settle this with a Duel… Just know that you will lose.”

The tension in the room crackled like a storm about to break. Many of the Wizengamot members stared wide-eyed at Luna, who stood poised and calm, her words still hanging in the air like a gauhrown before the cil. Sirius Bck tio stare at her, incredulous, while Dumbledore remained silent, his expression unreadable.

Before anyone else could react, Amelia Bones rose from her seat, her voice cutting through the thick silence. “I would also like to call for the trial of oer Pettigrew, who is in custody as we speak.”

A new wave of murmurs swept through the chamber, disbelief rippling outward as the revetioled in. Several members exged shocked gnces, while others leaned forward ily, their i now fully piqued.

Dumbledore’s brows furrowed slightly in thought. “Peter Pettigrew… alive? That is a serious cim, Madam Bones.”

“It is more than a cim, Chief Warlock,” Amelia said firmly. “He rehended mere days ago, firmed to be alive and well. He was found hiding in his Animagus form, a rat. It appears he has been masquerading in pin sight for years, evading justice while allowing Sirius Bck to take the bme for his crimes.”

Luna o herself before waving her hand causing Sirius’ magic suppressing cuffs to ht disappear. “Alright, you all hahat. Let us go Sirius.”

The Wizengamot chamber erupted into a mixture of astonished gasps and armed shouts as Luna casually waved her hand, making Sirius’s magic-suppressing cuffs vanish as though they had never existed. Sirius flexed his wrists in surprise, staring at Luna in disbelief.

“Princess Faust,” Dumbledore’s voice cut through the chaos, calm but edged with a note of warning, “this is highly irregur. The trial has not yet cluded. Sirius Bck is still—”

“I,” Luna interrupted, her voice ringing clearly across the room. “The mere fact that Peter Pettigrew is alive is proof enough of Sirius Bck’s innoce—without even sidering the Veritaserum testimony. Sit down, young man, and st to provoke a fight with me. Or is this what they call the folly of youth?” she added, without pausing or turning back as she tinued walking, Sirius following closely behind her out the door.

  Meanwhile,

Daphne and Harry were both trying their hardest to not ugh at what Luna had just done.
