The story mainly focus on the planet called Sentinalis, it is a very vibrant version of Earth. Similar to Avatar and other fictional movies. It is lush with wild life and plants, the planet is twice size of earth with similar gravity with Earth. Humans were already in the planet but they are more intelligent and a little more stronger than the Earthling human counterparts. Their technologies improve very fast, but they are slow to adapt to new tech as they aren't usually used to it. So basically you will find sword wielding renassance people with guns and high tech. But they have a dark pasts of hating each nations about their ideology, after some intense arguement they started to bombard each other heavily to the point that they started wars. Bunkers being built, overtime the bombardments became intense and killed 99% of the planet's human population. The only remainding humans are around 5 million people. Few thousand years had passed . Although the humans were near extinct. Most of the flora and fauna barely got hurt. So overtime they grew back. New cities popped up after decades and civilisation slowly rebuilds itself. somehow the humans discovered other civilisation with other species that teached magic and dark arts. Basically teached sorcery and other ways to twist reality. Some communities started developing a faith base around the grand mage till temples, shrines and huge buildings were built around the grand mage's mythology. 5 000 years passed and things barely changed with the exception of discovering old advanced technologies with very little luck trying to replicate. This is where the story takes place.
